This fellow was in the mood for posing at the beach the other day.

He landed on a patch of black sand and I though… ick, move please… But when I got home I was surprised to find I like the black sand shots the best!

Today is the last day of…

Cherry Festival!

There is a parade this afternoon and fireworks tonight, but I don’t know if I have the energy left to go.

My Little Sister has been dragging me all over and it’s been WONDERFUL!

I have at least three or four blogs worth of pictures.

Even though I am spending all of my time at the beach I am still thinking of you guys!

No one can say I don’t know how to entertain myself.

We have been busy, busy, busy…

I am still red like a lobster, so I wore a long sleeve shirt and a hat.

Every day we go to the beach, usually I read or dig in the sand with Cooper.

Some days I take my camera out and take pictures of…

everything.

( I know most of you know this.)

Today I saw HIM…

This is Zeus.

It was his first day out on the jet ski…

How could I not take a picture?

Then since the camera was out I had to take another picture of

Cooper.

and the beetle who decided it was in love with me and wouldn’t leave me alone.

What can I say I am easy to love.

When I was editing I just thought this looked fun.

TELL me what you’ve seen today!

I was going to ask nice, but I feel like being a demanding brat!

It seems that most of our days in the summer are good days.

Sometimes I worry that we have too many good days.

Every day we go to the beach for about an hour.

The kids swim, dig and build castles while  I take random pictures of this and that.

Today we went to an event with face painting.

Cooper asked them to give him a mustache and green beard.

I guess he likes mine so he wanted some facial hair of his own. ;-b

I have been taking a lot of gull shots lately.

I listened to two women complaining, their leathery brown skin shiny with oil, they sat hunched on their towels,smoking their cigarettes.
“Rats with wings, that’s all they are.” One said to the other and then  she took another drag on her cigarette,while children played  around them.

There is just something about birds in flight that is fun to me.

Maybe it’s just that they are there…

or maybe I am collecting wings so that I can take an image like this…

And cut it up and make some more flying frogs!

I think I will… One can never have too many flying frogs.  

Well and of course then I will force you all to look at them… Don’t I always?!

Oh… you know you like it!

You know that feeling?

The one you get

 when you take a nice deep breath and then let it out?

Sitting on the beach and seeing the water,

watching my kids play in the sand.

For me, it’s always that kind of feeling.

I missed it so much.

It’s amazing that life can always find a way.

Another one for the Foot Steps project.

The big kids all spent the night elsewhere last night, so we picked them up and headed off for family time!

We went to The Betsie Point Light House.

The lighthouse was open for tours today.

Everyone was out enjoying the day.

My family loves picking rocks. The beach was full of people searching for the illusive Petosky Stones…

Petosky Stones can’t be found anywhere else in the world.

We have a garden full of them… today we didn’t find anymore,

but we did bring home several pockets full of beautiful stones.

Where was I… three crazy children…

A DOG, sand chair, Profitable Glass and Games magazines’,

beach hat, owned and worn since high school, a must!

sunglasses, a bucket and a frisbee.

These are the ingredients for a great few hours.

FIRST try to exhaust the dog…

Isabelle had Cooper and George running after the frisbee.
