For some reason we have pictures of each of our children with a bug on their head.
I guess we are just a buggy family.
Today, two women ran into each other near my bread stand at the Farmer's Market.
There were the usual hugs and hellos and then one said to the other "How have you been?"
To which the other replied "I just had my colonoscopy!" She then proceeded to take a picture of her colon out of her wallet and show it to her friend.
At this point I had to sell a loaf of bread to a customer, but the whole time I was thinking... WOW, I have something to blog about?!
If you had a picture of your colon, would you be showing it around?
This is not a picture of MY colon...
We are busy sucking every last second out of the summer!
Three of the best dollars I have ever spent. These butterfly nets have caught frogs, tadpoles, toads, minnows, grasshoppers, and beetles... Ironically enough, no butterflies yet though!
A toad in hand....
The ground in the woods during the summer is like an alien landscape, I love the things I see there.
If it rains you will find a tiny me sitting under this mushroom...
The kids start school in less then two weeks, I am going to miss them, but I am really looking forward to the freedom. I can't remember the last time I went to an adult movie in the afternoon... I think I liked that... In a couple of weeks I can and I'll let you know!
Is there anything coming up that your looking forward to?
Last week was the Perseid meteor shower... I love meteor showers BUT...
Every time one comes around I start thinking about apocalyptic events...
I know, I'm weird that way.
It all started when I was in Middle School and I read...

GREAT book.

I haven't seen the movie, but I remember the book very well, obviously.
I think about what I would do if the world as we know it were to change tomorrow...
If technology were gone, no phones, no internet, no power...
If looting and vandalism were rampant and there was no trusting in your neighbor...
What would I do?
We have food storage in case of job loss or natural disaster, (or a zombie attack
)
BUT

We have no contact plan...
How would I contact our extended family? How would I know if they survived? If they needed me?
I've never asked them, or made any plan for the obvious reasons I suppose..
Like I don't want anyone to think I'm a nutcase!
Now that I am going through withdrawal and have no pictures to post I thought this would be a good time to reveal what a flake I am and to ask...
What did you have for breakfast?
I'M KIDDING!
If there was some sort of apocalyptic event tomorrow would you and your family be prepared? How would you prepare?
Would you feel comfortable discussing your zombie shelter with your family members? or do you think they would think your a nutcase?
I worked the farm market today! I LOVED IT!
I took 150 loaves with me and about 100 sweets and came back to the bakery with only 15 loaves...
I did good.
Working the market was so different from shopping it. I love shopping at the farm market, but working it I get to talk to so many interesting people. I can tell I'm going to have fun.
I am still going through camera withdrawal.
I have been informed that my little sister has my baby and will be coming up Friday... I just have to make it through two more days, or one and a half if I'm lucky.
In the mean time, Al-son has very generously offered to lend me a couple of his pictures... since I like the pictures and I like him... I am taking him up on his offer!
One of them even qualifies as a CIRCLE...
Why HE hasn't posted it I don't know!

We caught a bird with a broken wing the other day and the kids fed it a couple of these little fellows...
I can see a few faces in this one too... It's easy to find faces in wood...

These both qualify as CIRCLES...

Thanks for trying to help me through my withdrawal Al-son...
The bad part about working the farm market is standing on my feet for five hours without a break... I didn't feel it then, but I'm sure feeling it now! OY...
Hope you all aren't suffering withdrawals of your own!
This weekend Ben and I made a whirlwind trip to Detroit to pick up a car we inherited from his older brother and his Dad. I was a little distracted with the time crunch to get home and the mild stress of towing a car... Long story short, I forgot my camera in Detroit!
I can't believe I left it! Normally it's like an appendage, always on me...
My sister is coming up this coming weekend and will bring it with her... in the mean time, this is DAY ONE of WITHDRAWAL!
I can't even show you a picture of the new car...
Well, maybe because I'm crafty I can find a way...
What is something in your life that you would go through withdrawal without?
Today is a good day for me, in fact August 16th has probably become one of my favorite days of the year.
Why? What's so special about August 16th? You ask. (I know you did.)
Well first and foremost it is the day that THE LOVE OF MY LIFE was born.
That alone makes it a great day...
But then it got even better because...
Here on Xanga I found my BEST FRIEND...
and this is the day the world was blessed with her too!
AND
To celebrate her day I'm swipping a few of her pictures and posting them here.
Because I wanna !

She's SPECTACULAR...
Yeah, it's a great day
Happy birthday to two incredible individuals. YOU make my life better and I feel blessed to know you.
