I stayed home from work sick today...

It was pouring out, the weather matched the way I felt, dark and icky.

When it stopped I was tired of being inside and needed some air, so I took a walk around the yard and ended up crawling through the wet grass.

Maybe not the best thing for most  sick people, but it sure made me feel better.

The morning glories are still sending out a few last hopes.

I love, love, love, my hen's and chicks... They remind me of my childhood.

My mom grew them by the barrel full.

This seed pod reminded me of  Murisopsis and her incredible pottery.

While I was trying to shoot the great drops in this web I almost set my hand on this...

He was super still and very patient,

 considering that because I am shooting with a cheap piece of magnified glass,

 I have to set my lens right on top of him.

I don't know about him, but I will probably have nightmares tonight. :-s

What makes YOU feel better?

Been feeling a little glum lately.

I'm still enjoying looking at the world in close up though...

Life is good, I am sure that I'm just going through the season change blahs.

Not  that long ago my Pop started Geocaching.

My Sister and  Pop at a  -First To Find- in 2008...

I don't know what number he was then, but yesterday...

This was them at his 1000th find!

He is now a proud member of the four digit club or 4DC... My sister presented him with his new hat!

The gang was all there...

My hubby took the group photo... This is how it went.

My Sister- "Okay everyone look at the camera. Take one more, That's good..."

My Sister- "Okay, that's enough... no more... On to the next cache!"

My Pop- "We're done already? But it's my 1000th find! Ummm...Can someone help me up? "

(Just kidding, my Pop is still spry and young, no help needed.)

It was a great day and we saw some wonderful things. (To be posted about later.)

We didn't make it back to the giant heads though, a shame because I have heard that Mr. Moran did  Lincoln last year... I can't wait to see it.

Any excuse for another ROAD TRIP!

Do you ever wonder why we do the ODD things we do?

I am sure that I do them because of my family.

This year for Mother's Day the family got me a flat of Hollyhocks.

I planted them in the right place and a few of them bloomed!

I can't wait until they come up next year!

Where are you?

Went Geocaching awhile ago with my Father in Law.

We did a Spirit Cache.

It took us to a cemetery to see the grave of Johnny Griffith.

Mr Griffith  played with the Funk Brothers, an in house band for MoTown Records, they- "played on more number one hits than the Beatles, Elvis Presley,the Rolling Stones and The Beach Boys combined. "

While walking around the cemetery I found a headstone with what has become my favorite name ever...

Instead of  birth and death on her headstone it read Sunrise and Sunset... it seemed  right out of a Fannie Flagg novel.

I love the things I  see and learn geocaching.

Better than the stuff I see, is WHO I see it with... 

I am so blessed.

The kids asked if they could make dinner tonight, sounded like a good deal to me.

They called it an all you can eat buffet.

Listening to them prepare it was half the fun.

Cooper insisted on being called Chef Cooper, and Isabelle said that was okay as long as he understood he was the third ranking Chef. Chef Charlie was first and Chef Isabelle was second and THEN there was Chef Cooper because he was the littlest and still learning. Cooper was okay with that.

We had...

 Day old scone and Fig Newtons.

A smiley face cheese plate, by way of a sliced cheese stick.

Bagels with salmon cream cheese. (The lemon is for a splash of color on the table.)

Chex mix, crackers with cheese on them, and yogurt.

Bologna pizza, Chef Charlie and Chef Isabelle's secret recipe.

The plate was full but on the way to the table, apparently some of it got eaten, I mean went missing.

We also had white bread cheese sandwiches and neon yellow  macaroni and cheese.

All washed down with pink lemonade.

They even did the clean up... 

The only thing missing was Daddy!

He'll be home soon though and I saved him some bologna pizza!

Mmm... He is going to be SO HAPPY!
