  • PERFECT PHOTO SEARCH 2010

Perfect Photo Search 2010 or PPS 10

    Time to get started!

I know it's cold and I don't plan on getting out much yet, but it can't hurt to have the topic, right?

    First-

    CLOCKS

    (Seedsower's choice)

It can be any type of time piece, all of it or part of it...

Try to capture the perfect CLOCK picture.

    Elk Rapids clock

    and

    second-

    HORIZON LINES.

There can of course be a subject or subjects in the photo...

    two thirds rule

as long as the HORIZON LINE is integral to the picture...

    cooper pleased with cloud capture

the HORIZON LINE has to be essential to making it a great shot!

What is the PERFECT PHOTO SEARCH?

    I'm glad you asked!

I know, almost all of my friends know, but just in case there is still one out there who doesn't...

It is a topic I choose every year,

sometimes by myself and sometimes with the help of friends.

It gets me through those times when the photographic inspiration just isn't flowing...

I always have that  one thing to look for when I can't think of anything I want to take pictures of.

The first year I opened my search up to share my topic with other Xangans, the topic was DOORS...

Last year we chose two, CIRCLES and  FACES IN THINGS.

    PPS 09

    veiw finder back veiw

Throughout the year when you take a picture of a CLOCK or a HORIZON LINE...

User tag me on the post, so I know it's up... (that will make it easier)

I will then link your post so everyone who wants to play along can see.

At the end of the year we will all lay it all out there and show everyone your own personal visions of the essence  of a HORIZON LINE and/or  a CLOCK!

    Happy hunting!

  • Pop took Cooper to Lansing this weekend  for a geocaching event and some quality Grandpa time.

They met my Sister and Nephew Sam there, everyone spent the night at my Aunt and Uncle's house.

I share with you my Aunt Mary's face book status from this morning...

Ok the conversation went like this. Jay with my five year old nephew Cooper.
Cooper: uncle jay how did the water get on the floor?
Jay: I kicked the dog bowls and spilled it.
    Cooper: damn
Jay: what did you just say?
Cooper: I'm going to change that.

I have been assured that everyone left the room before they laughed...

    My sister and my Rents!

D is giving me a look because she was trying to eat and I had a camera in her face... I don't know WHY she would give me a look, you would think she'd be used to it by now...

    valentines dinner at D's 029

My sister inherited her flair for the holidays from my Grandma J, she loved going all out too.

D put one of Gram's Vday decorations on the table.

    valentines dinner at D's 027

My hubby and my brother in law, the pug tamer...

It was a good day, a great day even, how could it not be with good food and family!

Today some of us are geocaching, some of us are going to the movies and some of us are being good and going to church like we're supposed to!

I hope you all have a GREAT valentines day!

  • Still playing around

I'm still playing around with my new lens.

    Santa fisheye

This is a tree farm that hasn't gotten around to taking down the big guy yet.

I'm finding the lens a little hard to get used to. (Not in a bad way.)

You can't tell but I was right in front of him. That stake in the ground was beside me...

    sun flair and lamp post

This is Torch lake in Alden.

I love the flairs I was getting from the sun.

I know they aren't great pictures.

It was just fun taking them and I thought I would show you guys what I was up to.

This weekend I get to test my new toy out on Detroit city!

    I can't wait!

  • I have a new toy.

    fisheye monsters

A fish eye lens for my camera.

    fisheye feet

    The obligatory feet picture.

    fisheye cooper feather boa

I haven't gotten to use it much yet, but I did get to harass the kids a little with it.

    fisheye feather face

    Cooper and Grandma

    fisheye charlie face

    Charlie face...

He is going to hate that I posted this.

    fisheye road and trees

I was trying to get more curve to the trees... I need to play with it more to figure out how to use it advantageously.

    bakery fisheye

I don't think I've ever posted a picture of the bakery before so...

    Here's the bakery.

I know it's kind of a silly thing, but I've always wanted a fisheye.

I'd considered buying a toy camera, but I hated the idea of going the whole film route, I am a digital gal through and through.

It was well worth the thirty dollars it cost me. I will get that in enjoyment from it in no time.

What kind of toys do you have?

  • OOPS

I didn't realize I had let so long go by...

Cooper and I had a date tonight. We went to Sparky's diner and had greasy hamburgers, deep fired mushrooms and a giant chocolate shake with a cherry on top.

As I sat there watching my five year old try to lick whipped cream off of his forehead, I wanted my camera... I thought, what a nice blog this would make...

Of course I didn't have my camera... *sigh*

I'm happy about the fact that I wanted to blog anyway.

Have you ever had a period of blogging burnout?

January 21, 2010

  • Well the ickiness went through the entire household.

I thought I was lucky and it had passed me by, but when I slowed down for my day off from work... it caught up to me.

Now it's all gone... I think.
Everyone's feet are in good health.
