  • Isn’t summer supposed to be relaxing?

I suppose it is for most people… but not for us, we go, Go, GO!

    I like it.

Today we went to the beach in Northport and picked stones.

The kids found fifteen Petosky stones in under an hour.
    Then we hit the lighthouse…

I am too tired to edit pictures now, I’ll put some up later.

    bug me beatle

Lately I’ve been checking out the milkweed.

Have you ever noticed how pretty milkweed flowers are?

I love seeing milkweed, to me they represent Monarch butterflies!

Have you been GOING this summer?

  • Oh my, yes! I still have another month of GOING to get through, but some of it will be spent visiting Beth. I’m looking forward to going there!

  • Oh I have been going this summer! Today was spent making jam, I did two batches of peach today and yesterday was a batch of mango Jalapeno~ I am tired tonight but come January I will be happy for the summer goodness on biscuits! Yummy!!!

I love that photo of the red school house, how lovely that crisp red is against the green of the trees!

  • I have been going this summer… getting up and going to work every day! =(

Lord willing and the creek don’t rise, I’ll be heading for the redwoods the first week of August.

  • Milkweed flowers smell really good too.

  • great pics, esp the one with the bugggg !   i ‘m trying to get up to manistee to deliver some money to the indians. i will definetly be up there in early october.  the way the weather has been i will bet it’s going to be a hot fall.

  • Love the pics! Our summer has been at a more moderate pace. Usually we have visitors who come over from the States, and then it is crazy because we are their tour guides. This summer is a little lonely — a slower.

  • Great pics as usual, Ang! Yeah, I been going a lot, but mostly back and forth to work.

  • I wanna be there. I truly do. *Sigh*

  • we will relax when we’re dead… Summer on!!!

    beautiful pics as always!

  • lol Looks like the bug has a smiley-like face.

  • Every year, at the end of school, I say “I can’t wait for summer, so things will slow down”.  Then summer hits and I remember it’s the BUSIEST time of year for us.  Oye. I think I’d be bored if it was too low key though.  I <3 milkweed too.  Such nice childhood memories around it.  :O)

  • Yup, life has not slowed down a bit for me this summer. I’m worrking full time while doing grad school! Eek!

  • The milkweed blossoms are really quite ornate.  Not sure I’ve seen them around here.  I will be on a plane one of these days, for Washington, D.C. – first time on a plane since ’95, hehe!

  • Pretty much constantly! And I take too many pics, so I have masses of them to sort…. what needs saved, what needs tossed, what needs editing…. and in a few weeks I’m going with my family to Yellowstone — can you imagine how many pictures I’ll be taking in that week??

  • Yes. Everyday, I go bring the Honeybear lunch… LOL

    Beautiful pics!

  • You know me, I stay busy. Right now our go-go-go is to/from volleyball things for my Girly Girl. Luckily, it’s a little slower than usual at work (and I am NOT complaining), so I have a little extra time to organize and get ready for the great school rush coming very soon. Our public schools start this year on August 10th, you see; so my summer is almost over. STB doesn’t head off to college until the end of August, though; so he gets a little longer to relax.

    WHERE’S THE LIGHTHOUSE PICTURES?!?!? LOL

  • those are so darn good I’m jealous.

  • @Shirlann - I’ll let you know when I get them up! August 10th! Wow you guys had almost no summer!

  • Those are beautiful flowers.  We have some right outside our apartments.

  • i love the last picture. the blurring effect is just right

  • I love the red school house!!  So cool!!

  • I worry about the little kids coming out of that schoolhouse right onto the road!  Great photos!  I love summertime and all the activities – it’s the best.  Peace

  • Mornin Glorie…Speaking of Going…Here I am taggin along after shelliland again – She’s on the road somewhere…exploring new places without me…probably she’ll find a bunch of great thrift stores and pawn shops - without me  - I’m not worried that she’ll go to the beach without me though cause she’s scared of sharks …I learned yesterday that Michigan has more lighthouses than any state in the union…and I have seen a bunch of them…thanks Ang….ilym

  • Sadly I dont think I’ve ever even SEEN milkweed.. Unless I saw it in PA and didnt realize it… I’m so naive when it comes to the rest of our beautiful country. Beth may have sparked something in me because now all I want to do is see it all… Except for hostles of course.. I’ll pass on that.

  • Thanks, thought I was running out of things to Google now can look up petosky stones, never hoid of them.

I am not as stubborn as your dad, I hired a place to do it.  The cost of composite made me a little leary of making my normal little opps

  • fossilized stromatoporoids, much simpler

  • @ElevenStones - Oh but they are SO MUCH MORE!
