We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if we only seek them with our eyes open. ~ Jawaharlala Nehru

Even though it looks like this outside I know there is some adventure waiting for me.

Today it will come wrapped in the shape of a trip to the tree farm for a Christmas tree…

    (I don’t wanna go.)

    snowy tree line

How’s it looking in your part of the world?

    How adventurous are you being?!

  • Silver white winters that melt into spring…

    The sculptures of…

    Gian Lorenzo Banini

    Gian Lorenzo Banini

I am impressed with the incredible depth of the details in his work, how he made  marble look like warm flesh…

Going to see his fountains in Rome is on my life list.

    My green bags!

I can fit more groceries into fewer bags. One of my grocery stores gives me a nickel every time I use them, so they may have cost me a dollar to buy, but they have long since paid for themselves.

I feel good about using them and they make carrying the groceries into the house easier too.

Percy Jackson and the Olympian books

I know, it’s another young adult book, I read to the kids every night so I go through a lot of them.

I would be lying if I told you I didn’t like them, I love them!

These books are a great intro into mythology for any little monster as well as a refresher for me!

    Ingrid Michaelson

Her album- Girls and Boys- is my studio music of choice right now.

    Fall!

This is one of last years fall tree pictures. I am excited to go take more.

These are a few of my favorite things, now tell me some of yours!

  • Some of what I Saw…

    SEE! SEE!

    See my pretty posies!

    flowers from Beth 005.jpg

I didn’t get to enjoy them much today though because we were gone all day.

Every Memorial weekend we participate in the insanity that is…

the beginning of the yard sale season!

My parents host a sale at their house with our friend Frank and other members of our family.

I never have it together enough to take anything to sell.

I just go, sit, talk and eat the yummy burgers and cherry brats my Mom  makes for lunch.

Today I couldn’t help but notice all of the fluff floating through the air.

I tried to get a picture of it…

    See it?

    No?

    See it here?!

It looks like snow or spider webs on the grass.

It’s from the trees… Mom kept calling them Popple trees…

I had always thought they were Poplar trees…

But how would I know, I have never seen them do this before…

I guess I just wasn’t paying close enough attention.

Near the trees it filled the air…

    I inhaled fluff several times.

(That could be because I was on the ground by it. )

Popple fluff up your nose does not a happy nose make.

What did you see today that interested you?

  • Tomorrow afternoon I will have a progress report.

    For now though…

    I have this.

    This image isn’t photoshopped,

it was  the look I was going for in my last PS’d one though.

    all alone.jpg

I love the trees right now, you can get the green buds and still see the structure of the branches…

I would go play with shadows and light and all that good stuff,

    but duty calls!

    Stained glass tomorrow.

    I have been brewing a hypothetical too…

Gotta keep you all on your toes.

  • Some of What I saw…

Today was my day of freedom.

Well for me freedom is getting out of the house and going to the Glass Company to work.

On the way home I saw some LOVE making going on.
SO I stopped to take pictures.

    turky's and vultures 007.jpg turky's and vultures 008.jpg

It was a three way in a field… well the two males were hoping anyway.

    lookin for lub.jpg

The poor female took off running for the woods when I showed up with my camera.
Maybe she knew I would blog about her sexual exploits.

Maybe she just didn’t like the Eddie Murphy version of

    “Looking For Lub”

I was singing as I snapped my shots.

    Turkeys with trees closer.jpg

The last guy taking his time still fluffing occasionally as he followed them.

Typical male preening until the end.

    I also saw these…

    vultures1.jpg

They were perched on a barn.

    vultures circling barn.jpg

I really don’t want to know what was in that barn…

There were about twenty vultures some of them going in and out the window…

Luckily I had to go pick Cooper up so I can’t be blamed for being the chicken that I am and not sticking around to check the barn out.

Hope your day is VULTURE FREE.

WOULD YOU HAVE GONE INTO THE BARN?

  • Danth has written a poem to go with one of my pictures. I love it! Thank you Dan!

    bird in a tree.jpg
    A small audience
    of fence posts,
    devoid of the hope
    of being clothed
    in spring attire,
    watch patiently
    the tree adorned
    in her wintry apparel
    of barrenness;

    await to witness
    the beauty of
    her awakening.
