I tried… really I did.
I tried to be happy and excited about turning 40…
I did, but today for the first time I am feeling a bit glum.
Hopefully I will work through it.
My honey and some friends are taking me out to dinner tomorrow at one of the restaurants I really enjoy and I get a nice day just to veg, maybe go to a movie…
I will get through this blue stage… I think I can, I think I can…

Happy, Happy Birthday!
Happy B’day! 40 was wonderful! Really! And just wait until 50 – it’s pretty darned great too!!
Many people in their 50s and 60s often tell me how amazing 40s was for them. It is when you are actually matured and come into yourself in a very stable way. I am certainly experiencing that now for myself. Hope you do too! Enjoy not only 40, but all the 40s have to offer!
Angi, my 40′s friend, do what I did. Grieve. Let yourself cry for a day, feel sorry for yourself, indulge and mourn the loss of the past 39 years. Once you’ve worn out that grief, you’ll move on and life will feel great again.
I know turning 40 sounds scary but it’s really not bad. At least as much as I can remember about turning 40! I’m 55 and still can’t believe I’ll be seeing 60 soon. I think of all the numbers, that’s the one I wonder about the most. Hope you enjoy your dinner and have a wonderful birthday!!
