Remembering Ethel
This winter my Aunt Ethel passed away.
She and her son, my Uncle Tom and his family, were a huge bright spot in my childhood.
For three years in a row my Sister and I had the pleasure of spending a week of our summer with her. We traveled the country side visiting her favorite places.
This is the school she and her sister attended as children, it has been made into a house and we went visiting there…
One of my favorite memories~ was when went to Pleva’s Meat Market in Cedar.
My uncle Tom always used to say, naughty children were sent to Pleva’s and made into Polish sausage Aunt Ethel almost died of embarrassment when my sister asked the butcher behind the counter where they ground up all of the bad kids.
Tomorrow is her memorial service and I am just thinking about her.
My Aunt Ethel and her sister entertaining the crowd at Ethel’s birthday party in 2007.
She was an incredible lady and my world is a better place because she was a part of it.
I hope you all have been or are lucky enough to have someone so special be a part of your world!

oh my gosh, the video of your aunt and her sister is so adorable! It’s hard to lose someone so special.
I’ve been to Pleva’s Meat Market! My kids went to school here with some Pleva girls. Their dad grew up in Cedar and is related to the meat market Plevas. Small world.
I remember that video.
that school house taught them pretty well, didint’ it?
Love the video. You can feel the life and fun that filled her from just watching it. I’ll be lighting a candle for your Aunt Ethel. Her joy for life will be honored in California. I’m sorry for your loss. Looks like she shared that joy so you can hold it in your heart forever. That’s something we can pass on and on and on and more. (pats heart and points to you)
Awww, sorry for your loss Ang. Loved the video, specially the ending. Ethel and her sister must have been a riot to grow up with!
