I couldn’t resist, I had to take a quick picture.
These were the little squatters that occupied the birdhouse that was temporarily sitting on my potting table.
It was great fun watching the parents go back and forth over my head as I sat on the porch reading my book.
They are long gone now, moved on to different housing.
I think Ben and I are going to hang the birdhouse in the same spot, only over the table instead of on it…
It is worth a little gardening inconvenience to hear their little wings whooshing past my head.
It has been a great start to the summer.
I hope your’s is going well!

awww!
Now that’s the way to start the long hot summer mornin glorie…I tried to take the grandson for a swim down at the creek – the creek is spring fed and right chilly – He wasn’t having any of it yesterday… better luck next time I guess…Hey that’s a bunch of baby birds – I bet it was busy around there
ilym
Them’s a lot of birds right there.
So cute…my auntie had some birds nesting by the ventilation thing of her kitchen…they’d come back year after year…chirping chicks galore…:)
That is really great…
What a great photo! All those babies look so cute tucked in their little nest. I would do the same and keep that birdhouse close so I could watch all the action! Good stuff! Peace
I hope that runt got some food eventually.
here’s to another great summer! are yall coming to town still?
How wonderful!!!
Aww… I love their sweet little heads! There sure are a lot of them! I think I count at least seven!
=)
I can’t say that my summer has been “great” by any means; but it’s been okay, and I’m hanging in there. Love your photo of the birds… hell, I love most of your photos, honey!
@Danth - There was no little body in the house when I checked a week later, so he must have gotten something… I hope!
Last year I bought a couple of Tomato Topsy Turvey planters. Sadly, they did not help my veggie black thumb… so we put them against the wall, with the intent of giving them to Mr. Walter, our neighbor in the early spring this year. When we went to give it to him, we found we could not give it to him right away, because a Mother Swallow decided to make her nest there. So, we had to wait till the peeps were grown and on thier own. Happy to report that happened, and that Mr. Walter got to add two more Topsy Turveys to his collection. (Or whatever they are called!)
well, my dog just brought one about that size through the doggie door. ugh!
@angi1972 - Good!
