  • What’s in a name…A shark by any other would smell as fishy?

Tonight while I was making dinner Cooper sat down for a conversation.

He was wearing his pirate patch and looked quite solemn.

    Cooper- “Mom, call me Shark.”

Me- “Okay Shark, Why am I calling you Shark? I like Cooper.”

Cooper/ Shark- “Cooper is the name of a car, a little car, Shark is way cooler.”

Me-”Ahhh I see. Well why don’t we call you Drake? That’s your name too, and it’s cool.”

Cooper/Shark- “Drake means dragon, and that’s cool, but I like Shark better..”

Lifting his eye patch he got a look of pure joy on his face…

Cooper/Shark/ Drake- “I KNOW! I can be Shark Drake, a Shark that spits flames is way cooler then a little car.”

Now how does one argue with that?

    My fisheye lens.

This picture isn’t the best, but it shows another one of my favorite things- the area I live in.

This is a view of one of the local vineyards over looking the West Grand Traverse Bay.

Oh, and it’s a horizon line!

Katie and Sarah have a way of making everything sound interesting to me!

I usually listen to them on my drive to work at three in the morning, it makes the early morning feel less lonely.

    FAVORITE BLOG

    Joe McNally Photography

Not only do you find pictures that are a joy to look at, but he shares information on how he takes them!

It’s amazing to me that someone who is so successful in his field and who has done so much is willing to share it with us!

I have so many more favorites to share, but I think I’ll keep them for another post…

  • PERFECT PHOTO SEARCH 2010

Perfect Photo Search 2010 or PPS 10

    Time to get started!

I know it’s cold and I don’t plan on getting out much yet, but it can’t hurt to have the topic, right?

    First-

    CLOCKS

    (Seedsower’s choice)

It can be any type of time piece, all of it or part of it…

Try to capture the perfect CLOCK picture.

    Elk Rapids clock

    and

    second-

    HORIZON LINES.

There can of course be a subject or subjects in the photo…

    two thirds rule

as long as the HORIZON LINE is integral to the picture…

    cooper pleased with cloud capture

the HORIZON LINE has to be essential to making it a great shot!

What is the PERFECT PHOTO SEARCH?

    I’m glad you asked!

I know, almost all of my friends know, but just in case there is still one out there who doesn’t…

It is a topic I choose every year,

sometimes by myself and sometimes with the help of friends.

It gets me through those times when the photographic inspiration just isn’t flowing…

I always have that  one thing to look for when I can’t think of anything I want to take pictures of.

The first year I opened my search up to share my topic with other Xangans, the topic was DOORS…

Last year we chose two, CIRCLES and  FACES IN THINGS.

    PPS 09

    veiw finder back veiw

Throughout the year when you take a picture of a CLOCK or a HORIZON LINE…

User tag me on the post, so I know it’s up… (that will make it easier)

I will then link your post so everyone who wants to play along can see.

At the end of the year we will all lay it all out there and show everyone your own personal visions of the essence  of a HORIZON LINE and/or  a CLOCK!

    Happy hunting!
