Month: December 2009

  • I was lucky enough to do some really cool things this year…

I didn’t blog about all of them, but most…

I went to visit the Fairy Doors in Ann Arbor with my Little Sister and our entourage.

    I blogged about it

    HERE

For Christmas my Father and Mother inlaw gave me my very own entrance to the Fairy land!

    (Thank you Ken and Cheryl!)

I plan on putting it up somewhere around the house… inside or outside, I haven’t decided.

The kids don’t know I got it, I’m not going to tell them.

I want to see how long it takes them to find it.

When the deed is done I will put up a picture so you all can see…

If you had an entrance to the land of fairies, where would you put it?

    OH!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  • Finally catching my breath!

This is the second year I’ve worked at the bakery during Christmas.

I worked 47 hours over a four day period and slept for nine hours during that same four day period…

Something doesn’t seem quite right about that, but I suppose it is what it is.

I will be enjoying my paycheck when it comes!

OH! I ROCKED the oven by the way!

I was baking  four sheets deep on two sides of all three oven shelves, so 24 sheet pans at one time.

I was using the big peel to remove them… Yeah, I felt like a rock star.

Only one little burn, and that was on my poking finger that I use to see if things are done, so it doesn’t count.

    christmas tree 09

This is the only picture I took over the whole holiday season!

Just the thought of picking up my camera seemed painful and exhausting.

So this it it… Our sad, little, fake tree.

We usually get a real tree, but I found this one at the after Christmas sale last year for seven dollars.

The thought of paying forty to fifty dollars for a fresh tree this year and then just throwing it in the snow bank after the holidays wasn’t appealing to me, so we stuck with this little one.

I think next year we’ll go back to a real one… We’ll see.

I am enjoying not having to clean up needles, and even though we only got about one tenth of our ornaments on it, I am having to put away less of them now!

I guess there are blessings in everything.

I hope you all had a WONDERFUL HOLIDAY!

I think 2009 has been a VERY good year.

    How was it for you????

  • Seedsower gave me a Santa Hat!  I LOVE IT> Thank you Beth.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

  • Choosing December as my post every day month probably wasn’t the best choice.

I’m excited for the holiday. I can’t believe there’s only five more days to Christmas.

  • Thanks you guys for all of the kind words and hugs and cheering up.
You remind me why I love Xanga… because of YOU!

Things at the bakery are getting crazy, Thanksgiving and Christmas are our two busiest seasons.

After next week it will slow way down and I will be scrambling trying to find things to do…

Lots of cleaning is in my future.

Until then it is so busy I am having trouble getting everything I need to get done done. It’s a little frustrating.

I  have some great As The Bakery Turns posts, but I can’t post them because it would make me feel guilty.

I am excited because Ben and I get to go Christmas shopping tomorrow! Without the monsters!

Maybe I will get some blog material out of it.

    So… I am doing well…

Working and trying  not to think about anything …

Not dealing with it, is something I’m really good at.

    How are YOU doing?

  • This weekend has been  awful.

I hope things get better next week.

  • Prayer request

The only person I have ever lost who was close to me was my Gram. She was 95 so it was an expected event and although I was sad, I wasn’t angry or taken by surprise, I just accepted it as a part of the circle. I was sad and there was a big hole in my life, in my routine,  for awhile, but it has gotten smaller as time has worn on and mostly now the memories are all love and happiness.

This morning I got a message from one of my oldest Xanga friends, that her BEST friend, another Xangan friend had a blood clot in her lung and is in the hospital on life support. They do not have hope for her recovery.

    LilanyB/Jessi

I’ve never really posted a prayer request before, but now seems a really good time to start.

I am posting a request for prayers for Jessi  and her family, but also for RizzlGrizzl , her best friend.

My heart aches for her and what she must be feeling.

Please pray for strength for Rachel, pray that she will be able to work through the hurt and loss and to find solace in the relationship she was blessed to have with such a kind and loving person. Pray that she feels her friends spirit and finds comfort in it.

Pray for Jessi that if there is any possibility of a recovery at all that it happens soon and that if there isn’t, pray for her family, give them strength to make any decisions they might have to make. Pray that they will have  knowledge that she will move on to a better place to join Heavenly Father who I know loves her and will welcome her with open arms.

    Amen

Can you tell I still got nothing??

  • Oops. I almost missed a day.

Unfortunatly I have nothing interesting to say.

I could blog about random things, but isn’t that what I do all of the time anyway?

The kids and I  survived the snow day today.

    Easier said then done.

I am not sure we will make it through tomorrow if there is another one!

    Here’s a little something random…

  • You must be COOL your part of MY club!

Today I dragged my Mom out shopping and we ran into an old friend of mine.

During the course of our conversation I asked him why he wasn’t on Face Book.

He replied that it was on his list of things to do in 2010, he was thinking about how to ”package” himself  since it would be strictly for self promotion.

That one comment started me thinking. (I know dangerous… Hush up!)

I’ve always known that blogging was all about the MEMEME stuff…

I mean for me it has been a way to share the way I see the world, to meet people and to well…

     SHOW OFF!

So it’s all about showing other people how COOL we are, (or think we are)… right?

    Here’s my question…

Do you think if you had been able to “wear”  your blog during high school you would have been a COOL kid?

I’m cool, see I even play with my food.

I’ve always been cool… in my own mind!
