  • Moon beams for Marsha

    morning moon and mist

Working nights has it’s advantages… I get to see the moon rise and set…

    moon and wheat shafts

Whenever I see something beautiful that has to do with the heavens I think of Marsha.

Which is fitting because tomorrow is her BIRTHDAY!

But since I don’t know if  I’ll be awake tomorrow, I’ll say it today.

mlbncsga… I LOVE being one of your morning glories!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YOU ROCK!

I’ll be working nights for the next week… so I imagine that during the day I’ll be sleeping. I hope.

    Have a great week!

  • I thought I saw a Fairy! Well, close…

We are spending a few days in Detroit with my Brother in law Mat, my beautiful Sister D and brilliant Nephew Sam.

Yesterday we went on a search for the Fairy Doors of Ann Arbor!

    HERE

The first door we found was the scariest and least expected.

    goblin door

Charlie found it and said that doesn’t look like a Fairy door!

When we looked at the map we found that it isn’t! It was a Goblin door… the kids wouldn’t knock on it because they didn’t want to get carried away by goblins.

    goblin door alone

Ironically it was the only door they didn’t knock on all day!

    dancing goblin flame

I think the Goblins were spying on us,  this lamp is right by the door…

    red shoes fairy door

There were Fairy entrances all over.

Some of the doors hung in midair.

    coffee house fairy door

There were always little gifts of money and candy left.

    knocking on the door

The kids had to knock on every one.

Some they could even peek inside of.

There was always another door on the other side leading to, presumably, the Land of Fairy.

This one also had a little fairy toy store in it.

    Fairy door house at library

There was a door at the Library… of course in the FAIRYTALE section!

We ran into two other families that were on the same quest for the doors and we gave a map to one other family to get them started on theirs!

We found at least five other doors but I don’t want to ruin it for you if YOU ever decide to go looking.

It was nice, FREE entertainment and I loved it almost as much as the kids did, okay, maybe more.

What’s the silliest thing you’ve ever done on vacation?

  • The King is dead. Long live the King!

    I am an Elvis fan.

Old, fat, young, thin, real or imaginary, I don’t care… it’s all about the myth and legend.

A couple of weeks ago Ben’s work place had it’s annual Jamboree.

    Elvis was there.

    Mancelona Elvis

He looked much better then the last time I saw, okay, stalked him… HERE.

(This is a local high school senior who is using the money he gets from his gig to fill his college fund.)

The kids and I are in THE Motor City for a few days for fun and frolick.

My honey had to stay home, I miss him already.

    Are you an Elvis fan?

Better yet! Have you ever seen or channeled Elvis?
