  • I think I’ve finally figured it out!

I weeded out my subscriptions and got rid of people I don’t know… Then I turned on my subscription digest!

Now we will see if I’m able to make it to all of my friends in  a timely manner… I hope so, I’m tired of arriving late to the party!

I was going to do a PPS09 post, but I don’t have it together  today.

So I will post more of my sisters visit.

When she comes up I become a geocaching tag along… I love it… all of the fun, none of the work!

    field of ferns

I get to follow along and take pictures to my little hearts content.

    fern close up

    kids menu finger

We went to the Upper Peninsula, along the way we stopped at a restaurant…

I’m not sure we will be eating there again…

I’m don’t know where they GET the fingers… but our’s were all intact when we left.

    man eating clam and D

WE stopped at Sea Shell City for a virtual cache where my sister proceeded to scare the kiddies by letting the man killing clam eat her hand.

(If you don’t hear from me again, it’s because she has KILLED me for posting this picture! )

    look UP 2 look UP

I did a bit of looking UP.

    worm hunter

Cooper did a bit of worm hunting.

That’s what he calls it, HUNTING worms.

throwing away a perfectly good kid

And my Sister kept trying to throw a perfectly good kid away!

It was a grand adventure. I can’t wait to do it again next year!

I hope that I will be able to keep up with my subs now, I really miss some of you!

How do you read your subs?

  • Nice photos! Looks like you had a marvelous day!

  • read them one at a time.  lol

hey, I love that that your sister is teasing the kids but looks scary!

No really I just try to read them as soon as I can but sometimes I get behind. Usually when someone includes me in their post is when I’m like wow and I was just getting tired of trying to keep up. It’ sa bonus that keeps me going.

  • I am getting ready to do exactly what you did! My subs are growing and I am not keeping up very well!

I love your photos, the one of your sister made me laugh! Its wonderful for kids to know someone who is not to old (since they think we are to old for anything) to pretend and laugh!!!

  • Angie I am so happy to see your stunningly beautiful pictures once again. Thank you for posting them. I am happy that you weeded out your subscriptions too. I did that a few months back and took care of many ” friends ” also. Now I have only a few and am happy to keep them in my circle.

  • This blog made me laugh. Esp. the look on your sister’s face! Your up pics were really interesting!

  • I am gonna do the same sub thing….again!
    I love the last pic!!

  • i love the giant man eating clam!  and the wooden pirate boat.  and i hate pretty much the rest of Sea Shell City.

oh, i love the giant red signs with white letters littering the highway, too.

  • I didn’t take my computer on vacation so I have been MIA. Miss you too. Great pics as usual.

  • I love the tree photos looking up… very cool.

I read my subs from my private page. Thanks for your note of encouragement today.

  • I try to read them all, but lately I have been getting busier.

Great pics!!  Thanks for sharing your day of fun.

  • Some of the people who posts too many recommendations and pulses are going to get trimmed. However since I love seedsower she is immune to being dropped.

Since I am not going to drop seedsower usually I will spot your blogs via your close association with her.

  • Those ferns are incredible! I have a thing for ferns! LOL! I always enjoy your pictures, and when I see you have posted, I try to make sure I stop in. When I get on the computer, I check my subscriptions and try to go down through the ones that are up on the side of my page. Then, if I have time, I check out some “friend” sites as well. I know I can never get around to everyone, but I do try to do the best I can. I also try to leave some kind of comment. Every now and then, after reading, I am at a loss for words, but as my husband could tell you, that is rare indeed!

  • whenever i go into subway or tubby’s sub shops, they usually have a big menu behind the counter and i just kinda look at it and read it !

  • lol Your comment about throwing away kids cracked me up!  Your son is so cute but his interests are a bit yucky. lol

I pre-read my subscriptions in the inbox and click to the sites from there. When I have the feeling to have missed someone for a longer time I directly click on the name list on my site.

  • P.S.: That is a cheap restaurant! Nice!

  • Love those ferns. And looks like you all had a good time.

  • I usually read thru my subs in the universal inbox and go to sites from there to comment. I need to go thru my subs, too.

Great pics, as always. Hope we hear from you again, soon!

  • As usual, great shots.  I love the ferns — such verdant green.  Great texture, too.  Thing about my subs is that it’s editing itself, since three or four of my closest friends on xanga have jumped ship to facebook.  What a drag.

  • I usually go into my subscriptions and just keep hitting back until I get to where I last left off reading and then I start reading posts from oldest to newest. It seems to work well.

I love the pictures of the ferns. That green is so vibrant!

  • Love your photos, as always. I thought of you the other day… Girly Girl and I were driving along a street where a beautiful old, dead tree always was… and it was GONE. I was so disappointed because I’d hoped to get a photo of it at sunset this fall and share it with my fellow tree-lover. I guess that just tells you not to put off capturing a moment of beauty!

I, too, purge subscriptions from time to time; and I often read them in the subscriptions window. My sister gets an email pushed to her to read since she’s not on Xanga that often. My Mom checks my site 15 times a day. I guess everyone does it differently! Hope to see you more, though!

  • I had to weed like you Ang . But for me you will always be a good and beautiful  flower to preserve..
I like the pictures of Copper near the nature .
    your sister is facetious !
    Love
    Michel

  • I always read them in the list of subs… My problem comes with comments… I don’t always take the time!

  • Great photos.  Looks like you and Sis have a great time together.  I always look forward to my sister’s visits.  It is sometimes hard to keep up with everyone.  We do our best!

  • Really cute. Now I’m craving jello.

  • I saw a circle on this site :

    Love      Michel

  • I click my comments first and read their blogs and comment. Then, if I have time, I glance at my universal.
    The ferns are beautiful.

  • I have you all bookmarked on my favorites Mornin Glorie…I usually check you all at least once a day….that is unless the boss is standing over my shoulder or I have to WORK…you worked that geocaching trick right…all the fun and lots of picture ops..and I was wondering – do the shells from Shell City come fromt the lakes or are they imported from the sea?       ilym

  • Wonderful photos & blog!  I enjoyed it so much!  I really don’t subscribe to that many people so my page opens up to my universal inbox and I simply go from there.  That’s probably my loss because I know there’s some good writers and people that I’m missing but it was never my goal to participate in a popularity contest when I started – so here I be!  Peace

  • Sure enjoyed your post and the photos. I just planted fern this year and home someday they’ll look as good as the ones in the photo you shared here.

  • i get the email digest, but usually i’ve already seen the posts on my subscription browser on xanga itself. but sometimes i miss stuff, so it’s nice to have the email feature

  • So, for the record, I was just trying to get my child to put his foot on the safe side of the rail to give a little push, I was not pulling a MICHAEL JACKSON. The kid looks little but he3 is solid a almost 50lbs!!

My sister is wonderful, I LOVE HER!!

  • @mlbncsga - They’re  all imports from the sea… This was the first time I have actually stopped there… the only thing in the whole store that comes from Michigan is the HUGE fudge counter. lol So I’m not sure I understand the appeal… it is major tourist trap… but hey, why not right!  I like going to the sponge market in Tarpon Spring, Fl… now that’s where I like seeing shells!   ( I love seeing your comments and little footprints too. You always make me feel special.)

  • @Random1974 - Sure… sure you were. ;-b

    I LOVE YOU!

  • @Gma_Joyce - I hope they come out looking the way you want them to! Thank you !

  • @shellisland - I’m glad you be here. Your right, you don’t need EVERYONE… you got me! (Well… and your Sis. ;-b )

  • Your sister is so funny! The post of her trying to throw a kid away reminds me of AA’s father trying to toss a kid into the leaf bin.

  • Made me wonder if you were still subbed to me. LOL Gonna have to see if I got dumped…. Even so, I was glad to see your pictures again. Your sister has an Oregon now? Does she like it? The ferns are so beautiful, great job capturing the greeness of them. Reminds me of frogs.

  • @craftea - OF course I’m still subbed to you! Always! The problem with the digest is that the posts are a day old by the time I get them… but I figure at least if xangas on top of it I’ll get there!

You know, I don’t know if she likes it… she has several different GPS’s. Charlie was begging her for one as a combined birthday/christmas present, so I see more caching in my future whether I want it or not! lol

  • @angi1972 - Yeah, I get my subs sent to me in an e-mail, which is delivered in the wee hours so I don’t get them till the next day. I don’t comment on each one each day, but I don’t expect anyone to do that for me either, even if I did post a blog each day! Which, as you know, I don’t, by a long shot. Funny, but I just weeded out my subs, too, becasue those that comment are the ones I know, and read their own blogs.

I have to tell you, I became a photographer through geocaching. The opportunities (as you’ve seen) are amazing once you get out there with a GPS. Charlie can lead you all over the place while you snap happy. I hope he gets one.
