  • Cherry Festival week is always fun.

(As happy as I am to see it come, I am just as happy to see it go. It’s nice to have the town back.)

My sister comes home for a week and we just GO!

One of the things we did was the Cherry Festival art fair.

    face painted boys

I love this picture because you can see how much they are alike as well as how different they are…

Cooper and Sam,  they are the genetic equivalent of each other…

My sister married my husband’s brother…

I can’t wait to see what they grow into!

    Isabelle face paint

Isn’t she a beauty? I am betting she takes after her Aunt and runs for Cherry Queen some day!

A MUST DO for every Cherry Festival is…

    got Gibby's

a bucket of Gibby’s fries with a generous amount of vinegar!

    What’s your favorite festival food?

  • I love this photo of the boys! My hubby’s aunts married brothers too!!!

I do hope your lovely runs for Cherry Queen, she is a beauty for sure!!!

I guess some of my favorite fair food are fried pies! We have these at our towns festival, and they make going worth the trip!

  • double cousins are the fairest in the land mornin glorie…corn dogs are my favorite festival food…well those and funnel cakes ….I’ll vote for Is to be the queen of all the cherries right now….ilym

  • Cute kids!  I didn’t know your sister married your hubby’s brother!  Cool!

I think my favorite festival food would have to be that bucket of french fries!

  • I don’t have a favorite… but I like funnel cakes, fry cakes, french fries…. oooo the giant turkey leg… sno-cones… cotton candy… fritters, frozen chocolate custard dipped in chocolate and covered with chocolate sprinkles… and peanuts and popcorn…. the butter toffee kind…. but never before riding and whirly swirly windy or bouncy up and down attraction that might be had… not even the merry-go-round…. getting old has enough ups and downs I guess…

  • I once thought about marrying my brother’s wife’s sister… for about thirty seconds… but she is a crazy person… not in a bad way… but not in a good way either!

  • vinegar on fries?   i dunno about that

  • @mercyless1 - Oh man… you gotta try it!  Not just any vinegar though… malt vinegar.

  • all beautiful children.all 3 have the same lips!

  • The future Cherry Queen can count on my vote! And the boys are just too cute! Double cousins, eh? That’s pretty cool!

My fav festival food would be Bahama Mama sausage sandwiches with peppers and onions. And of course, cold beer! Goes without saying, huh?

  • My niece is BEAUTIFUL…of course those boys rock!!1

  • Kettle Korn is good but I will take a taste of anything, too.

  • Great looking kids! I like Italian sausage with onions and peppers on a bun with mustard…..now, see what you went and done….you got me hungry! again. LOL!

  • Oh! Beautiful pics of the kids! I do love all the yummy smells and food at festivals! I think my fav is the waffles and funnel cakes with powdered sugar. Yum!

  • Beautiful children.
My favorite festival food would be elephant ears or raspberry scones. BTW my mother’s side of the family were fruit growers in Oregon and Washington. I always made sure that I got my share of cherries – I love them………

  • Ahh… vinegar on fries… such a reminder of my childhood summers staying with relatives in Canada.  I can’t get my kids to enjoy that, though.  My favorite festival food has to be funnel cakes.  I know they’re the equivalent of donut intestines, but I do love them in all their deep-fried tastiness.

  • i totally agree……cherry festival week is a blast!!

    great shots!

  • p.s i have a killer circle pic up!!!

  • In Vermilion, Ohio we have the Festival of Fish. The best thing about it is the Lake Erie Perch sandwiches! Since I don’t live there anymore I miss them even more than I should. Now my mouth is watering and I think I’ll make the trip up there and find a perch sandwich!

  • Really interesting shots. You can tell the difference between cultures. At our festivals/shows the food is stuff like corn on the cob, fairy floss, hot dogs, burgers, Ice Coffee and large lolly pops (some of those things are the same, but we don’t get fries in a container like that pictured above). But I don’t normally eat at shows but take food with me because prices are always marked up in Australia.

  • “My sister married my husband’s brother.”

WOW. That’s really cool and cute!

Cherry festival seems fun, I hope I’d be able to go to one someday. Though I think that would be a bit impossible. Oh well, who knows? Lol

  • A mess??? You say that like it’s a bad thing

  • Those boys are double first cousins…wow they will have fun growing together. Fun shots and I love your photographs (thanks for sharing)

  • We have double cousins in our fam too (distant but I claim them).  I think it’s very cool and your boy cousins are precious!  Your future cherry queen is beautiful now.  I can’t get over how she has grown and changed in just a couple of years!  We have a county fair and the first thing I go for is fresh lemonade – with cherries of course!  I’m going to get me a bottle of malt vinegar so I will have it ready to try with fries.  You’re the one who got me started on the fried pickles and I liked those so it’s bound to be good.  Peace

  • You and your sister are married to brothers??  How cool is that???

That looks like a fun day! Your daughter is growing up SO fast.
