that is the scared heart. We had a similiar statue growing up oin our dining room and never thought about it till someone came to visit that wasn’t catholic

Last year we were in the chapel in Paray le Monial ( Burgundy )where the nun Marie Alacoque had vision of Christ showing his heart and saying ” here is the heart which has so much loved the world .” Love Michel ps : I will put a link of my following comment
