I used to say, “Smile for the camera!” and they would snuggle in together and smile, even put their arms around each other.
That was then…
Oh my how they grow…
*sigh*
Off to take Charlie to his first orthodontist appointment…
I feel the pains in my pocket book already! Growing pains!
Who here has seen an orthodontist? Raise your hand!

Mornin Glorie…
dang I better be quick I’m first on accident! Yes they do grow up in a hurry and no I haven’t seen an orthodonist…but I still lym
OMG…I LOVE these pics! thanks for sharing…how are you?
::waves both hands wildly::
Oh, yes. Be prepared to spend lots of time and money! And if they still use Herbst appliances, I am an expert at re-hooking them when they come loose!
Good luck with your journey! Oh! Be sure to take pictures of them when they get their braces – and on the day they get them off! (Like I have to tell YOU to take pictures, lol!)
Your kids are such cuties!!!

*raises hand* I had a very small mouth (amazing huh?) and the orthodontist had pull teeth and he actually had to break my pallet to correct my teeth. Every time I went for an adjustment it meant 5 days of nothing but soup or mushy foods. Not a fun time, and I wore my ugly braces for almost 3 years!!!
Sorry you are feeling it in the pocketbook, its crazy what it costs these days!!!
Angi the pictures of your kids are mighty cute. Some days we just don’t feel like smiling, kids sometimes feel like this for a few year!
umm…me.
I didn’t get my braces till I was grown, so I had a better attitude about them. Plus it was quite trendy to be in ‘adult’ braces and I played it up for all it was worth-much to the horror of my kids
I feel for your bank account…(and I love the pictures
)
The only thing I see when I take a picture of my 16 y/o son is the palm of his hand. On the other hand, my almost 19 y/o daughter loves to take pictures of herself with my phone or my camera…I’ve got dozens. Son had braces, but daughter did not. 3 out of 4 kids wore them. I feel your pain.
chips off the ol’ blocks aren’t they?
i had braces on the bottom only. so far, none of my kids have needed them. but hub had a lot of dental/jaw issues so i won’t be surprised if em needs them someday.
he’s looking so ADULT! esp. in that last picture!!
Raises two hands, one for the alcoholic orthodontist in Texas who spent two years making my mouth an even bigger mess than it already was, and one for the sober orthodontist in Mississippi who spent two years fixing it. My daughter wore braces, but it was a pretty simple fix and her dentist was able to do it without sending us to an orthodontist.
Me! Crazy quack orthodontist in NJ….
good luck-maybe it won’t be bad.
So, now I know the age when they go from cheesy smiles to put-upon scowls. I never saw an orthodontist, but both our girls had to go. They have beautiful smiles, and we have no retirement fund! LOL! I was hopeful that those great smiles would snag them wealthy husbands, who could take care of us in our old age, but it didn’t work. I do love their guys, though, so it’s OK!
Hands up ! No I never had to do with an orthodontist !! A dentist , yes . When we have young children it was not usual to go to an orthodontist excepted severe cases .
Your two kids are cute, Ang, and also the one on the first photo in your previous post
Love
Michel
I had braces.
My smile might perfect now, but I still can’t eat popsicles because I imagine the way they felt on metal back when I was 13.
well, darling…I had the braces on for 2 years…I can still feel the ache, I think. I did not have to pay for them, but I “ouch” for you, just the same.
cute “smiles”!
I’ve NEVER been to orthodontist! dentist ..yes. orthodontist.. no.
Me! Me! My parents made me wait till I was about 16 and by then I was so desperate to get my teeth fixed (huge gap in the front) that I made a point to never complain about it. Or, “Yup, it hurts and I’m so happy about it.” Kendrah knows she’ll need some work done (her adult teeth can’t grow in, no room) but she isn’t at the same point as I was where it’ll be GOOD to have them.
Your kids look all grown up in their own surly and zombie ways. Love it!
Awww… the pictures are so cute!!
I’m currently having to go to the ortho regularly… Stupid braces!! haha.
PS: What kind of camera do you have? I always LOVE how your pictures turn out…
Wow! They are getting so big! And your daughter’s hair has gotten so long! I remember when y’all cut it short!
you probably should not have referred to them as monsters all these years. they may yet live up to that name?
Those pictures are just tooo cute.
I have a 5 year old who still loves me but there have been moments when I think she is going to turn to the dark side and be with the other kids.
i have a reflection photo on my digital detours blog post from yesterday http://digitaldetours.blogspot.com/ :)
I needed to but my parents didn’t believe in it until a kid is 18 and is paying for it themselves.
Pretty adorable faces. Even the smirks.
those facial expressions are priceless. hey have you been out for morels….. i have found a slew load in my own back yard!
@the_best_stuff - Not yet, heading out TODAY! Glad you found some… now you need to post on how you EAT them!
hmmm might have to do that!
They are adorable, smiles or not.
