  • Warning picture may be disturbing to some people…

Yesterday, my friend Dorothy called to tell me the Pig Tree was blooming.

It happens twice a year and reminds me of my childhood.

Interesting what you see growing up in an agricultural community.

If you were driving down the road and saw this, would you find it disturbing?

I am a little intimidated by my new toy…

Somehow I thought it would jump out of the box and into my hands and I would know how to use it.

I am discovering that it’s going to take a little more then that to find the right this and that. *sigh*

I am going to have  so much fun learning it.

Did I tell you her name is Delia?

    Delia the D80.

I’ll have pictures to post soon!

    Elephant waffles

    Playing with my food.

I always carry an elephant in my pocket.

You never know when you will find whipped cream alps.

(Notice that my husband isn’t even phased… One of the many reasons I love him.)

Have you ever seen a grown woman playing with her food?

Do YOU play with your food?

  • Don’t do that with your fingers!

Driving home from a birthday party the other day… the words that every Mother dreads hearing popped from my daughters mouth.

“I know what sex is Mom.” Isabelle proclaimed.

“You do?” I asked lifting an eyebrow  ”What is it?”

Then I watched in horror as my eight year old,my little girl, held up first one hand and then the other.

“It’s when a boy takes his penis” She thrusts one finger out straight   ”and puts in it a girls vagina” she held the other hand up forming a circle with her finger and thumb “and goes like this!”  moving her fingers back and forth… in and out…

(I know you guys are trying it… cut that out!)

“Oh.Where did you learn that?”  I asked reminding myself to watch the road.

“My friend Mitchell told me, he’s in fifth grade, they watch a video.”  (Note to self… don’t let Isabelle hang out with Mitchell)

I was not ready for this conversation. I thought I had two more years, at least.

“Can we talk  about this later Is? When we’re home and I’m not driving and I’ve had time to think about what I want to tell you?” I asked her, slightly pleading “I want you to be able to ask me anything you want to know, okay?”

‘Alright.” she said. She stared out the window for a bit. “Mom? I want babies, but if I have to do this, with a boy,” she said making the gestor again “I don’t think I will.”

I tried not to laugh as I asked her not to do “that” again.

    Is and P

Is with one of her best friends…

When did you have THE TALK? Either with your parents or your own kids?

  • During sharing time at Sunday School the person teaching the lesson asked the kids if anyone knew what “omnipotent” meant. Cooper quickly raised his hand and said “ALL POWERFUL!” very loudly… my jaw dropped and I thought wow my kid is brilliant! He must have gotten that from Ben. Then I noticed his teacher beside him trying not to grin at the look on my face, she had whispered the answer in his ear when I wasn’t looking.

I still think my kid is brilliant.
