No club, really, except for the ones that I used to make up with my cousin, which consisted of shunning our sisters. Not unlike Calvin’s G.R.O.S.S. club. I do belong to the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, but I hate their conferences, so it really doesn’t do me any good except remind me every other month how other people seem to be getting published! Maybe I should join a club. Wonder what that would be.
we meet on monday the first and third of each month at 7pm and I got introuble twice for talking too much-I told hubby I’ll get kicked out yet. lol
I love clubs/groups. I was in an art group for a season.
I was the secretary of the Wives Club for my husbands submarine when he was in the Navy. It was such a bunch of mean-spirited, gossiping biddies I nearly kicked them all out of my apartment – including the captain’s wife. I was so disgusted with them I quit the club and later refused when I was asked to be Ombudsman for the boat. I was young and didn’t realize at the time that I generally go against the herd, which bodes ill for participation in social groups.
I like clubs. I’ve been in a couple of sororities – that was a hoot and I made lifelong friends. My whole family belonged to a 4-H club for years. You bring a lot to the table in a photography club so I really hope it works out well. Peace
Hi Ang.Not much of a club member myself.Prob too fond of doing my own thing. Not keen on being told what to do I think!Circles up soon, having said that!
@saintvi - I would hate to be in a club of all women… don’t think I could handle that… sometimes being all girls brings out the worst in some of them…
Glad you surrvived it!
nope. no clubs for me.
circles up Ang
Ohhh, camera club… that sounds like fun. I haven’t been in any clubs since college.
i was a stars wars fan club once.
I am not in a club as an adult. But I was in a lot of clubs in high school and college. I am a member of a historic site’s friends group but it is not really a “club”.
I was a part of this club called Barn Bums where we were trying to find out ways to help our stable. I quit my Junior year of high school–too busy trying to graduate early
I was also part of a club called Pause 4 Paws where we helped rescue animals and find homes for them (It was a club in one of my schools)
these can be great. Book club. wednesday night prayer meeting.
A camera club sounds like more fun than the club I formed when I was in junior high. It was called the Red Rat Club and all the members (both of us) had pet rats that we carried around in our sweat shirt pocket. Rats are smart and sweet tempered but their incontinence makes them a little undesireable as indoor pets.
i tried to be part of the journalism club in high school but there weren’t enough of us so they canceled it and then i tried to be part of the drama club and did work, backstage on lights, of course, and tried the chess club but I was too much of a FREAK for that, so, you know…
