  • Self portrait, finally *whew*

    Poloroid portrait blurred

    The subject was hobbies.

I like taking Polaroids. They remind me of my childhood.

My favorite picture of my sister and I is a Polaroid taken at BK. We were celebrating my fifth birthday.

She is making that all teeth smile three year old’s do for the camera, she hates it… but it makes me happy to look at her and think that at one time she was that little kid.

Anyway, it’s one of my precious possessions.

    Poloroid portrait

    This was another attempt…

I think I like the top one better.

I’m still getting the hang of taking my own picture… it isn’t as easy as it seems!

Have you ever taken your own picture?

You might age yourself by admitting this, but do you have a polaroid of yourself?

To see how Seedsower blew me out of the water again…

(It’s okay, that means I have nowhere to go but up!)

    go HERE!

  • I like the top one better, too.

  • that is very cool- is self portraits the new theme?

  • I think, because of the nature of my business, I have to look at myself more than most people and try to come to some sort of peace about the reality.  Funny thing, in college, I had to make a self-portrait of what I would look like at 60.  I’m not sure where that is now, but I can tell you that I got the placement of my hair completely upside down.

I also like the first one.  Almost like Wilson on Home Improvement.

  • LOL ~ I like the first one too!!!

  • I LOVE the top shot! It is good! You are in the water girl!

  • Oh! Really nice

  • @angeltears2431 - No, it’s still circles and faces in things… this is just a learning experience Beth and I are doing… figuring out the new cameras and I’m trying to come to some sort of peace with looking at or taking pics of myself… since it is my least favoroite thing to do. lol

  • It is so wonderful to see you!

  • I think I like your look without the beard.   Seedsower sent me. It’s all her fault.  Have a wonderful rest of your day!

  • you got it done

  • These are awesome!

  • I have a polaroid of myself as a child. It aged a lot – well, just like I did. lol

They aren’t produced anymore, are they?

  • P.S.: Cool portrait ideas!

  • So inventive!

  • I still haven’t done the self portrait thing, but I’m going to.  I do have some polaroids of me.  They are hopelessly STUCK in one of those infamous albums we all put our photos in back in the day.  I was even skinny (well sort of), but I still wasn’t any better looking!!!!  I love the self portrait exercise you and Beth are doing – very good stuff.  Peace

  • There are a lot of Polaroids of me as a kid. They have stopped making Polaroid film (paper replacements) now. If you want some stock up from shops with the remaining stock. Now that digital has come in, Polaroid is a dying art, but if you ask me it is a beautiful idea and they shouldn’t do away with it.

  • Haha, cool stuff! I’m pretty much a camera whore, I have tons of digital pics of myself… But no polaroids >.<

  • Well now, I like the bottom pic. It’s nice to see my friend, every now and then.

  • Just to cute! I did a paper in school on the FX 70 awesome camera!

  • @buddly47 - AW Thank you! I like seeing you too… Although your beard and mustache don’t come off as easily as mine do.

  • Yup….I was about 3?  I was standing naked…playing with mud.  Not a picture I want to share with people!  :)

    Later,

    Gina

  • i love love love these!

  • I like the bottom one better but that might just be cause there you can clearly see your pretty face– a rare treat!

Yes, there are plenty of polaroids of me out there in the world, some of which I hope never fall into the wrong hands, LOL!

  • keke I love polaroids! DId you manage to stock up on polaroid film before they were discontinued?  ;(

  • I really like the first photo Angi.  You and Seedsower do such an awesome job of taking pictures.  As you know I like a point and shoot camera myself.  That is why we had a polaroid, nothing fancy to it,  just click and amazing there you were!  I am aging myself.  But yes we have polaroid pictures.  I’ll have to dig some out some time.

  • You can still get film for Polaroid cameras?  I like both pictures but especially the image in the Polaroid in the second!  :D

I have taken my own picture, but normally with a tripod and self-timer.  And yes, I still own a Polaroid.  I have many B&W Polaroids of me and my brother that my father took when we were very young.  And I used to sell Polaroid cameras and film (sometimes by the case load).

  • Very cool shots!!  How do you do these things?

  • i love this, angi!!!  you’re right, the DOF makes the first one!

  • Both pictures are great!

I may not have a polaroid of myself, but there are some floating out there…

  • I like the top one; and I do have a polaroid of myself… somewhere. I had one of my daughter’s pre-K graduation even; but it has faded very strangely.

No, I don’t take good photos of myself. I think you have to be a young teenage girl to do that well… Girly Girl has THOUSANDS of herself… and most are pretty good. God forbid a police officer ever asks if we have a recent photo of our child… I might even be able to match the OUTFIT she’s wearing on any given day!

  • <==== This is mine.

  • Clever ideas for the pictures!

  • I find it much easier to draw myself than to photograph myself.

  • Cool!  Very artsy.  I like the first one the best, too, for the depth of field.

  • See my new profile pic: It’s my latest self-portrait.

  • This is super cool! Love this little endeavor.

  • LOVE ‘em! Polaroid’s are great!
