  • If you can’t beat’em, join’em…

    Snow day today!

So the kids and I are going to go enjoy the snow. Snow shoeing and sledding at Mom and Pop’s house.

If we’re lucky there will be hot chocolate!

    I’ll be taking pictures.

I want the snow gone, but it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere so I may as well  enjoy it.

You know what I miss?! Making snow angels. I haven’t made a snow angel in forever.

I miss laying in the snow and having it hug my body and staying still for a bit and just listening to the silence…

Somehow, even though I miss it, the thought of lying in the snow right now is REALLY unappealing.

Is there something you used to do that has lost it’s appeal in adulthood?

  • love the pic.  so how much snow do you have up there?  i will come up with the snowmobile and we can hook the sleds up!

when i was a kid i always picked my nose…….and now i,,,,, okay i still do it when no one is looking.  i just dont eat them anymore!!!!

  • I’m the same way with snow angels. They’re so much fun! But so… wet…

  • we have been in the 70′s and 80′s for over a month now-I don’t suppose you want to hear that tho?

the only thing I could never get enough of as a kid was the ‘Tilt-O-Whirl’ at the carnival. Now notsomuch.

  • Oh, look. All my carrying on about snow days and now you’ve got one!  Maybe yours will be followed up with what we had just days after our snow — 75 degrees and sunny!!  (Dare to dream, Angi….)  I love your “teaser” pic — and I think I see that your baby is the same brand as mine.  Is that an N for Nikon I spy?  (I have the D70 and absolutely adoooooore it.)

  • @the_best_stuff - I am constantly telling someone (my daughter shhh) Not to eat them… ick!  The snow was ALL gone Saturday and Sunday morning and then we got dumped on eight inches Sunday evening… everything was canceled today. They are still plowing roads. It’s gorgeous out though… The sun is shining… beautiful.

  • @turningreen - It is! Mine’s a D80… if I need help I’ll know who to bug!

  • I used to blow bubbles with a straw in my milk. Now, that is just…no fun. The snow is gone here but now it is raining, raining, raining.

  • yes, birthdays aren’t as much fun as they used to be.

  • Dance. I used to love to dance…but somehow it just doesn’t seem to appeal to me anymore…maybe because I feel I lost that ~Shwinggg~.

  • Awww Angi!  I would LOVE to lie in the snow…could be because I never have though, hey???  (((HUGS)))

  • Nope Mornin Glorie….I’m still the same kid…well, actually I use to love to climb to the top of the pine trees and get them rocking so that you could swing from tree to tree, that was really fun – but I’m afraid the pines wouldn’t hold me up anymore…and there just aren’t as many pine thickets…..oh well  but if it were possible I would still love to do that!…..where are the pictures Ang?

  • Getting dirty. ‘What little kid doesn’t like playing in mud or in the rain? While I may still play in the rain, playing in mud sounds like bad news.

  • @mlbncsga - I’m still learning things. lol I’m getting a few though! Didn’t you see the pig tree?

  • I used to love building snowmen and eating snow. (I’d always get yelled at for the last one, but it loved it anyway.)  Hope you had lots of fun in the snow! This winter seems to have lasted forever, hasn’t it?

  • must be.  THough still enjoy dancing in the rain!

  • I just made a snow angel ,I always do with every single snow!  I still swing on the swings at the park….when my butt fits!!!

I posted my challenge a while so you could see it.

  • What I don’ t do now that I’m an adult: eat peanut butter and baloney sandwiches.

  • yeah, digging up my nose. It just doesn’t do it for me.

I still love playing in the snow though. My brothers just made fun of me last week. And they’re younger.

I hope you weren’t moving while taking this pic. I am just gonna assume you weren’t.

  • @ideaguy - You are a man after my Charlies heart. Add Miricle Whip and  that is his favorite lunch. I refuse to make them for him, he has to make them himself. He’s ten now, he can handle it

  • Dear Angie,

Not really an answer to your question, but I’m freezing just thinking of laying in the snow! I’m glad it doesn’t snow here (except in the mountains, of course). Frankly, I wish the rain would stop for good.

  • Snow!  What a wonderful challenge with your new camera!  Gotta take some snow pictures!

  • I forget how different the weather can be up there!

  • Just the fact that I actually like to be outside when there was snow. I dont like that anymore. In fact, we use to always run outside as soon as it was snowing, it was more fun when the snow was coming down. Now, I like being indoors
