We leave to get our Turkey Day plans started tomorrow! *DEEP BREATH*

I still have miles of laundry to go before I sleep. I still have to pack everyone and every thing up. I still have to work in the morning. *DEEP DEEP BREATH*

  • I’m loving this year.  I don’t have to do anything but go to my mom’s.  I love off years when I’m not hosting.  LOL!!

  • I bet those backyard turkeys of yours are starting to panic!!!  LOL ~ fortunately as we do not have Thanksgiving in the UK….I’m still calm….but I understand where you are at girl!!!

  • dang you got turkeys in your back yard. no fair!

So my plans are to eat, nap, hunt, eat, nap hunt some more.  We go to my grandparents house for lunch and then all my inlaws come over for dinner. Its a very fun weekend for me.

Deep breath its gonna be okay.

  • Not panicked… just pissed!  My husband has again dropped the ball on simple tasks he promised to achieve before we left.  So now on top of all the stuff I have to do for Dec. 1st volunteer project I also have to pick up his slack!  I’m already over the holidays!

  • I. have. so. much. to. do.

To answer your question.  Yes.  The panic is setting in.

  • I’m too busy to make plans.  I only get Thanksgiving day off, so I’m not really making any plans other than to stop by Matthew’s grandma’s house for dinner.

  • @the_best_stuff - We used to have hundereds of them… My oldest son’s first word was TURKEY! But then they put in a new subdivision behind our house and now we only get about four small groups of three or four through out the day. I was a little ticked at themthis fall… they ate the few grapes my vines gave me this year… it was funny watching them jump up and down on the fence looking for them  though.

  • you win the internet for quoting Robert Frost.  sort of.

have a good time.  even with dirty clothes it will still be thanksgiving.

  • I dont have thankgivings,  since I am in the UK,    but I love eating turkey.

  • I wish I would panic, then maybe I’d get off xanga and off my butt and start the cleaning and baking that needs to be done today.

  • Thank goodness we don’t have that added pressure at this time of the year. Christmas looming is bad enough!

  • Good thing you’re going away for Thanksgiving.  Looking out my window at those turkeys would make me feel guilty as I ate my dinner!  :-p

I panicked more when my kids were younger, for the same reasons you are now.  That gets better over time, lol!

    Happy Thanksgiving, Angi!

  • those are awful nice

  • just heading to the inlaws’ no stress or worry there…

  • We’re going to my aunt’s house. We only have to bring dessert. Phew!

Good luck with your holiday. Hang in there!

  • tis the season for panic.
I’ve got way too much going on today.

  • Nope, no panicking here. I’m making a pie tomorrow to take to the inlaws in Thursday. Easy peasy. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving and have a chance to relax a little!

  • Haha, your birds should better start panicking!

  • I’m not panicked! Karen’s got everything under control! Only thing I have to handle is the remote, and my knife and fork!Haha

  • Happy Thanksgiving.

Such a lovely holiday I wish we celebrated it.

  • Turkeys sure are funny looking!  We’re flying to TX.  I would have been panicked if I had had a normal week, but my poor daughter got strep throat, so I have been forced to forgo some prior commitments and buckle down.  I have been doing laundry continuously for 2 days and the packing is almost done WAY ahead of schedule because of it.  Of course, now I have to carry refrigerated liquid antibiotics on the plane and a handy-dandy Rx for my son in case he catches what she’s got…..everything has a price!!!  Good luck with your own laundry mountain!

  • Not paniced but my nose is a little out of joint…Husband was going to help out… so I have everything planned out to the minute and he throws a wrench into the works. Tonight was kitchen cleaning and gathering of ingredients. Instead it is dinner out with a coworker of his (who is a lot of fun and super nice). I made the deal we’d go IF he washed the dog and then did a COMPLETE clean-up of the bathroom including mopping the floor…He says he’ll do it. He’d better or he AND the dog will be in the basement kennel during Thanksgiving dinner.

  • One thing at a time Ang.  I know you’d like to get EVERYTHING done but if you don’t….it’s OK.  I say so.  I imagine everyone who loves you will say so too.  Cool turkey pics!  Peace

  • Those backyard turkeys seem fairly calm in the photos. I wish I were! I’m with you on the pre-holiday stress… it’s as predictable as the turkey and the pumpkin pie, don’t you think? Yet somehow it all gets done, doesn’t it? And everyone has a good time. So, take deep breaths, my dear… sneak a glass of wine between laundry loads; and relax. It will all work out.

  • Nope, no panic here! Safe days wishes for your backyard turkeys!

  • Well no.

I don’t really do T-day and since I’ve been so blasted sick these last few months, this will not be the year we start. I will order one of those turkey meals from the grocery store and bake a bit.I love your turkeys-one thing I don’t have and probably never will (they are really, really stupid), but I do admire wild ones.Good luck with your holidays!

  • just take the family to a buffet, lol

  • Poinsettia Show prep.
Have a safe trip to Motor City!

  • Don’ t panic , Ang . All of things come at time even Thanksgibving .

    Poor turkeys !

    Love

    Michel

  • I will be at work… scheduled for 12 hours.

    dan

  • luckily no panicking for me. the “elders” do the cooking. I usually help my mom and make a dessert. its usually pretty calm.

  • thanks to God not!  we got an invite out, and i only have soda and pie.  WOW.  I give thanks for THAT!

  • I just started the list of things I need to do. Panicking isn’t going to help me accomplish it so I am just going to do what I can and not care about the rest. I’m coming down with a cold, though, that makes me want to say “who cares?” to everything, though.

  • Thanksgiving isn’t celebrated in NZ, but it often falls around my birthday so I have my own little thanksgiving!  I’m starting to panic about Christmas though.  Only 4 weeks away, NO!!!!!

    Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

  • @buddly47 - I hope your thankful for Karen …

  • It’s More Than A Day Morning Glorie

    As Thanksgiving Day rolls around,
It brings up some facts, quite profound.
We may think that we’re poor,
    Feel like bums, insecure,
But in truth, our riches astound.

    We have friends and family we love;
We have guidance from heaven above.
    We have so much more
Than they sell in a store,
We’re wealthy, when push comes to shove.

    So add up your blessings, I say;
Make Thanksgiving last more than a day.
    Enjoy what you’ve got;
    Realize it’s a lot,
And you’ll make all your cares go away.
