  • Ten minutes in a wet field with a broken camera

This morning I decided to wade through a field on my way home from work.

    lonley tree

Every morning I drive by this field, it always looks different depending on what’s going on with the sky.

I know this one isn’t the sharpest… but I still like it.

This brings me to the broken camera part…

My camera just isn’t working, it gets a little frustrating.

Especially  when I want to take pictures of something happening RIGHT NOW.

Well I suppose I will stumble along for awhile longer with what I have.

Occasionally it still does the trick.

I haven’t had much time to get out and take pictures.

So for now I will use my broken camera and settle for ten minutes in wet fields here and there.

Before next summer I might have enough money stashed to get exactly what I want.

When you want something do you have trouble waiting for it?

  • Wonderful pics. I love the birds. Sorry about your camera being broken. Fun to plan for a new one, though. I have trouble waiting until I find something else to distract myself with.

  • Still awesome photos!

Yes, once I start looking and comparing prices it’s kinda hard to wait.

  • I love the birdie photo.  Sometimes your photographs give me goosebumps–they’re THAT good!

  • I think the pics are wonderful anyway.

as for waiting for things….**sigh** it is the story of my life

  • The pictures are great in spite of the camera…..I hate waiting for anything…I want it yesterday!

  • I love the b&w of the lone tree out in the field!!

And yes, I am not very patient waiting for things…

  • Broken or not, these are still beautiful shots.

  • CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!  These pics are awesome tooooooo!!!

  • I love the pictures, and yes, I don’t like to wait on things. However, I am sort of slow about looking at all the specs.etc on things. My Nikon 80 “broke’ on a trip to California last Spring. I sent it in for repair because the warrenty was out. 200.00 for the repair, but it work’s great. I want a D90 but I’m still reading, collecting specs. on the camera.

Enjoyed your pictures and thank you for dropping in.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

    Jim

  • crap -I guess I need to drop my camera so I can take some wonderful photos like that.

do you think your batteries are wearing down?

  • I really love the second photo!  Beautiful Fall colors!

  • I have a perfectly good camera that doesn’t take pictures like that.  You’re an artist!!!  If I had a job, I’d buy you a new camera but I don’t, so I won’t.

  • I like your photos Angi! They are always so good!

I think we all have trouble waiting sometimes, but I have learned that I don’t need what I cannot afford. It took me sometime to learn this lesson, but its a good one and it makes life alot easier!

  • Pretty good pics for a broken camera! What camera is it that you really, really, really want?

  • Loved the pictures in all their stark, almost-winter beauty.  I hardly get anything without a long wait, so it’s no problem for me to have delayed gratification.

  • Yup.  I want it now!  Those are some great pics of a really bleak landscape.

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE the 2nd photo!!

  • Cool photos! I think I did pretty well waiting for the latest Karen Kingsbury book that came out this week! LOL

  • The photos aren’t that vivid, but the artistic sense is there. I love the 2nd & 5th pictures.

  • I don’t have any debt – no car or home payments, no credit card balance – all because I live by the credo “I don’t need it if I can’t afford it.”

  • lovely pics, thanks for sharing!

    hugs,
    sage

  • I did until it was time to get it and then I waited!

  • Camera is broken?  How are you taking the pictures?

Yes, I have trouble waiting, but sometimes, I don’t have a choice.

  • what’s wrong with the camera?

  • i wouldnt have known that your camera was broken. whats srong with it?

  • Seriously, what’s wrong with the camera? These pictures came out perfectly!

  • Somehow you manage to take great pictures. Wow.

  • I love the third pic.  Your broken camera is genius. =P

Depends on what the oject of my want is…. i.e., if I want coffee, I get coffee.  If I want a trip to Japan, I wait and prepare.   etc, etc.

  • Hi Angi,  Your pic’s are very lovely.  Like me, my 2 camera’s are broken.  I feel like selling stuff on an online auction to raise the money to put towards a new one.  But don’t know what to start with, baby clothes, books, the dog, my mere male…. (Opps did I say the dog?)

  • Wonderful pictures

  • They’re still good. =]

  • I lost my camera  a couple of weeks ago when I was in Galway. I had my daughter and SIL tear their house apart looking for it and alas it’s gone.  So I’ll take your broken one I bet now your glad you have it…remember the old saying about no shoes?   I love the tree!

Thanks for the recommend, the more people that see the video the better the chance is he’ll get caught.

  • I bought a camera a while back and I know nothing about ISO settings and the such, so I’m stuck with a camera that takes awesome pictures but I don’t know how to use. Good thing my boyfriend is a professional photographer so he sets it up for me.

love the pictures, even if you think they’re not sharp enough…i can’t tell. :)

  • Broke or not I am envious of your camera.  My cheap Wal-Mart camera can’t take a picture of anything.  It’s sad, really.

    So, how have you been?

    Hugs, Tricia

  • @mercyless1 - @WinsomeONE -  The auto focus is broken… and the shutter delays… there is no manual over ride so I’m stuck… ahhhh well… I am so close to a new camera I can taste it… I’ll just hang in there… winter is slow picture taking time anyway… who wants to sit in a snow bank for a picture? Well, me… but I can pretend I’m sane for awhile.

  • some moody stuff you got here!

  • @angi1972 - Sorry to hear that.  Xmas present?

  • You take good picture. I specially love the first one. It looks really good. :D

  • @iStephanieMarie - You get all of the fun of learning how though! Hope you enjoy it!

  • Those a gorgeous photos, especially the final one. :) You are very talented!

I usually have trouble waiting up until the moment before I am about to get the thing I wanted, then I feel like, “Oh, already? I’m sure I could have waited a little more.” Heheh, I’m strange like that!

  • what incredible landscape pictures.

  • The stuff I want are usually the kind of thing most modest people avoid. But, I generally do.

Great pic.s I likez the fourth one.

  • I’m usually pretty good at waiting for things I want.  But if it were my camera…I think I’d be running to the store to buy a new one!!!
