  • Now tell me who are YOU, You , you…

I have three days to come up with a self potrait and I don’t know what to do!

It all boils down to what I see myself as and I DON”T KNOW anymore!

My friend Amanda did a wonderful list of all of the things she is and I have been working on my list but I’m not sure it’s helping yet. My list  is painfully short.

If I were to ask you right now what you are, would you know what to say?  Would you stop at one word or do you have a list?

    Alright, so I am asking…

    How do you define yourself?

(If anyone has any good self portrait ideas, I’ll take those too… I’m at a loss!)

  • They’re up to something… naughty…

    morning glories

The morning glories are coming to an end…

I was surprised that I did get a few blue- Heavenly blues towards the end.

Soon it’ll be time to collect seeds for next year.

I’ll put them away in the cupboard and next summer…

we’ll see what kind of  naughty business they were up to…

Hope you all had a great weekend.

  • Yesterday I got THE call…

“Mom, my tummy hurts and my ear aches, can you come and get me?”

So I pack up the littlest monster and off to the school I went.

I picked her up, brought her home, and took her temperature, NORMAL.  I had the talk with her…

“Isabelle! Are you faking?!” She gave me a sheepish look so I continued the lecture.

“In life we have to go on even when we don’t feel like it, Daddy goes to work with a hurt back, sometimes I don’t feel good. Unless you blow chunks, have an accident, or are bleeding profusely, you stay in school… Since you said your  sick and your home sick, then you go to your room and stay there, you can read or play in there but no television or computer, your sick.”

Yes, I am a mean Mama!

She played, read and slept in her room, and later that night when I wasn’t at home she blew chunks all over the hard wood floors in the living room and Ben cleaned it up.

When I got home  I went in her room to see how she was. “I hear you threw up?”

To which Isabelle replied “Does that mean I was sick Mom?”

I laughed and said “Didn’t you know?!”

Did you play sick as a child?

What do you do when your own child tells you they don’t feel well?

     Do you always believe them?

  • The Question is…

    pop art eek

I just realised that my Photoshop CS3 is gone temporarily until my honey uploads it for me later!

    Now it just feels… wrong!

What is one thing that would throw you off kilter if you didn’t have it?

    *****EDIT****

All up and running again… Whew, that feels better.

I am enjoying a little freedom.

Next week I plan on using it to take a drive and get lost somewhere I can take pictures!

Until then I’m slapping up a few oldies but goodies.

Just because this is how I feel today…

It’s almost time for Isabelle and I to plant more bulbs!

Do you think if I put in another 150 I’ll have my river of purple next spring?

    I have a problem though… I can’t tell where I planted the last ones…

    ahhh well.

It feels like fall today. Are you ready?

  • I found my thrill… On Blueberry Hill…

Today was the first day of school for my monsters.
It was only a half a day though so we had the rest free…

    Oh what to do?!

Go to Buchen’s Blueberry Hill and pick blue berries of course!

    trooping into the berry patch

    Trekking in.

I don’t remember the first time I went to Buchen’s.

    I was very little.

I remember sticking my hand into a bush to pick a berry and pulling out a big spider instead.

We haven’t been berry picking in a few years.

The kids, my Gram,  and I used to go every year.

Gram  would call and say “It’s time to go picking berries!”

We would set a lawn chair in front of a good bush for her, once she’d picked it clean, we would move it to the next one.

Since my Gram passed away and I haven’t had anyone to remind me to go, I’ve let a few seasons pass.

    blue blue berries

    I’ve missed it.

    I miss her.

There are rows and rows of bushes all dripping with berries.

Mr and Mrs. Buchnen always let the kids eat as many as they wanted and would never take the money for an extra pound when I try to pay for them…

She or he  would laugh and say it was part of the picking, you had to sample the wares.

In the past we would use belts to hold the buckets, the kids scolded me for forgetting them this year.

    Bluberries up high

    Maybe I’ll remember next year.

Tomorrow I will spend the day freezing the nine pounds of berries we picked.

The only reason the kids stopped picking is because I threatened not to take them to the beach..

If you ever get a chance to pick your own, it’s a fun relaxing thing to do.

The rows are narrow and tall.

A person can be picking on the other side of a bush and you’d  not even know it.

The kids like to hide and duck out to scare me upon occasion.

I threatened them with serious consequences if they did it to someone else, we don’t want some poor old lady or man having a heart attack.

    Cooper progress report

If you go, get a big bucket, don’t worry about getting ALL of the berries off of a bush, and

     don”t forget your sun hat!

Do you have something that you’ve done ever since you were a child that’s special to you?
