YES, It’s true…
In the spirit of not holding anything back…
I thought I would share this with you.
We have turtles.
Three, two red eared sliders and a painted.
In the summer we put them in the pond…
It’s actually a 150 gallon cattle tank with a fountain filter in it.
This is Shelly, the painted, she is the least shy.
The others are always hiding.
This is her picture from last year.
You can’t really tell, but she is much bigger now.
I just thought you should know…
In the interest of full disclosure…
I didn’t want you to be surprised that I have…

Well they are absolutley adorable. I’d love some pet tortoises, cos i have no water for the poor turtles.

I actually have a couple of secrets:

Umm…. that’s about it for now.
LOL… that comment / / / totally makes me look like “trailer-trash” (not that there’s anything wrong with that!!!)
We also have a RES, named Fred, inherited from another family. Fred’s over 20 years old as far as we know. Lucky you have the room for 150 gallon tank! Fred is only in a 25 gallon tank with custom sundeck I built.

Heh, I love turtles. My mom has one she calls Skippy. She puts him out in her garden pond for fun, but the poor thing always crawls out and goes around back and scratches on the back door to be let in like a dog. I swear this is true. It’s the talk of the town, lol. Shelly is very cute.

i have three of them myself….two not so small ones anymore and one big granddaddy turtle…they are so cute when they all sit on top of each other…..though if feed them feeder fish…they aren’t so cute then when they are chasing down the fish like sharks do seals…..its scary and awing to see them be the little cold blooded killers they are….mine are red eye snappers i think…red eye something anyway……

Well, not really unless I start counting all the birds my cat is bringing into the garage to play with and eat!

And I’ve got two pet birds most people don’t know about.
Sweet! I like turtles. I can’t stand seeing them on the road and not getting to the other side. I can’t tell you how many I have rescued. One day on the way to church, Beloved stopped 3 times for me to save them. — Everyone always reminds me they carry diseases but that is what the pair of gloves in the car is fo! (lol)
My son found a painted turtle like 2 years back. HE STILL HAS IT!! and that sucker got big!
I think those turtles are cool and I love the red on yours.
I rarely see turtles of this colour!

@TheGreenPanther - I have never HAD Crabs… but I am thinking it would be.
@streetphotos - In the fall they get moved inside to a fifty gallon aquarium in the boys room… It makes for a tight winter for the, but It is so much fun watching them chase fish around and try and mate with each other… they do this fun face fanning thing… lol Anyway… during the summer we try to let them have their privacy! We send our greetings to Fred!
They are adorable. I have a little dog named Pearl. You will see her blasted around my pages.
I have to admit though that I am a snake person. I love them… I want a green tree snake and I want to call her Harrietta. Ever since I went to the ‘Gosford Reptile Park’ with my nan and poppy at the crisp age of 10 and held their python (with the help of the man there cos she was huge) and she hissed at my face with her tongue I have been SOLD! One day you will see her on my xanga profile. I will be the happiest person on earth then.

Oh no you’ve found my weakness, I LOVE TURTLES! I’m going to buy those baby desert turtles cause their so fucking awesome, and yes I’ll say it, they’re absolutely amazingly cute.
Yes, the no nookie part is awful!!! But…..I was reading the discharge papers and bottom like is this….I shouldn’t clean, do laundry, cook, etc….BUT I can give my husband BJs?!?!?! A bunch of men must have put that paragraph together!

My brother and I had turtles when we were kids. Their names were Simon and Garfunkel. Yeah, it was the early ’70s. Something you should know about? I let my kids eat cookies for breakfast — as long a they’re oatmeal cookies, of course. XD

okay I’m totally jealous of your pet turtles. I finally picked me up a water pond tub. I found it in an add in the paper. Wont have time to get it in the ground till next spring. Your photos are always awesome!

but my favorite thing right now are the three black and yellow garden spiders in my flower bed….really….three of the old girls….and they are getting lots bigger everyday…so soon I should be invaded with black and yellow garden spiders 
….what do you feed the precious turtles?, I may soon have spiders I could share with them 
yo ang watch that video again. the pike was trying to eat the trout that he was releasing. It bit his hand instead of the fish!

I love the photos, of course, but I have to tell you that this past summer, we took care of 3 WATER DRAGONS for my son’s teacher. I didn’t take any pictures because I was too disgusted.
