PA photo overflow
I still have a bunch of shots from my trip to see Seedsower.
I thought I’d put them up, Beth will be putting up more of her’s today too!
The first day I arrived we had just enough time to go get a few shots.
Beth took me to an old mill she had been saving for my visit.
I wonder why she was saving it?
I can’t wait to see the shots she took of it and how ours are different.
Another slightly blurred shot… I just really like the light in it.
What do you think? Does the light make it a keeper or should I ditch it?
I didn’t take many pictures of the Amish, just a few working fields or driving down the road.
I tried to be respectful, but it’s hard when I am used to taking pictures of EVERYTHING. I don’t discriminate.
Mennonite church windows
Lean on me
Double door
Cloister door
Towards dusk my camera starts to get all grainy on me.
I am so ready for an upgrade… Unfortunately my pocket book isn’t. *sigh*
This is the first DOOR Beth and I shot together. I like her shot of it better.
Well I think that is all, no more photo overflow.
There was so much we didn’t get to, I needed at least two more days…
I guess that means I have to go back soon, oh the hardship.
I have a question for you!
If you could take a picture of ANYTHING in the world, what would it be?

I love the picture of the cows! The slight blurriness makes it look like a painting – you should blow it up and frame it.
I love the last pic…red doors always seem inviting to me.
Hmmm….any pic in the world? That’s a tough one. But I guess I would love to take a picture underwater in Hawaii or other tropical part of the world… to see all the marine life…. and putting on a wet suit would make me look 20 pounds thinner!
The one with the cows in the light reflecting off the trees is beautiful. I think it’s definitely a keeper. All the other pics are beautiful too. Excellent work. If I could take a pic of anything, it probably would be our entire planet since there is so much beauty in it. That part clearly shows in your photos.
I love the countryside there. I wish I could convince son that it is far more beautiful than New Orleans, but he is stubborn like his mother and has made up his mind I think, but perhaps someday he will look back fondly on the beauty that lies where you live. We are in near drought conditions, the water restrictions have begun and temps will be at or near 100 for at the least the next week, if not longer. I am sure in it’s on way that is beauty… and to someone who grew up with and has been removed from it, maybe the heat is warming, I don’t know.
Anyway, I love your pictures, and your new profile pic, lol!
Hugs, Tricia
Doors galore! I love all these. I think the blurred one looks way cool. Very impressionistic.
Beautiful photos!
In answer to your question: I would like to capture an image of world peace!
what lobo said!!!!
Mine will be up later I will let you know,my computer done ‘et some pics ! It had better belch them out!
I love the photo of the cows. The light is fantastic. And I love the cloister door. Great job!
I loved it too – life is somehow more interesting when it’s slightly blurry, especially if the light is like that…..
I want to go back to the Grand Canyon and spend a week taking pictures…..it’s the most awsome place I’ve ever been
Have a GREAT weekend Ang….ilym
These are great. My Mom grew up in PA , but I haven’t been there in years. Beautiful country, though. Are the door colors you find really that wonderful or do you enhance them?
As for the picture question… I really wish I could just take a decent picture of anything- Especially when I see so many well-done photos on Xanga. My husband went to school for photography for a stint. He is kind enough to tell me half the problem is our camera =0)
You asked, if you could take a photo of anything in the world, what would it be and I have to ask if you want to take a picture of something in the world and you haven’t, “why?”
so glad that she didn’t lock you up behind one of those doors when you visited(kidding)
I would love to spend a week out west during a cattle round-up just taking pictures. Cowboys and Cattle are my favorite subjects.
I like the sunset pic.
Make it a great weekend.
great photos…
if it was anything I would have to go to Europe and take photos. so many beautiful things there!
Keep it. The light quality is good. (But I’ve become a sucker for the way light looks in photos.)
The last door looks like the door to the Secret Garden. It just needs a bit more ivy.
I love the pictures, Ang… The one with the light coming through the trees?… Just a little too much yellow for me.
If I could take a picture of anything?… I can’t think of anything I should mention at the moment.
dan
I love them all Ang!!! Good job!!! Beth sure does live in a beautiful area!!!
I am wanting someday to go to Alaska…I’m sure there is something wonderful there to photograph!!!
classic shots, LOVE the door colors. when in PA, you MUST take a pic of the amish-because you can.
@MooncatBlue - The only one in this set that is saturated is the double doors… It was a bad shot, (it was too dark out for my camera when I tried taking the picture) But I really liked the door so I did what I could to make it usble. I still like it, it has a poster type effect. lol
Most shots I take I try not to bump up the saturation much… maybe a two or three on PS… if you get too far they start to look cartoony…
Great pics.
I love the stonework.
When I was an Antique Dealer, saddlestrap hinges like those on the doors would bring me $100 a piece.
Thank you for sharing.
You just made a graven image of those poor people.
Great photos! I love all your doors.
) I don’t have any idea what one thing I would photograph.. now i know what many things I would photograph.
D
@TheTheologiansCafe - I make graven images everyone,,,If your not careful I will make a graven image of YOU!!!!
Many years ago, when my husband was in medical school, we lived in Pnnsylvania Dutch country…these images are so reminiscent of our 4 year stay. Lovely!! And ALL those doors! Good job!!! ~ Jeanne
PS – If I could photography anything? Probably whatever my eye sees next…
The Northern Lights or a rare occurrence would qualify for a nice shot. =D
Your pictures of the countryside make me yearn to go to the US and live there…
lol that old mill is crazy!! ang’s dream house
OMG.. thos are great pics.. I love the landscape pics.. #2 from the bottom…
I think there is just something so profound abouth esunset/rise.. that the entire universe is just like.. you know what.. “the hell was with it.. the day is being boren in a blaze..and its gonna go down in one too….
thn theres the rainy sunsets.. the ones.. your heart just breaks.. knowing that the unverse is like.. OMG.. I dont want this day to end.. but it must so here is my tears.. and a bit of my breath.. tha the next you wake to see will be just as well…
OMG.. that was like.. soo thiughtfull.. ( if i dont mind my spelling my self.. ^^)
LOL..
But honestly.. beautiful…
I really like the three stacked doors; it’s almost like the building is saying “Yeah, I may not be as useful as I once was…. but I still look goooood.”
As for the picture I’d like to capture, I wish I could get a picture of an athlete praying on the sidelines during a Brasilian national soccer ball game. Knowing Brasilians, there’d be a whole lot of screaming and flag-waving in the background, which would really show the Brasilian spirit. More importantly, though, I can just envision the great contrast of peacefullness that would be provided by a lone figure actually kneeling on the sidelines rather than just sanctimoniously crossing himself as he trots onto the field.
THAT would be the image of a lifetime for me.
I love them all and I would and do keep my favorite blurry photos.
If I could take a picture of anything I think I would like to have the right equippment to take pictures of Aurora Borealis. I think if done right they’re gorgeously surreal, I’ll never forget the first time I saw the Northern lights and it would be awesome to capture even part of their beauty. Also pictures of the moon, love those and would love to take some of my own.
The photos of the Amish are beautiful and recall my youth .
The mill is well maintened .
Love
Michel
To answer your question………
BEAUTIFUL BOOBIES
@RdKingClassic03 - I know… You do that as often as you can. lol If you have the chance to be in the picture instead of just taking it… all the better right? lol Sly dog you!
I love the pictures of the old mill and doors. Your pictures are really beautiful. To answer your question: I wish I could go back to Istanbul and take pictures….I was there in college and I have pictures, but I would try to capture how east meets west there.
You are both equally talented in your picture taking ability. Absolutely beautiful!
Very nce indeed. Love the one with the horse and cart.
I LOVE your pictures. I really do like the one with the cows in it. The light is truly amazing. I, too, love taking pictures but haven’t found a ton of beautiful places yet to take them. I miss my home in western NY!
Great pictures Angi. You have a keen eye for pictures and I always enjoy them. To answer your question – I would like to take a portrait of you and Beth together.
You and seedsower are quite a pair. Your fresh view of the Penn countryside as compared to the seasoned eye of seedsower. Don’t worry about the equiptment, you still have a lot to learn and to practice other techniques. Maybe you have photoshop program?
Well since I live in Michigan and my grandkids all live in Alaska you know my answer. Grandkids!
Of course my favorites are of the Amish and there horses. What a surprise, right?
RYC- yes, it is such a relief to have not had another episode like last weeks with Pretty.
