Doors in review
Well, it’s more then half way through the year and I am still trying to take a perfect door shot.
I thought now would be a good time to review what I have…

Well that’s what I have so far.
Getting a perfect door shot is hard!
I think part of the problem is I don’t have a clear idea of what I’m looking for in my head.
I mean WHAT is a perfect door?
If you have any ideas I’d love to hear them.
What do you think of what I have so far?
Do you have a favorite?

i like 6 and 14 best! thanks
@anth0nyc - Anthony! That is different sides of the same door. No wonder you like them both! lol
NO! THANK you! For your opinions and for always coming by, it is always nice to see you.
@angi1972 - i figured it was
I like 11 and 14 best. They’re all great shots, though!
they’re all fun, bu #11 is the best of the lot in my opinion.
hmm…I like 2,9 and 11.
and I understand-I think that’s why I haven’t done any more than I have-I don’t have a good clear idea of what I want. (this is not new or limited strictly to door photography fyi)

11-16. sorry, I have a hard time narrowing things down… I really love painted doors, but 11 is really cool.
13 A door well used with lots of tales to tell!
I like 4 and 10 the best. All are very interesting in their different ways.

You did a very good job here. I think #11 is the most unique photo on doors I have seen. I would call that the winner although each of them is special in it’s own right.
i actually like all your door shot. The fourth one is good because it hard to see which way people can go sometime. (BLUR)
I like so many of them! #11 and #12 are at the top of my list. *hugs*
I like most of them, but 11 and 7 (w the man in front) are probably most poignant for me. They evoke a certain something.
i think i like the last picture!
To each their own door. I love door shots. 3 tells a story out loud and 11 feels free. 12 is gorgeous.
15 and 13
Favs are 1, 13, 15, and 16.
Doors that are worn out have character to them. To me, it makes it seem like a lot of people have used them- which makes them seem important.
All your doors are pretty!!
6 is my fave. It seems to be inviting the viewer to go out and participate in the world.
About the doors themselves it is hard to choose but about the shots I prefer the 11 . ( effect of parallelism ) and also the blurred one ( number 5) .because I guess it expresses the sight of a man coming home completely drunk !
Love
Michel
9 is like a ghost door
Nice work, how did you came up with idea of photoshooting doors?
My favourite is 15.
For some reason number 17 is my favourite. Hope you had a good weekend Angi! Now have an amazing week!
i will try to photo a favorite painting in my house. Combines open door, with gnarled tree. Love doors opening into darkness. ALSO vermeer does some great doors of portent.
you KNOW ..number 12 is my favorate.. cause I know what is behind that door oh to well ….lol …
15 is elegant in its simplicity. What I love about these shots is your curiosity and creative approach to shooting each door. Usually, like in the posters of “Doors of ______,” its just the straight-on shot. But you play with the approach to visualizing the door. Sometimes straight-on, sometimes from the inside looking out, sometimes with the door moving. Fabulous. From my viewpoint, I hope you never find the perfect shot, because the journey is so much more interesting than the final destination.
I also vote for #11, and #8 is not far behind. I’m not sure that it’s possible to find a “perfect” door. All of these are very nice, though . . .
I have a suggestion — how about a shot of an open door, taken from the inside of a (your) house, with someone you love entering . . .
2,4,6,7,12. are my favorites.
9,11,17 are outstanding!
I vote for #2!!!!
I love number 2, it is so ornate and pretty and you have caught the detail in the photograph. I also like number 15 for the colours in the picture.
A great collection of photos
7, 8, 10, 12. Those are my favorites.
#8 is still my fav, I love the colors in #15
@the_best_stuff - I hadn’t noticed it until today… but I like the fact that I can see the door through the person in number eight… now I need to remember how I did that.
Nice work on 11 and 15!
5 reminds me that one day, I shall slam a revolving door.
I love the movement of # 8, besides the fact it’s such an odd door, being up so high.
I love # 9 because I love reflections — It’s interesting how the dirty-looking window can reflect the beauty of the arch and bricks.
# 11 is an awesome picture but makes me think of windows far more than doors. Which are they?
# 17 is very touching; the picture, especially in B&W, really tells a story, not just of a door, but also of a person.
I like the rest of them, too.
You have a lot of good ones… couldn’t pick a fave!
@craftea - Number 11 is the top of the Round house doors at a train station… they are HUGE… I need to post one of the pics of the whole doors sometime so people can get the idea of their enormity. lol
Mornin Glorie…..I like 5 6 and 8 and 17 and….shoot fire girl they are all GREAT….but I think 17 is my favorite…it says alot…..ilym
I like 1 and 7…… similar styles in that one is Cold and with a sense of Power while 7 is more inviting yet they are similar in that they both have peeks and show “That this where you must Enter”….no question about that……Also there stone work….I took a picture of Norte Dame in Paris France that would fit perfectly in this series….
I like 8 the best.
Because you didn’t just capture a door, you also caught the life OF a door. How many people honestly pass by that door in a blur before actually checking out what’s inside?
I like 4, 11, 14, and 15!
11 perhaps less for a “good door shot” and more for a really cool picture!
11 is definitely my favorite, but they are all beautiful! You have a true talent!
I like 1, but I don’t notice the doors right off. I also really like 11. It’s probably my favorite. I also like the colors in 15. I like the way the bricks on the walkway look in the light.
Some nice doors.
i like 11 the best. i love the composition & the colors. 17 is very nice too.
You have a very good eye. I am not sure if seedsower rubbed off on you or vice versa….!
Say, what is up with the “DOORS UP” posts? What does it mean? Or is it some insider joke/post?
I like both 4 and 13. The first shows dignity and a simple, uncommon beauty; the second shows that even what is common can be beautiful.
11 is cool, but i like 15 the most. the colours get me. and i have no idea what makes a perfect door in terms of looks, but a perfect door for me would be one that ya can’t knock down. i know, that doesn’t do you any good
@mercyless1 - It may not do me any good for a picture… but it is VITAL when there is a zombie attack!
@bonzojferardi - Sorry B! I always forget that not everyone knows what the deal is! lol Here is a link that will explain!

I think I like door 12 the best. I love to open new doors. When i hear of some one going some where I say open a new door for me. Then my Dad would say never close a door you can not come back and open and walk back threw it. Good advise I would say. DOROTHY
