  • Squatter Update

    morning dove squaters 003.jpg

I see why they chose this tree.

The kids couldn’t even see the baby, they thought nothing was there, it blends so well.

I snapped this shot and got out of the way because the parents freaked when they saw me near the tree and one of them wasn’t in the nest.

It was funny because the kids had been running around it for an hour.

I was worried they wouldn’t come back.

This morning there was a parent there, so its all good.

Now if they would just get out of my tree so Ben can put the hammock up!

  • *sigh* and DOORS

Just because I liked it and I could.

I wish I could lighten the trunk a little, but I am too lazy to take the time to do it in PS…

    Some Capital building DOORS.

  • Home Again, Home Again Jiggity Jog

    We meandered home today.

First we made our way to Lansing.

Stopping  to take pictures along the way whenever I felt like it. We went to the glass shop.

We were early for our lunch date with finfam2.

So we did our own little tour of the capital building.

    capital building.jpg

The problem with doing your own tour is you don’t always know what your looking at or WHY your looking at it.

We went to the first floor and saw the glass floor and laid down in the middle of it.

Just like the man at the desk told us to do…

Yes… I laid down on the floor… You won’t see a picture of me doing that  however.

    capital ceiling.jpg

This is what we saw… very pretty… not a great shot.

I was in a hurry to get off of the floor…

Then we went to the to the third floor to see … I’m not sure what…

    It was ALL beautiful.

    looking up at the capital.jpg

I saw them lying on the floor looking up…

i wonder if they know what they were looking at?

Cooper and I are both a little scared of heights.

Major vertigo with all of the lines and patterns so we didn’t stay long.

We went and convinced my Aunt that the world would survive long enough for her to have lunch with us…

We ate and then let her get back to it…

She is VERY dedicated to saving the world.

I know because she didn’t feel well today and she was still at it.

After we returned her to her “castle” as cooper called it.

    We drove home…

We were almost to our front door when we saw a horse walking down the road…

Well at first I thought it was a BIG dog… Then I realized it was a little, itty bitty horse.

I pulled over and chatted him out of the middle of the road where he was walking…

It was so funny, I talked to him like a dog and he came like a dog.

I had a rope in the trunk and another car stopped and the guy happened to know how to tie it into a halter…

So we found a miniature horse!

We didn’t get to keep him…

The guys that stopped found a neighbor who knew where he belonged and soon enough he was home safe and sound.

    Sargent the escapee.jpg

His name is Sergeant and he was very naughty.

We now have an invitation to visit whenever we want.

He has a nice pasture and little barn with chicken and rabbit friends and yet he was determinedly heading down the road…

I wonder where he was going.

    Now I want a pony!

Have you ever wanted a pony?

  • My Day in the Fray!

I had to make a quick trip to Detroit to drop off the glass I have been working on.

    I have fallen in LOVE!

    Maxtek MNT-7T

    With her…

You type in the address and the sexy lady voice tells you everything you need to know to get there!

Now if I could just make it into a sexy GUY voice telling me how to get there…

I don’t know how people live in the BIG CITY…

I like visiting, but the anxiety levels goes UP here.

The traffic jam Cooper and I got stuck in…

    I think I saw a horrible accident.

Of course this is how I spend my bored moments…

    taking pointless pictures.

    This made me sad…

He had a sign that said “HOMELESS and HUNGRY”

The car in front of me handed him a pastry bag and I gave him a bottle of water.

He also had several empty fry cartons sitting next to him.

Then I picked up my pain in the… I mean one of my brother in laws…

So far it is a good day.

I got everything I needed to done and now I can enjoy the city!

    Question…

If you saw what could have been a dead body on the highway… would you want to know if that’s what it was?

Or would you let it go?

Time to go kick some butt at trivia!

    ********************EDIT******************

I am still in the Moter City…

I will head home tomorrow after I make a quick stop to have lunch with my FAVORITE Aunt!

I didn’t kick as much butt as I would have liked…

but I did take home the genius cup award for the most correct answers… WOO HOO!

  • Progress Report.

I am behind on my reports. I finished the M with the cherries and completed an S with cherries. I have almost finished the F with sunflowers that I designed. Today I am taking it to the shop with me where I will patina it and polish it and then say GOOD RIDDANCE!

The colored pieces all cut and foiled….

    The almost finished piece.

Not sure yet where I want to stick the little bee.

I really couldn’t come up with a way not to put drag lines in it, so I tried to make them part of the design.

Watch, today I will take it in and my mentor will say.. “Oh here you could have just done this…” URG!

    IN OTHER NEWS!

    We have some squatters.

    birds nests and progress 004.jpg

It is so odd, the spot they chose in the tree is so low,

Only about a foot over my head.

The kids are constantly playing around that area.

The bird just sits and watches them.

I can’t wait to see what develops.

Hope you all had a great holiday weekend!

  • Reminiscing

Satori had the song Pink Moon by Nick Drake posted on her site today and it reminded me of this commercial.

When we first got married Ben bought me a Volkswagen Cabriolet convertible. I loved that car, I miss it.

We drove it through the mountains of Utah, the deserts of Arizona and across California…

    I loved that car.

  • DOOR

    Bebopgirl1969 has a DOOR up

It isn’t a traditional door… but since when have we cared?

Seedsower’s friend, Englisher, sent her a great package and a picture of an incredible DOOR.

  • Some of what I Saw…

    SEE! SEE!

    See my pretty posies!

    flowers from Beth 005.jpg

I didn’t get to enjoy them much today though because we were gone all day.

Every Memorial weekend we participate in the insanity that is…

the beginning of the yard sale season!

My parents host a sale at their house with our friend Frank and other members of our family.

I never have it together enough to take anything to sell.

I just go, sit, talk and eat the yummy burgers and cherry brats my Mom  makes for lunch.

Today I couldn’t help but notice all of the fluff floating through the air.

I tried to get a picture of it…

    flowers from Beth 040.jpg

    See it?

    No?

    flowers from Beth 019.jpg

    See it here?!

It looks like snow or spider webs on the grass.

    flowers from Beth 035.jpg

    flowers from Beth 034.jpg

It’s from the trees… Mom kept calling them Popple trees…

I had always thought they were Poplar trees…

But how would I know, I have never seen them do this before…

I guess I just wasn’t paying close enough attention.

    flowers from Beth 026.jpg

Near the trees it filled the air…

    I inhaled fluff several times.

(That could be because I was on the ground by it. )

Popple fluff up your nose does not a happy nose make.

What did you see today that interested you?

  • DOOR UP!

Seedsower has some beautiful pictures and A DOOR UP!
