ALRIGHT. I think I’m done throwing barns at you.
I didn’t realize I had so many on here.

I think there are fifteen more in my photoblog I didn’t use.

    The really funny thing is…

There are still dozens of them

    almost right out my door

waiting for me to come take pictures of them.

    It’s a full moon soon…

I don’t have the round barn with the full moon behind it yet…

    Hmmm…

    I need to do a barn book…

What else I am I going to do with all of these?

I’m not even sure I LIKE barns sometimes.

    Do you feel harassed?

  • Beware theHYPOTHETICAL part 6

On Survivor they are all told to pack one “luxury item” that they could win the use of sometime over the course of the show.

One year a contestant  was a fire dancer and she took her torches which she eventually was able to use, I don’t remember off the top of my head what the other people had brought.

On the show this year, Ozzie, is a photographer. I was thinking HOW can he stand it?! It would drive me nuts to be there and not have my camera, so you all know my answer, my luxury item would be MY CAMERA , spare batteries, lots of them and spare memory cards.

Of course I bet you all saw that one coming.

    Now…

If you were stranded on an island for thirty days and could  have one item for your PLEASURE what would it be?

We aren’t thinking useful items like lighters or lanterns etc… we are talking things that are totally useless to anything but your sanity.

     What would it be?

  • UGH

My extra appendage is having issues…

Ben says my hard drive is getting ready to fail!

What will I do?  I am about to be technologically crippled and I’m not sure how I feel about it.

I remember there was a time that I didn’t carry my computer from room to room with me, that I went to the parks and play grounds with a book, not a computer.  I have forgotten what that’s like. I guess I’m going to get  a refresher course, whether I want one or not.

    Well such is life.

Don’t feel sorry for me, I live in a house that has six operational desk tops and then there is Ben’s laptop. So I’ll still be around Xanga, but none of them are MY baby.

Ben will be able to fix it, He can fix ANYTHING.

    **********************EDIT**************************

Sure enough I get on one of the other computers and whine about it… and what happens… Ben fixes it.

We will however be ordering a new hard drive in the next week or so, because it is inevitable. I do save my pictures and music on an external hard drive.

I am  prepared for the end.

  • DOORS!

Shirlann has posted DOORS from her Amsterdam trip!

    Check them out!

  • MY workspace

K8thelate asked to see our work areas or desk. I don’t have a desk, I have several work benches and a lap top that will travel.

workshop 022.jpg This is the bench I work on most.

There are glass globs and bevels in the drawers, metal findings that might want to add to something I’m working on.

There is my tool can, it holds my cutter and all of the different pliers, fids, x-acto blades and markers I need to do anything. Not the best holder, but for now it does the job.

My soldering iron is there, that white box like thing on the right is a fume trap so I don’t kill myself on lead and chemical fumes.

The glass jars have miscellaneous junk in them, plastic penny machine bubbles and sea shells.

You can just see the corner of my brain light when I am feeling in the mad scientist mood.

The Chickadee is what I am working on right now and I am not happy with myself because I cracked a branch just before I took this picture.

junk.jpg This is just random things I found or that were given to me  I like, something to distract the monsters with, sometimes I use them in my outsider art or mail art.

samurai butt.jpg Some fun stress balls I don’t know what I’m going to do with yet…

    workshop 029.jpg Other random STUFF

King Kong posters and a piece of mail art from my brother in law… It says “You can’t buy the necessities of life with cookies.”

My surge protector , which is usually full of cords depending on what I’m working on.

workshop 009.jpg workshop 028.jpg This is the chickadee at a couple of stages, cut and foiled and waiting for lead, you can see the pattern I use for it, under the glass.

Then with lead on it. I let one spot get TOO hot and broke it which means I am going to have to break  out the broken piece and recut it… a BIG pain and a rookie mistake.

Can you tell I am not happy with me…

workshop 033.jpg This is my light box,  I haven’t used it in awhile, the stereo is on it. A rack full of small pieces of glass from various projects that I haven’t filed away yet.

    My T square… invaluable.

I also have a grinder table and another large work bench that right now is piled full of glass and messy looking so I’m not showing it… I will next time. Because SPRING is finally here, I am hoping I can get out of the basement and into my garage workshop. Then I will post a picture of EVERYTHING.

Sorry I’m late Kate but there it is!

  • DOOR UP.

Cyanara Jane has a DOOR UP…

  • OH THE HORROR!

Haynes mentioned The Rocky Horror Picture show in her blog and oh it brought back the memories!

I went to visit my friend Bill at U of M his first year there and stayed in the dorms with him, it was sibling weekend, so I was his little sister. We did so many cool things that weekend. Shoving ten people and groceries in a Volkswagen  Bug, driving the wrong way down a one way street, going to a street fair and probably the highlight of the whole weekend, seeing The Rocky Horror Picture Show in a theater, complete with squirt guns, umbrellas, toast, rice and flying toilet paper.

It was a good time. Holly mentioned that she had seen the show in high school. For me it was my freshman year of college, so I was eighteen. I was thinking about that weekend though and wondering if I would ever let my kids do that, and what I came up with was HECK YEAH!

My parents gave me a lot of trust and I am very grateful they did, I was a good girl and had some good times.

Don’t get me wrong, the good times don’t stop when you get older, they just change in a big way… I am not sure that I will ever be able to convince Ben to go to The Rocky Horror picture show with me, but you know I might  try.

I hope that my children will be worthy of my trust and show that they are responsible because I want them to have so many fun memories.
