  • What I’m working on…

    Randomness pattern 4-22-08 018.jpg

This is what I’m working on right now…

I couldn’t get it all in one shot because its big,

and I didn’t have enough room to back up.

The letters aren’t going in those exact positions

I just put them there to see what they will look like.

They will be more evenly spaced and curve in just a little.

TO save time and money for the client

I am using a different technique on them then  the rest of the piece.

The suns happy little face will be painted and then baked on.

I still don’t know what color the letters will be either, this concerns me.

    Do you like it?

  • I like alot-don’t forget to show us the finished piece now…

  • Such a cute sun-face!!

  • I like it! If you paint the sun yellow, how bout orange letters???

  • @Mother_Moonie - The sun will be made out of yellow rough rolled glass… that means it has a bumpy texture on one sidesmooth on the other. Then I will paint the face on with black. You think Orange? I have considered it… I was also thinking maybe all different colors because its for a preschool… what do you think?

  • effing LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love it. Thats really freakin’ cool. You’re my new hero.

  • can’ wait to see the finished product :)

  • That is soooo great!  I think you are unto something using different colors since it is for a preschool.  Have you colored a picture of the sun using orange and one using black to see the contrast and to see which one you like better?

  • @curlytopchick1973 - Ooo you think I should possible paint the face in orange?! I will do a color up and see what it looks like!

  • Oh wow….I totally love it! You are so bloody talented, dearie.
Make sure you show us the finished product, okay?

    *hugs*

  • Great……….Teach me.

  • This is so freaking cool.  Exciting to see the process!

  • Do I like it?!?! I lurve it. You are amazing.

  • That’s going to look so cool!  Can’t wait to see it completed!!

  • I’m sure it will look as good as the trout did!

  • I like it a lot. Very well done.

  • It’s going to be beautiful. Red and orange will be a great combo on the sun especially if you could get it all swirly and fluid looking.  I do think the features of the suns face should be black so they stand out better regardless of whether he’s red, orange or both.  I would say that depending on how far the name of the school is going to be from the sun would play an important part in deciding what colors to do the letters, if you border them in black brighter colors won’t take away from the artistry of the sun.

Glad you got your postcard. I have another to send you from our Ireland trip but I ran out of stamps, so i’m going to mail it from here.

  • Oh yes, I like it a lot. Will you post another picture when it’s all done?

  • I think it is going to be awesome, such great energy!  I’m intrigued at the painting of the sun, how does one paint on glass?  And then do you bake it in an oven, or at a high temperature in a kiln?
I love stained glass, but I don’t think I have the discipline to have to be that exact.  That’s why I like mosaics.  You get to work with beautiful glass, but you can fudge it a little, and “make it fit”.
Are you feeling better?  I hope so, I think you were feeling quite sick to your stomach before.
Hope your day is as sunny as the sun in the panel will be once he’s all painted and shining in the sun.

  • I think if you do all different colors it will be to traditional, especially if you do the “primary” colors.  I like the orange idea best so far.  I like the face it has character.  Can’t wait to see the finished product. Mary
