MY workspace
K8thelate asked to see our work areas or desk. I don’t have a desk, I have several work benches and a lap top that will travel.
This is the bench I work on most. There are glass globs and bevels in the drawers, metal findings that might want to add to something I’m working on.
There is my tool can, it holds my cutter and all of the different pliers, fids, x-acto blades and markers I need to do anything. Not the best holder, but for now it does the job.
My soldering iron is there, that white box like thing on the right is a fume trap so I don’t kill myself on lead and chemical fumes.
The glass jars have miscellaneous junk in them, plastic penny machine bubbles and sea shells.
You can just see the corner of my brain light when I am feeling in the mad scientist mood.
The Chickadee is what I am working on right now and I am not happy with myself because I cracked a branch just before I took this picture.
This is just random things I found or that were given to me I like, something to distract the monsters with, sometimes I use them in my outsider art or mail art.
Some fun stress balls I don’t know what I’m going to do with yet… King Kong posters and a piece of mail art from my brother in law… It says “You can’t buy the necessities of life with cookies.”
My surge protector , which is usually full of cords depending on what I’m working on.
This is the chickadee at a couple of stages, cut and foiled and waiting for lead, you can see the pattern I use for it, under the glass. Then with lead on it. I let one spot get TOO hot and broke it which means I am going to have to break out the broken piece and recut it… a BIG pain and a rookie mistake.
Can you tell I am not happy with me…
This is my light box, I haven’t used it in awhile, the stereo is on it. A rack full of small pieces of glass from various projects that I haven’t filed away yet. My T square… invaluable.
I also have a grinder table and another large work bench that right now is piled full of glass and messy looking so I’m not showing it… I will next time. Because SPRING is finally here, I am hoping I can get out of the basement and into my garage workshop. Then I will post a picture of EVERYTHING.
Sorry I’m late Kate but there it is!

I wanna come play at your house! it looks LOADS funner than mine!
and I think the chicadees are gonna be awesome!you win the prize for fun-est work space!
Oooh, Angi! It is all somehow just like I pictured it! I was dying to see it, too! I mean…..I didn’t know the exact things that would actually be there (love the tin man….he glares out at me and I like him), but I pictured it be just like it is…..filled with all sorts of fun little things and the whole “mad scientist” feel….of all STUFF just waiting to be used, and stuff…..that just belongs there in it’s decor! I LOVE it!!!
Angi this looks like the most fun work space!!! I think it would be such a creative area and one that I would get lost in!!!! I would LOVE to have a space like that which nobody but me can touch or put things, and having that space would be wonderful!!!
I think when you fix what didn’t work for you the first time it will be a beautiful stained glass!!!!
well, work places aren’t suppose to be organized just functional.lol my aunt and uncle are artist and I notice that they have alittle whimsical thing or two in their work place also. Must be an artist thing.
Neato!
Oh there IS penguin! how did I miss him? maybe he can come visit sometime
Oh wow – you must have so much patience. I have a work space in the loft…I haven’t been up there for ages…really need to get back up there. One thing I find is that I can tidy my space up really well, and then I start doing something creative and the next thing…..the whole space is untidy again. I have this really organised, tidy side, but when I get creative it seems to go out of the window!!!!!! Really strange….
Cool!
It looks like the place of a very creative and playful person.
Yopur stained glass is wonderful – dispite the cracked branch. But now I want to know what your outsider /mail art is????
Sandra, VERY curious…
Looks like an environment where creativity can flourish!
Awww man, that looks like so much fun!!! I’m envious.
i just absolutely love seeing your pieces !!!
Cool. I like the sumo wrestler and brain sandwich . . .
Your desk is way more fun than mine, honey. Mine is usually covered with papers.
Yours is just… fascinating. Mine? Boring
Just the computer and papers! LOL!
I should share my scraproom… well, if I ever do get it back!!! I enjoyed touring your work area! Big hugs! Tracy
I couldn’t locate the mail art in your pic…probably just me…if you ever make another rookie mistake…you have the stress balls on hand…lol…
Wow…I am jealous!! I want my own place to play!!
i wanna come play at your workspace!
Wowzers. You are so fun….
I am thinking I may sign up for your mail art…
@BianchiStreet - OK Here you go!

What a wonderful space! Organized chaos and cataloged clutter…..love the chickadees!
King Kong!
(I need a close up of what appears to be the cow on the wall. =) )
@mahz - It is a cow… a little one, it is wearing a banner tht says… “no tipping”
The pig below it is wearing a sign that sas”Eat Beef”
Have YOU ever been cow tipping?
i wanna play!
I think I see OUR BRAIN!
@happydeviant - Of course you can!
That’s a neat workspace!
Yep, I want to hang out in your shop too. Apparently there will be a lot of us. I’ll bring chips and dip and we’ll watch you work! Peace
Toe of Frog? Did I read that right? Hahaha. Thanks for sharing!
did i see it right? stress “sumo wrestlers”? hehehe…
Very, VERY cool – love the chikadees.
You have a very creative workspace, looks like alot of fun!
Ooooohhh. I love your workspace. It’s like telling me, “C’mon let’s work and play!” lol.
Haha. I love those pictures with random things on them, lol. The skeleton, the smiley etc etc.
Oohhh.. I want to have ‘em, lol.
Your work space is much nicer than mine.
i love the chickadees! i don’t think i could do that.
I’m so supportively (for what you do) envious (b/c I want to do what you do) of you.
That looks like fun. The first afterschool I worked at, the guy who ran the program did stainglass. I’m assuming that’s what the chickadees is. I’m not an expert.
RYC to my pulse: Are you being sarcastic? If you are
I so want to learn glass work…..I really desire the chickadees, I did a chickadee needlepoint (about 20 years ago) that is nearly the same design, it’s really nice would you like to trade? you wouldn’t even have to fix the branch
…ilym
looks like a great working enviroment! What is a shop without a sterio? I know all about those little black cap chicadees. They love to get close to me when I’m sitting in my tree stand. I can just close my eyes and hear the chi-a-dee-dee-dee!
Dear Angie,
I only “met” you recently so I didn’t even know you are an artist. I just checked you “albums” to see if you had anything “displayed”. Neat stuff. I like your photos of your workstation too.
Re: Rocky Horror. I saw the film for the first time in 1975 or 1976 at a midnight show in Redondo Beach. My friend’s sister, who is gay, turned him on to the experience, and we dropped acid before going. I was quite upset that the experience included a sing along and I didn’t know the music! I bought the album soon after and then started taking various friends. I never did the costume thing, but I did participate by singing along.
Seeing the film again on DVD years later wasn’t the same thing at all.
Let’s do the time warp again.

“I was shot out of a cannon by the husband of the Beareded Lady.” – Hawkeye Pierce (M*A*S*H – Episode 205 – ‘Dear Sigmund’)
I just heard it, and thought of YOU!!!
Very very impressive. You are so talented. What lucky kids you have.
That reminds me I forgot to post my quilt project pics. They aren’t near as fascinating as your work space, but I’ll post them anyway.
I wasn’t getting my Xanga digests for a while, so I missed some stuff and didn’t get to comment. But it seems to be back to normal now. The weather hasn’t been all that great here, but I go caching when I can, even in the rain.
