    Pushing Time

The doors are a bonus in this picture, I was going for the shadow of the cart and the old gentleman.

Can you feel him shuffling out?

    SO my PULSE.

Thank you all for making me smile!

    StreetPhotos said-

“When the rain starts to fall, splash in the puddles.”

This would normally be my outlook on life too…

    BUT

In this case the puddles are from our septic tank and I won’t be doing any splashing.

I am just ready to have it fixed and OVER WITH!

    Wish me luck!

Things are looking up already, at least now someone has finally told us HOW to fix it.

    Sliding Doors

    …….opening, closing
    too fast
    too slow
    a sneeze
    a pause
    a slight hesitation
    pick up a dime
    drop the car keys
    a second thought
    before moving on
    to meet or miss
    your destiny
    is it waiting there still
    will it come again
or has it passed you by
    (you snooze, you lose)
    the love of your life
the chance of a life time
    double timing, timed out
    before you even knew
    he/she/it existed
    like proverbial
    ships in the night
    faces on opposite sides
    of an intersection
    illuminated in the red light
    turned green
    gone
    just moments before
    recognition

Thanks for the pic and yeah, I can feel myself shuffling just looking at it.
Have an awesome day Angi, missing you at my place!

  • This picture brought back a memory for me…. I was entering an old grocery store and an old man had just finished paying for his dozen bottles of wine. He ever so carefully eased the cart’s front wheels onto the mat that opened the doors, and every time the bottles bumped together he’d pause and let them settle, then ease a bit more of the cart till the whole thing was on the mat and partly out the doors. The front wheels caught on the sliders for the door so as he was easing the front wheels up and over that, the doors started closing. The doors banged against the sides of the cart. The man paused to let the clanging bottles settle again before going on, but the doors wanted to close, so the doors opened a bit then banged shut on the cart, opened and banged shut. It probably hit the cart 4 or 5 times before he managed to get out with all his wine intact. I found this enormously funny, not the man’s struggle, of course, but the fact that sometimes our best intentions of being careful doesn’t mean things go right.

Anyway…. I liked this photo, too. Glad this old guy made it out safely.

  • lol…Septic tank puddles…not laughing at the problem, just the image…have a great day, Rainy

  • Love the pic.  Good luck with the puddles.

  • wow.

This is one of my favorite door shots.

It has so much emotion in it.

I just keep looking at it.

    wow.

    wow.

    wow.

  • Sweet photo! I love it. I’m sooo scared to photograph people, especially strangers. It steals their souls, don’t you know.

  • @percym - When you upload the pictures their souls float back to them.. that’s the good thing about new technology! ;-b

  • Great shot of the old guy! Hope you got your tank fixed!
