  • Wow!  That is truly amazing.  Deer are such beautiful creatures.  My husband would have went crazy seeing all of them.  He can barely keep his eyes on the road when he drives because he’s always looking into the field to see deer.  He used to go hunting, but would NEVER shoot one.  He just liked watching them!!

    Great pics!!

  • I’m sure it was nothing personal-aren’t they beautiful?

  • Beautiful pictures, Angi!  I’ve never seen that many deer at one time before.  I hope they are not heading toward a highway!

  • Deers are beautiful creatures.  I have never seen one in real life but I know I need to keep my distance.

  • That is an awesome photo.  They are so much better when you can see them out there as opposed to your windshield.

  • I love that trimmed and enlarged version . . .

  • Beautiful Ang,you and the deer,you are a dear~ I miss you.

  • awesome photo!

  • So awesome, I love this picture.

Barry laughs at Allie and I cause the last mile or so before our turnoff we are glued to the windows watching for deer, bunnies, pheasant, cranes and Egrets.  We are like a couple of kids we get so excited.  We are going to fast to take pics though and since its a highway we can’t pull over.

  • Wow!  How beautiful!   I’m glad you got to use your camera; I know you were yearning to.

Our deer, here in NY, look sooo different than yours.  Your’s look prettier, and so much healthier.  Ours tend not to be skittish and will come eat right out of your hand, even……I think…..because I generally only see them, mostly, at this beach island that we go to in the Summer.  They are trapped there…..they can’t leave, unless they can swim across the ocean or bay (each side of the island has either as a barrier…ocean one side, bay on the other)….so I think they are very unhealthy and hungry…infested with ticks and have lyme disease here.  Also, they are never in a pack…ha…is that what deers travel in?  A pack?  I’m not sure, but ours tend to be alone…or a mommy deer with a baby or two only.

I am in such a CRABBY, CRAPPY mood today….just BLAH…..sooo tired of cold and Winter…(and on the verge of Aunt Flo….grrrrrrr!) …so I am staying off of xanga, for the most part.  I’ll go say hi to Alicia and Kathi and then my intent is to climb into bed with a book even…..but, I did plan on posting today, and stopped due to my mood.  It was going to be all things that I missed and pictures of them….beach, Summer, My deer–I have two that I have befriended…Paco and I forgot what I named the other one, but I was going to go back to my Summer posts and see……and just generally pics. of Spring and Summer……because I miss them…and my beautiful dog who died in November and pics of him enjoying the beach and ocean.  I stopped myself…..because today is not a good day for it when I am in this sort of a mood…..it’ll just make it worse.  I am in a picture mood today and I LOVED your deer picture!  That made me feel better….seeing your picture/s.

  • That is one gorgeous picture, honey!

  • They were running because you were trying to “shoot” them. =P

  • well Angie this is your aunt and I just want to tell you that this is a beautiful picture of the deer.  So much like so many other animal pictures you have taken of their hind end!  Love you!  Whenever we take a picture and the animal is going away from us we call it an Angie picture. Oh memories. Take Care.  I love your photos.

  • They are so beautiful!!! I know many love to hunt them, and my boy loves deer meat! Still I don’t think I could ever shoot them with anything other than my camera lens!!!

@LongLostFriend88 - wonder what part of chicago you are in… I see deer all over the place… forest preserves mostly… but still they are there… not that many at once… but you know…

  • what a GREAT picture!!!!

  • Oh how wonderful.  Gorgeous.

We used to have a least a 12 deer that lived in the wooded area near my house.  We would take corn and apples and sit them out for them to eat.  Now HOUSES are going up and they are slowly disappearing.  So sad.

  • Great picture, even better then the one Trusty took on Saturday.

  • These pictures of deer remind me of my daughters back yard. She has a few acres that are untouched so the deer come there often. They even come up into the side yard! It is wonderful for the kiddies to see them. Even the dog doesn’t bark at them anymore!

  • OH ANGI!  This is by far the best pics you’ve posted – thanks for sharing them!  You see such awesome things!
