Come on! Commit!
SO I discovered that I have over two hundred something subs… but only a hundred some friends… and it surprised me even more that there were so many of you that I consider friends that aren’t on there!
Xanga has this cool feature that allows you to view all of your subs and see which are on your friends list and if they aren’t you can send them invites all at once! Super cool. So if you see an invite from me… I have always considered you my friend, I’d just like to make it official. If you don’t get an invite, that means you already were on my friends list.

OH… I wish that it could show you which of your friends weren’t subbed to you… I HATE that… if your my friend I read your posts and get to know you… I am not into that MYSPACE mentality of collecting friends… does that bother anyone else?

i know! when i saw your friends invite i was like “what? we’re already friends” but i guess we weren’t. well, now we are!

haha- i just don’t really know what the friends thing is all about so i never friend people… does anything even change?
I have a bajillion friends and subs that don’t bother to comment me. Yet every time I delete them, they come rushing back only to ignore me some more.
how do you do it? i can’t figure it out.
@Abigailigator - The only difference is that if your my friend a link to you shows on my friends module… I kinda like that.
@lilms_sassy - Susan! Under friends… go to invite friends and it will come up with a bunch of empty boxes… there is a tab at the top that says invite subs… that will show all of the people you are subbed to who aren’t your friend yet.. check them and send em out! Sorry it took me so long I had to figure out how I did it. lol
Cooollllllll I hate myspace but my neices and shackpacker are on there…….Cant quite figure out the controls and hates the true mentality……..But shackpacker thinks it is the bomb. He visits everyday.

Yay! I think Jay is doing some work that he brought home, and I can finally get on here this weekend…..
I seem to have the opposite problem of you. I have 190 people on my friend list (and another 44 who I never bothered to accept, because I don’t think that I want to…so I just leave them there….sitting in eternal invite status), and only have 178 subbed to me. I mean…..I have more people on my friend list, than subbed to me. Haha! Now, my mind is boggledby that, since it’s opposite of the norm. It’s probobly because I had friends lock on my site until a few weeks ago. I am not a good commiter when it comes to subbing a site. I’m only subbed to 73 people, despite having the 178 subbed to me. I’m picky, I think.
I’m more apt to accept a friend request and read someone’s site than I am to make the commitment to have them cluttering what *I* read each day. And apparently the 22 people who are on my friends list, but not subbed to me….are picky as well.

Now you have me thinking, though….where is the feature that I can view which of my subs are on my friends list, as well?
I love the friends feature ,it is nice to friend omeone when I do not feel like subbing.

@violarulz - I like the friends thing simply because on my blog I have a module showing my friends… so anyone can click on the profile pic and see who I hang with… it figures if that if someone likes me they would like my friends… so its good advertising… at least that’s what I’m thinking.

yeah, i’m not sure how the whole friend thing works on here – i’m cool with just bopping around and reading from comments and such.
yes!!! that whole myspace mentality bugs me too. i used to frequent myspace quite a bit, but very rarely if EVER go by anymore. it irritated me to no end to see folks that had like 500+ friends….. never could get into the whole “collecting friends” craze…….
i hope i did it correctly i clicked submit and as far as myspace goes i think i am too old for them they dont have the year i was born on the chart when you put in your bday i’m only 33.
I am blessed with many Friends and Subs. I have so many that I sub to, I cannot read each of them daily but try to look in every couple of days. I can read the sub post without visiting, but sometimes I just have to respond.

no i dont collect friends….i only add ppl who i personally know.
Part of the reason I started on Xanga instead of MySpace is that i was looking for more of an adult outlet.
People subscribing is always something of an honor, but its not why I do this.
You say you’re not into the myspace mentality but the whole post is about the whole friends bit which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the myspace psychosis…
The day someone explains the point of how friends and subs are different and somehow both have to be done to harmonize the confluences of the universe, is the day I know I’ve gone brain dead.

It’s so funny that I would come by today and sub to you. Funny that I would comment on your friend post. I’m indigolady’s daughter and she said that I must come by and read your stuff and subscribe. So since I am a good kid, and I do everything my momma tells me *snicker* here I am.

I kind of wonder why a person would want to be a subbie, but never make a comment. I don’t always have a comment about every post, but at least once in a while I like to chime in. I don’t guess it matters much, but we all know comments equal love, and who doesn’t like to get that once in a while?
When does the testing for IS happen?
I guess I had better go check out my list-how do I do that, where I can check them all off?

I’m still trying to figure out the features on this site…I have a Myspace & there are certain aspects there that I like, or maybe it’s just that I know how to maneuver around there now…never was one to “collect” friends, there are certain people there that I’ve had from the beginning some I haven’t contacted in a while…will weed them out eventually…please continue to consider my “dirty little footprints” as a “hello”…glad we are friends…Rainy
