Thanks you guys for sharing all of your personal views and opinions. I know that it is a touchy subject for some people. I am maybe suffering a small crisis of faith right now. I believe in God. I just have never been sure about the hereafter… actually I don’t really think about it that often.
My favorite answer though was k8thelate’s
:

perhaps because deep down we know we are immortal beings playing around in a mortal body. the problem is many of us live as if we are mortal…and what a boring life that is! there is just so much more…
That would explain A LOT…Also a couple more links for DOORS. These are from ntebrd. Kate is a wise wise woman!!
It’s hard to be so sure all of the time. That’s just where we have to REALLY rely on faith!!! And God shows us, we just remember we have to look for it!
(((((HUGS))))) on your crisis. I will say a prayer for you!
A crisis of faith is ok–it’s how we find real faith. A writer said, “Faith is, at one and the same time, absolutely necessary and altogether impossible.”
I love how xanga brings people with different views into conversation .Its hard in an everyday world to bump into respectful ,amicable discussions between people who are not like minded.it happens here and it is a good thing.
don’t ya just love kate!!
having a faith crisis is so totally ok, as is having doubts. i can’t remember exactly where it is in the Bible, but God actually tells us to “test” or “prove” Him…. <<<<>>>>
I don’t think I would want to be immortal if it doesn’t get any better than this.

I’m not sure I could make an intelligent answer to this post. I’m still a long way from figuring it out for my own self.
RYC: Okay, since your one of my close personal friends, I’ll let you have that $500.00 discount. Just don’t let word get out, okay? I have to get my moneys worth….Now, are you bringing the chips, or the dip?
If I was immortal, truly immortal, I’d read and read and read for hundreds of years, gaining great knowledge about philosophy and history…then, I’d use that to my advantage and make it better for myself.
God, help everyone who would stand in my way.
I like what your friend said. I am inclined to agree…
as a modern hindu, i dont really belive in idol worship, but i do follow some of the teachings of priests.
This is what I do -I try to remember where I was before I was born and then I try to think of about where I will be when I die.
lol….xanga gear….it was only a matter of time
Man! The things I miss out just because I don’t blog for a couple of days.
I didn’t answer, but I did think about it, particularly because of a book I’m reading for a Sunday school class, “Simply Christian” by N.T. Wright. I’ve only read four chapters so far, but they’ve dealt with that sort of question. I recommend it. (He’s an Anglican bishop, but it’s actually pretty easy reading.)
