Tonight the kids and I are making deep fried pickles for dinner… Oh they are yummy and I am thinking they will make a great photo blog…

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former. ~Albert Einstein
I’ve been thinking about stupid lately. Stupid is not good. Well, unless your a cow or a chicken in a slaughterhouse and then I am thinking you would want to maintain your ignorance as long as possible.

One of my close friends is working on a project.
He is starting a zine and looking for submissions.
It looks fun and easy, I know some of you aren’t into art, but all of you are into free expression!
So if you feel like putting something out there, go ahead!
More information can be found here on his blog.
He is also a very talented artist himself so his blog is fun to page through if you have time.
CURTIS MCGUIRE
I have a fondness for this piece.
Have a great day.
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.”
~Martin Luther King Jr.
If you have something to say PUT IT OUT THERE…
Who knows where it will grow.

Go Google Yourself!
Have you ever Googled yourself? That sounds a little naughty.
No really, have you ever self-Googled ? There is a name for it… Hmmm… What is it?
Ego surfing! That’s it.
I’m told everyone should do it, that way you can make sure no one is assuming your identity or running ads for garage sales at your house on days your supposed to be gone.
Ben Googles himself often (again… why does that sound so… naughty?
) It’s fun to see all of the articles he has had published, reviews he’s written or debate a.k.a. online arguments, he’s had. When I google my name however, nothing, nada, zip, well at least at first… I went through ten pages before I found the birth announcement for my daughter and let’s face it, that was really more about her then me.
Then I googled Angi1972, wow I am all over the place! I’m even in different languages.
I’d like to point out, that THIS isn’t me, I’m glad the poor girl had her moles taken care of though. I know, some of you have been wondering about the facial hair, but it isn’t for hiding melanomas .
Anyway, do a little ego surfing, you never know what you might find. Maybe those photos you had taken your freshmen year to put yourself through college have resurfaced! You should really check that out.
Feel free to share!

I like it…
JustmeAndy suggested that I do the tree in B&W… So I did.
Finishing the cardinals today and taking a NAP.

Fruits of My Labor
This is the piece I worked on today.
Here it is all cut out and foiled and tacked together.
I did that yesterday.
The wood thing under it is my lazy susan, it has paint all over it because I use it for many things.
The susan allows me to turn the piece as I am adding lead to it.
I get out my flux, my lead, and my soldering iron and go to town.
First I put a layer of lead on the entire piece…
Then I go back through and do it AGAIN…
I try to make the lines as smooth as possible.
This is what it looks like when I am done with the second layer on one side…
It takes me about an hour and a half to finish one side.
Then I flip it over and it looks like this…
and I begin again.
I still need to paint the cardinals and the lines on the birch tree.
I’ll show you that part tomorrow if anyone wants to see it.
The cardinals isn’t my favorite piece.
They are what people want though.
They sell for 169.00 each.
After this piece I am going to do something I want to.
Some of you have asked me if I do commissions.
I do, but don’t feel any pressure to ever buy anything from me.
This site is just for my own entertainment, I don’t want you all to think I am begging you to buy my things.
I just like showing you what I am doing.
Have a great weekend.

When I was younger I always thought I would have a wine rack full of wine in my house when I “grew up”. I had taken classes in wine tasting and serving, and enjoyed them a great deal. There are ten beautiful vineyards in this area, all of them putting out interesting wines.
I have never been a big drinker and now I don’t drink at all. I was usually the designated driver, which was fine by me. It was always fun watching other people have fun. Except for when they did stupid things like get totally drunk, have to get out of the car to throw up and then try to run away…
Sorry got a little side tracked there.
Anyway… there isn’t a wine rack in our house… no great selection of vino, and I can’t say I am sorry. I just find it strange the things we expect in our younger years that don’t materialize for one reason or another.
How have your expectations changed from when you were younger?
