Mizz Shoes wanted to see the contents of my bag today…

So I don’t carry a purse, I carry, of course a camera bag!

On the outside is my new path tag and a frog my uncle gave me… because I like frogs… in case you didn’t know.

And an “it takes a team” pin that my Brownies gave me last year.

Inside I have my wallet… contents to remain unseen!

2 extra batteries, one extra memory card and an extra card case for the ne I am using

My USB cord for my camera

two thumb drives full of pictures I use for cards

A Sam tag for my nephew that I keep forgetting to give my sister.

One Burts bee’s lip gloss champagne tinted

a pencil and seven cents.

and a house key.

Usually I have a note book but the monsters have run off with it… that happens a lot. Nothing is sacred.

I have NO cell phone! At times I think I should, but so far I have made due without and I figure why mess with a good thing… I have to remain techno innocent of something.

There it is! My junk… OH Usually my camera is in there, but since I was using it to take the picture…

So this morning I received a message from THE  WinsomeONE… It essentially asked how he could find the other DOOR  pictures!  For some reason, because I know you all I simply assume you know each other! I forgot I did take a picture of a door at the State Hospital some time ago.

They don’t know what it was used for, but there are several of them through out the parts of the renovated building.

This one can be seen if you go to Trattoria Stella…

One of my favorite local restaurants.

I especially like their summer menu because they use fresh produce from the area.

Even though Trattoria means a family eatery,

I recommend leaving the monsters  at home.

In fact… that picture really didn’t turn out well, I’m going to have to go back and shoot it again…

Oh yeah… I think I will…

Speaking of the monsters.

School was canceled today because of the winter storm we had last night.

Boy, the wind howled.

SO Ben and the monsters are all home and we are enjoying being shut ins.

Got some serious work done today.

I can’t say I enjoyed it much though, it was all soldering and I am still having a hard time getting nice smooth lines.

I just don’t have the patience.

This will hopefully get me through those BLAH times that everyone gets,

So everyone knows by now that I am a geocaching tag along…

If you didn’t know, CATCH UP!

One of the very fun parts of  geocaching is meeting people and trading things.

One of the things that people trade are PATH TAGS.

I was lucky enough to get to work with my uncle on the design for his.

It was great fun!

This is what I put together on photo shop, with his suggestions and making changes to fit his ideas.

GoldFinch is his team name, the bird is on an ammo can, it has the year my Uncle started caching and where they are based from. All of the really important stuff.

He then sent it to the company that makes the tags and they send him back a blue print.

I wanted to post that too… but I can’t seem to find what I did with it. *sigh*

This is the final product!

On the back is a web address and a number unique to the tag, you can log it and see where it has been and where it will go…

It’s about the size of a nickel.

My Uncle has had people in Canada and Australia ask to trade for his.

How COOL is that.

Now I have my own to place on my camera bag.

I didn’t post this picture when I took it because the sky was all blown out and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it.

Right now, I just can’t seem to care, I like the colors.

Kids have half day of school today so we are hanging out and playing games.

I am so glad its the weekend.

You would think that because I work at home it wouldn’t make a difference, but it does.

I am summer dreaming today.

The kids and I are still without a car.

It actually hasn’t been a bad thing, we’ve saved money not having one.

I am worried about this summer though.

We live three minutes from the beach so we can ride our bikes there.

But I want to GO… I love going.

So today I am dreaming of one of these.

I sold my Cabrio a couple of years ago because it wasn’t condusive to putting monsters in and out of car seats.

Now that the monsters are older. It would be fun to have one again.

Even if its a junker that we only drive in the summer…

Well I can dream.

DEEP FRIED PCKLES.

I actually had my first one of these a few years ago at the Hofbrau, in Interlochen, coming back from The TSO they were playing at the Interlochen Arts Academy.

I like the Hofrau’s better because I don’t have to do the clean up.

You will need:

Egg roll wrappers, medium dill pickles, ham and swiss cheese.

Put down the wrapper, the ham in the center, swiss cheese, and then pickle.

For good measure and because we like it, Isabelle and I add an extra piece of swiss cheese.

Pull the corners at the end over the pickle… then start rolling the long side.

You want your pickle all swaddled in so there are no holes the yummy goodness can leak out of.

I use the egg to seal the package shut.

To do all of this work!

Heat your oil to 375 degrees and drop your pickles in, We do two at a time.

They will turn a nice golden brown eventually. I think its about five minutes or so.

This is what you end up with.

Cut it into bite size pieces and share with someone you love.

The Hofbrau serves theirs with ranch dipping sauce.
I like mine plain, although I am thinking honey mustard would be good with them.

Maybe I will try that next year, when we will make these again.

I have to say… I am disappointed in everyone who said EWWW…
