  • Not the Brightest…

    The title could apply to one of two things;

    My idea or our waitress.

About a month ago they started advertising

    Kids eat free on Sunday…

That, an intense craving for chicken wings,

and the fact that I have never been to Hooter’s before.

    Made me want to go.

I was a little offended when they built a Hooters in my Traverse City.

It just didn’t seem to go with the dynamic of the town, that and I was wondering who would want to work there?

Well, there were a lot of girls working there, all of them fresh out of high school.

In spite of the sign most of them were brunette…

and all of them looked incredibly uncomfortable in their uniforms.

Which weren’t as bad as I thought they would be, just incredibly tight and uncomfortable looking.

On the list of life experiences that I needed…

    this was definitely not one…

    The wings were awful!

    What was I thinking?!

There must be a science to ordering that I just don’t know.

A couple behind us  had a buffet of wings in front of them, all of them looking better then mine.

She was watching the Green Bay Packers and he was watching the Lions.

They seemed very happy with two televisions each and a pitcher of beer between them.

    Well the kids had fun.

When I told Ben he was right…

    (He loves hearing that…)

Hooter’s was awful and we didn’t need to go back.
The kids were shouting WHY! WE LIKE IT!

    OH BOY.

    In other news!

We went to get our Christmas tree.

    Let the decorating commence!

  • I want some pix once the commencement is over,I love to see decorated trees,I made so many beade, victorian , and felt ornaments over the years,I suspect that my relatives are sick of them

  • Hooters isn’t popular for it’s food.
Have fun with the decorating…Phil talked me into a tree. We should get it tomorrow night. I’m not decorating, that’s all on him.
Sending Irving to you tomorrow morning.

  • I am looking forward to your decorated tree pics :)    I am still waiting to put our tree up til we get the living room semi finished with the remodleing.  Should be able to get it up soon I think….     The few times I have been to Hooters I decided they were very highly over rated.  The food was expensive and not very good.  And I got tired of watching girls in skin tights outfits waiting tables…  Definitely not on my list of things to do again….   huggs :)

  • What a sweet picture of your son!

We’ve been a couple of times, and you know what? I’ve NEVER had their wings! We did go last month, my nephew Peyton turned 15, and I guess he got hormones for his birthday, because that is where he wanted to go… You know what I get when I go there? Their quesadillas! Are they the best in the world? No, but they are really good.

I agree with you on your assessment on the waitresses’ uniforms!

    Hugs, Tracy

  • Some of our friends order the chicken wings and they were pretty good.

I am sending you a message.

  • I had my Hooters experience years ago.  Yeah.  Even I could work there and that’s not saying much.

  • Those uniforms are even worse this time of year!!!

  • I’ve never been to a Hooter’s before, and we used to live about two blocks away from one. Eh, I see I didn’t miss anything.

  • We went clubbing in Chicago. We did have a good time.
    The interview went pretty well!

  • You should have kicked up a ruckuss

  • It’s too bad they don’t serve those yummy Hooters wings at a more, how shall I put it, family-friendly restaurant.  I’ve never been there and don’t plan on going there ever, but I have heard they make great wings!  It’s a pity they built one in Traverse City, that seems like such a beautiful and clean city…I hope it doesn’t become corrupted like some of the other large cities in Michigan.

  • I suspect the rumour of the ‘great wings’ was invented by a bunch of married guys that wanted the excuse to hang out there and it just caught on. I found the food for the most part to be very forgettable. Of course, that’s not really what you go for. They’re trying to open one here-I suspect it will do well because it’s a college town.

The tree hunting party looks great. I’m still looking for an angel. **sigh**

  • You will get the traffi now you Hooter kid takin Mama!!!
I have never been there but I heard first hand  it was crappy so that is why….my niece was a waitress :-O !!

  • 14th!

Anyhow, I enjoy the scenery at Hooters, but the food, eh, not so good

  • That picture of your son around the christmas tree is my all time favorite. It is perfect! I love it.

  • I have only been to Hooters once and it was a pretty uncomfortable experience. Two of my female co-workers took me for a birthday and the sad thing was that they were much more attractive than the girls that were working there.

  • Well you were daring enough to try it. I haven’t been to ours but my soon has. He does like their wings and things, mostly things. LOL!

  • I’ve never been to Hooters but I would expect it to be very good…

  • there goes the neighborhood………………………pulllleese!

  • I have never been to a Hooters, but I have 3 of their shirts!

  • of course the kids like it and hubby too.  I notice all the dirty old men like looking at the young girls ,too(the old men think they are 18yrs old so I guess you can’t blame them) I didn’t like it but sister wants to go sometimes cause the hubby’s never say,”let’s go.” they are like kids watching cartoons -you have to tell them to let’s go after you wipe the drool off their face.

  • I’ve never been to Hooters, but I hear their wings suck!

    Kathi

  • I wanted to see the uniform

  • I didn’t like hearing that they put one of those in Traverse City.    I think we should have voted about having that place built because I would have definately voted NO!!!  But I’m glad your kids had a good time!

  • The best wings I know of come from a place down here in the Deep South called “The Wild Wing Cafe.” 25 flavors of wings… you can’t go wrong! Come on down to Atlanta (or Hilton Head, they have one there) next time you’re having a craving, okay?

  • I have been to Hooters once… I have yet to return.

    dan

  • I’ve never heard anyone say that Hooters wings weren’t good, maybe there is a science to ordering them.

  • i am a wing addict!  my favorite wing place is called buffalo stampede, and oh my goodness those wiings!  whew!!

i went to a hooters once because it was the only place anywhere near me that was showing the alaama football game.  the food was ok, but i couldn’t quit thinking about the fact that i have two teenage daughters, and the thought of either one of them working at hooters scared me!  have i reallly gotten that old?  i just don’t want a bunch of guys looking at my daughters as the men in hooters were looking at those girls.  can’t explain that, other than its a mom thing.

  • When we were in Springfield, IL at a union convention, my union friends, both male and female, went to a Hooters for a bite to eat after drinking through most of the evening. They began taking to the waitresses and discovered the pay and benefits really suck. The girls usually don’t stay for long if they can help it because the working conditions are so bad. If Congress ever passes the Employee Free Choice Act, organizers should unionize Hooters so the workers don’t have to work in such inhospitable conditions for such lousy wages and benefits.

I’ll get off of my soap box now…:)

  • Would you believe I have never eaten at a Hooters???  A travesty, I am sure…

  • whoever believes people go to hooters for the food is silly!!
