So this morning I ran out and snapped a couple while I was in my jamas.

This was my favorite even though it is out of focus and crooked.

I thought it was fun.

It was a rainy, dark day today, so it was hard to take many pictures.

I did capture these guys.

Gals, I should say since I don’t see any beards.

This one I just thought was beautiful, the light breaking through the clouds and the shadows of the trees.

Please…

I am trying to come up with a picture about FALL… What are some signs of fall? It’s for a photo contest. Ben has given me a pretty nice couple of choices and I am working on those, but I was wondering what you guys think.

To me one thing that signifies fall is the salmon run. We usually make three or four trips to the fish ladder to see the fish collections. So I thought I would try to get some pictures of the run. So today I stood in the middle of a very cold river, in my very cool boots and tried to capture a fish run. I wasn’t very successful, I wasn’t in a very good spot in the river and I am getting in kind of late. Here’s what I got so far and neither of them are good enough for the contest… but I still think they are fun.

It just looks cool.

What things do you see that signify AUTUMN?

Thought I would share more of my pictures from the weekend.

The kids just waded in clothes and all… That’s the good thing about having a messy car,

there are usually some dry clothes in it somewhere…

She didn’t REALLY get wet until this wave.

At least she kept her clothes on, as soon as Cooper got wet he stripped.

Eventually we were chasing a naked Cooper over the sand trying to force him back into his shorts.

The big kids all spent the night elsewhere last night, so we picked them up and headed off for family time!

We went to The Betsie Point Light House.

The lighthouse was open for tours today.

Everyone was out enjoying the day.

My family loves picking rocks. The beach was full of people searching for the illusive Petosky Stones…

Petosky Stones can’t be found anywhere else in the world.

We have a garden full of them… today we didn’t find anymore,

but we did bring home several pockets full of beautiful stones.

I was awaken this morning at 6 a.m. by trains being run over my toes and up my leg and a tiny voice whispering “whoo…whoo…”

I then took him downstairs and put on a show for him, climbed upstairs and fell back asleep… I just woke up it is eleven o’clock! I haven ‘t slept this late since before I had children… I’m not sure I like it anymore…

It was nice of my Hubby to let me try though… Wasn’t it?

I’ve seen him. A Great Blue Heron.

He was eating breakfast.

Whatever it was he was eating fought back.

I need a camera with a better zoom and a macro lens would be nice.

I can dream.

Autumn… One of my favorite things to do in the fall is bake some of my favorites…

Pumpkin bread and pumpkin cheese cake muffins…

Last night I found a recipe for pumpkin creme brulee… Hmm… I think for now I will stick with what I know.

Warm pumpkin bread with a nice spread of butter on it in the morning… *sigh* wonderful…
