  • Do you judge others?

I have been thinking about this lately. I don’t think I judge other people. I make assumptions sometimes and then adjust them as we go along, but I don’t think I JUDGE people.

    Do YOU judge others?

  • I am sorry to say I have been prone to, but I don’t like it!

  • no, I KNOW I judge people… like today, some idiot “man” starts iming me trying to be clever… and really he was not… so I had fun… messing with him to the point he tells me he’s confused… I know, I reply then sign off…

BUT I do know when I am being judging when I shouldn’t be… and I try to not do that so much, but really it’s just stupid people, who are being stupid… (can you tell I’ve dealt w/ customer service in the past few days, I just love how serviceable they really are to their customers)

    anyway… did I answer your question… yeah I guess I did

    ttfn…

  • Hell yeah I do. I base my judgments on shoes, clothes, hair, and religious memorabilia.

  • RYC: Usually, on Sunday, when I see a man with a snazzy suit, polished shoes, slicked hair, and a cross around his neck, I first think “Damn, that is one man ready for some Church!”

  • I really don’t think so. I’ve practiced a lot at not judging. LOL! I take it back. I get a creepy feeling when I see someone in a turban. It’s just human nature.

  • I try not to judge people but sometimes I’m not successful and I have to back it up and try to put myself in their shoes.  I think part of the problem of judging people stems from human nature too.  We, as humans, like to take the easy way out and sometimes it’s easier to listen to what someone else is saying about something than doing the homework and figuring it out for yourself.

I had a brother, God rest his soul, who was the only true non-judgemental person i’ve ever met. I’m trying to be more like him.

  • i do and when I do it I always think to myself….why are you doing thuis, its not a good way to be…the last time I judged someone and thought to myself “your being an asshole” I decided to stop and the that person stole my wallet from my office……but STILL I try to not be that

  • I assume to much! I try to call to mind “Judge not and you shell not be judged.”

  • I try not to, but I’m afraid I still do. Appearance is usually the toughest to overcome judgement for me

  • If it looks like a zebra, and sounds like a zebra, stop looking for horses. Or something like that. Apparence gives a really good indication of how that person is. Not always, but we are also a deceptive people. I think assumptions are better than judging becasue even if they start out the same, the assumptions are willing to be changed with experience while the judge has made up its mind and won’t be moved. That’s how I see it. And I said all that without really answering your question. I’m good.

  • i’m surprised by people’s answers on here.  i totally assumed it would be a list of people replying with ‘NO I DON’T’ answers.  i guess that’s me judging xanga as a whole? ;)

  • I think that the only area that I harshly judge people is education.
    I mean..c’mon….books are FREE!

  • I try not to, but I do think it’s human nature to compare and that’s just another form of judgement…..

  • RYC: we don’t have a garden…and that makes me very sad.
Actually it was from Whole Foods Market….they were on sale for 2 for $5….and that was one of the smaller ones that he picked out.

  • Sadly I do……..then I scold myself.  Sometimes even after my scolding, I still find myself judging…..

    Gina

  • I do but I use the same standard that I want to be judged by.  I have to judge my kids.

  • i try not to judge other folks, and feel guilty when i do.. i mean, shoot, who am i to judge!!!

  • yes, I think that you have to and being a nurse all those years you look people up and down just like my borther the cop did before he retired. Now you can always change your ideas later.  I got a more leanant judge when I was in my 30′s and that has made all the difference.

  • Hmm.  Good question.  I think we’re all guilty of making assumptions about people based upon how they look, act, dress, talk, etc.  I think our reasons for this type of judgment is not a bad thing and is merely a tool we use to bring order to the world around us.  I do engage in this kind of judgment.

The other kind of judgment, where I think that my way is the only way, I don’t do that kind.

  • I think I probably do…but most of the time I try not to judge on appearance…but I definitely judge a person based on their behavior…

  • Yes. And when the gavel comes down it’s final.
