Seedsower posted some REALLY beautiful pictures of her trip.

If you haven’t seen them, they are definitely worth the click!

She knows how much I enjoy cemetery markers and posted a really touching one.

    I think it’s a bullet point day…

    • Kids are happy to be back in school.
    • Hope that lasts…
    • I am enjoying some more freedom.
    • Ben put up new curtains in the fireplace room…
    • That makes me VERY happy.
    • Trying to think of what to do today.
    • Don’t really want to DO anything.
    • Definitely going to be a two post day. I feel the urge to do another one already.

  • SUNDAY, SUNDAY…

Giant flowers of soft and neon greens… And they smelled so yummy.

My mom reminded me of something that was always a point of contention in my family when I was younger.

Where do you store your peanut butter? In the refrigerator or the cupboard?

    Saturday clouds 074.jpg

I wish I had never snapped this shot.

Every time I see it in my photo editor Aaron Neville starts singing in my head…

The same line over and over…

Now I love the Neville Brothers but a different tune would be nice.

    SO…

Does it make any of you sing… I know, mean… but I was curious!

    **********************EDIT***********************

I couldn’t find the code for the song but I did find the lyrics!

    Bird on the Wire

Like a bird on the wire,
like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.
Like a worm on a hook,
like a knight from some old fashioned book
I have saved all my ribbons for thee.
If I, if I have been unkind,
I hope that you can just let it go by.
If I, if I have been untrue
I hope you know it was never to you.

    Like a baby, stillborn,
like a beast with his horn
I have torn everyone who reached out for me.
But I swear by this song
and by all that I have done wrong
I will make it all up to thee.
I saw a beggar leaning on his wooden crutch,
he said to me, “You must not ask for so much.”
And a pretty woman leaning in her darkened door,
she cried to me, “Hey, why not ask for more?”

Oh like a bird on the wire,
like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.

  • AS PROMISED!

Saturday clouds 003.jpg Saturday clouds 004.jpg

Here is the Chickadee panel I finished last week… There has been a snag with the froggie and I have to do a little more reworking…

    GUESS WHAT I DID!!!

I printed out a bunch of my pictures from around the area and made them into cards. I made a stamp saying

Flyingfrogphotography@yahoo.com Traverse City, Mi,  my name and I signed them all on the back.

I approached the owners of the glass place… I was so nervous I was practically bouncing off of the walls and talking a million miles a minute ready to convince them to carry my cards. They are pretty strict about only carrying glass works, glass art, and glass jewelry. When I first mentioned cards I could see one of them start to roll his eyes and then I showed them my pictures…  They were more then happy to start carrying them! It was really validating! Oh! And when I was packing up and leaving for the day I noticed a customer standing at the counter looking through them! It was so hard not to say WELL? What do you think? Do you like them???

Any way, I am really, really excited about it! Can you tell?

Now if I can just get Ben to help me set up  a web site… Hmmm…

SO today was what I call a perfect cloud day. You know what that means… PICTURES!

    Saturday clouds 073.jpg

My favorite barn to take pictures of. They have been fixing the roof all summer.

Do you think they would get angry if I asked them to HURRY UP!

    Saturday clouds 048.jpg

    icerist.jpg

Can you see the hawk? It was so cool, I could see the light shining thru his feathers.

Unfortunatly he was always flying into the sun and all I could do was point, click and hope I got something.

Well, this is what I got.

    Saturday clouds 085.jpg

I was driving and saw this field of cabbage, It was practically glowing!

I couldn’t quite capture it but I tried.

    Saturday clouds 082.jpg

It looks like there was a light bulb inside each one.

  • Not the only Big Hairy thing in my day…

    bigspider front.jpg

    big spider.jpg

    More big hairy arachnid.

Cooper and I went to Target today.

I printed up a bunch of pictures to make into cards. While I was using the photo computer he was perfect. He sat patiently singing and talking about the pictures that he saw on the screen for close to ten minutes.

I should have known it wouldn’t last.

We went to look at the toys because he is obsessed with trains. SO we went to see the Thomas section.

We looked and touched and discussed for at least ten more minutes. I figured he deserved equal time.

When it was time to go he started screaming and screaming and kicking and screaming and hitting and screaming… I did everything…

I ignored it, I asked him nicely to stop, I threatened him with immediate nap time at home. I didn’t swat his butt… Hmmm maybe I should have tried that.

None of it worked. He wanted to go back to the trains. When we got to the cash register the clerk said “Man he has been going on a half an hour now… you would think he’d get worn out!”

I kid you not, they could hear him all the way at the front of the store, all through the store.

Yes ladies and gentlemen that is my child.

How did I get such a stubborn child?

    I mean I’m not stubborn. I’m not…

    SO… How was your day?

    Back

I know it isn’t great scenery, I just thought he was cool looking. He was set up in the recycling bin.

He has since moved on and the recycling continues.

I have been working on glass like mad.

I finished the chickadee piece and of course forgot to take a picture of it!

    I know hard to believe.

If it is still in the store tomorrow when I go I will take a picture.

I’m hoping it won’t be though.

I am trying to get a frog piece done to take in with me tomorrow…

    I WILL remember to take a picture…

Talk about frustration though! The pieces were so small and close together that the lead lines aren’t even and the lead kept falling through on me if I tried to work on lines before the whole thing had cooled down.

I know You guys probably don’t know what I am talking about…

    Trust me… it was FRUSTRATING…

  • Why am I not sleeping? Hmmm… playing with pictures…

    black and white body.jpg

Beth said try it in black and white, so i’m trying it.

    black and white angel.jpg

I also blurred the back ground… in black and white the texture was just too distracting.

    fall ladders.jpg

    I just liked it…

Sometimes the light just does nice things.

  • My first full day of semi freedom.

    What did I do?

Cooper and I went for a drive and got lost.

    Until we weren’t.

Now we are home and he is napping and I think I will do the same.

Here is some of what I saw while we were wandering the country side.

first day school and lost 043.jpg

    Cheeto frenzy

first day school and lost 085.jpg first day school and lost 083.jpg

We stopped at a very old cemetery…

Since I did THIS post… I have become obsessed with trying to find a Woodsmens marker.

Cooper is a wonderful assistant, except for when he isn’t…

He was hiding behind every marker I was shooting,

when I was trying to shoot different angles he was climbing on me.

    It’s starting…

She wasn’t in the cemetery, she was in an abandoned garden by the side of the road.

I don’t know how someone could leave her.

I’m guessing that because her wings were broken they thought she was no good.

    I think she’s beautiful.

Okay… that was some of what I saw…

    NAP TIME!!!!

  • Your Score: Jean Arthur

You scored 21% grit, 33% wit, 33% flair, and 23% class!

You are a little bit of everything: smart, nutty, classy, and even a little scheming when you need to be. However, you aren’t exactly the most effective dame around, as you’re sometimes given to fainting and mumbling incoherently. But you’re pretty steadfast and true, and might I add, cute as a button, even if you’re not sure exactly what you want. Still, you end up with the likes of Jimmy Stewart and Cary Grant…not too shabby!

For a Leading man I was Cary Grant… Of course.

I don’t know about the fainting part… I’ve never fainted in my life!
