My first full day of semi freedom.
What did I do?
Cooper and I went for a drive and got lost.
Until we weren’t.
Now we are home and he is napping and I think I will do the same.
Here is some of what I saw while we were wandering the country side.
Cheeto frenzy
We stopped at a very old cemetery…
Since I did THIS post… I have become obsessed with trying to find a Woodsmens marker.
Cooper is a wonderful assistant, except for when he isn’t…
He was hiding behind every marker I was shooting,
when I was trying to shoot different angles he was climbing on me.

It’s starting…
She wasn’t in the cemetery, she was in an abandoned garden by the side of the road.
I don’t know how someone could leave her.
I’m guessing that because her wings were broken they thought she was no good.
I think she’s beautiful.
Okay… that was some of what I saw…
NAP TIME!!!!

Wonderful pics!! Lil Cooper is so precious!!
RYC: Thanks! I think your the only person that uses the star feature for the photoblog
I love shooting cemetaries. Chicago has some pretty extravagant ones as well. See http://www.graveyards.com
love the marker, Ang…i used to sell burial property at Rosehill cemetary, here in chicago…if you ever get to visit my city, give me a call, and i’ll arrange the tour…tons of civil war soldiers buried here…also a black marble ground crypt, with a 666 engraved on it…it’s owner is a satanist, who occassionally comes and naps on top of it…creepy, with a capital c…thanks for the comment…and, yes, i am a stinker…lol …hugs…animal
You should get your hubby to bring her home and sit her in your yard. She’d look great in the middle of an ivy bed! Kinda reminds me of the Savannah Bird Girl statue I’m fascinated with.
I missed you too Ang,I love the statue….I am off to the park with my nieces who I missed bunches too!!!!!
i was thinking the same thing get her and take her home. i love the markers did that one say 1880 i love stuff like that.i cant wait for the leaves to change here in ILL i am going to snap every tree i see
I saw several barns on my way down to Dallas last weekend and thought about you. I so wished you were with me so we could have stopped and taken pics.
I love the pic of Cooper peeking from behind the headstone. And I like the top of the barn/building with the beginnings of color in the tree. Ours are starting, too – have been for a couple of weeks. I heard on the weather that they are changing early because we’ve had such a dry summer the trees aren’t getting water. Maybe I can get all the leaves raked before the snow flies this year, at least
Great pics, as per usual. Hope you keep using your freedom by getting out to take pictures!!! When I’m done sorting my vacation shots I think I’ll do that, too. Lots of barns out here that haven’t been photographed.
What a cutie he is!!!
I can’t believe fall is upon us– it was 98 today!!!!
When I was at Villanova, I took a course taught by Dr. Robert Edgette. The professor did his PhD on the meanings and symbolisms of tombstones. Naturally, a good portion of our study was on this area as well. I got into the habit of touring old graveyards from it.
Dr. Edgette was a great guy. He offered us this advice. “If you get a PhD, work on something obscure in nature, yet something everyone will have contact with. I chose tombstones. Now I’m the world’s foremost authority on them. The biggest benefit is rich people who want me to design a stone for them. I make alot of money doing that.”
Cooper is a wonderful assistant, except for when he isn’t…
hehe
yall look like ya had a lot of fun
really nice pictures! Have a good sleep.
Beautiful shots,I also have tons of old cemetery pictures in black and white.. Nice work*smiles*
I think there’s a woodsmens marker in our cemetery…I’ll check it out next time I’m up there…….I love the statue too….I think you should get her and take her home with you!
Ugh. I think it’s just what this new school is doing to me. I’ll be in higher spirits soon.
And thank you
I should just try harder to find some decent people I can talk to.
xDDD
That made me grin. My latest art project is… a bit morbid.
-ducks and a cemetery-did you know craftea before?YA’LL look like you have alot in common
I wouldn’t take her home. Not much sadder than an angel with broken wings.
But she is beautiful.
I love old cemetaries. My husband thinks it’s strange.
I can’t believe they’d leave her either ~ She’s gorgeous!
