We made it home safely late last night. It was a great trip but it is always nice to be home. Even if it is messy and the lawn needs to be mowed. It’s home.

We didn’t get to go to Marvin’s, somehow most of the plans that we had for this trip fell through. MOst of what we ended up doing was just hanging out and being bums, but it was still nice.

I didn’t have much chance to take pictures and I am going through a bit of withdrawal. I’m not all together sure that it’s an unhealthy thing.

Every time we drive by this sign on 8 mile it makes me smile.

There are just so many things about it that are funny to me I don’t know where to begin!

It’s a little harder to get a picture of,  being on the side of a building… Some day I’ll get it.

Well, that’s all I have to share today. I have no plans for the week to come. I need to get some glass work done. Ben is home for most of the time. He is currently doing consulting work and so his schedule is much more flexible.

It doesn’t really allow me to get out of the house much, but it does allow me to do the things I want to do around here… now if I can just make myself do them.  I am going to try and sneak out later this week and take pictures.  I may just take  my entourage with me. I have some great new boots I need to try out.

It has a new temporary home at The Dancing Eye Gallery.

Just what is a dancing eye?

Can you imagine? I would never be able to talk to someone with a dancing eye. I would be absorbed in the bouncing and jumping of their eye, I’d never hear anything they said.

I went with Cooper, Sam and Mat.

I got to pull the knob myself this time… wokka! wokka! Cooper did the other pull and I promised Sam that next time we went he could do one. *sigh* Everyone wants to pull the knob.

The gallery had a lot of cool things but there wasn’t much time to look. Little hands that aren’t being watched are grabbing hands.

Oh the exhaustion isn’t about to get better since I am joining the mobs rushing to get my Harry Potter book this evening at midnight. Why wait when I can be stepped on, pushed and deal with rude people… that’s what i always say.

On a bright note I get to watch Monk and Psych… ummm… and I went to a wonderful church ice cream social.

Whew! Made it… yeah, it was a weird trip. On a bright side, I saw a very cool painted VW bus…  At least I thought it was cool and then I saw the slogan cleaverly hidden in the pictures…

Grass, Gas, or Ass… no one rides for free…

We were about a mile past it when understanding dawned… Ben on the other hand got it right away.

I know, I know… I should be going. We’re leaving soon, but I wanted to show you all some more pictures from last week. More of what I saw. this will finish them up and when I come back I will have a million and a half pictures from Detroit I’m sure…

It was a really great week.

So the “Your Beautiful Mom… Your beautiful…” thing isn’t quite so endearing when I’m angry with him and I’m marching him back down the stairs to his room at nine o’clock at night. “I don’t want you to be angry. Your beautiful Mom…”

It also makes my stern face less affective when I’m trying not to laugh.

Off to Detroit in the morning! Yea! Road trip!

Cooper is on his second march back to bed… It’s Ben’s turn this time. *sigh*

Oh! Very good thing about today. We all played hooky from gettting ready to go and hit the beach for an hour… Very nice, I was going through withdrawel.

I thought about going home and getting a ladder and going back… Don’t think I didn’t. There are no trees to climb around there. They will be there for awhile yet. Their nest is by The Grass Lakes Quiet Area which is one of our favorite hikes to do in the summer… We will be going there again… so maybe I’ll remember that ladder.

BECAUSE IT MADE ME SMILE.

This morning when I woke up and was getting out of bed… hair messy, still in my plain old white broad cloth night gown… my two and a half year old  looked at me and said. “Your beautiful, Mama.”

Yeah… I think his father is training him right.

My sister and nephew went home today.

On Saturday my mom walked and completed  her first 5K

I am so proud of her.
