It was a great day, except for the part where I stepped on a rusty screw, bled all over the kitchen, went to Urgent care and found out that there was a three hour wait. I waited for forty minutes and then decided I would take my chances with my eight year old tetanus shot for the day and go to my doctor tomorrow… which would be today.
So if I drop off the face of the Earth it is because I’ve developed tetanus, my nervous system has seized up and I have lock jaw… All because I was to impatient and didn’t want to waste my holiday.
Some times I just feel like a walking accident.
Of course I have pictures of fireworks.
We had our own private little celebration in the driveway. We will attend the big fireworks at the end of the Cherry Festival next week.
I LOVE HOW MY FAMILY HUMORS ME!
Pure joy
It’s funny how used to the camera my children are getting.
Hope you all had a safe and happy holiday.
Everyone still have all of their digits?
How about intact ear drums?
It’s all good here.

Not fun at all, a few thanksgivings ago spent the day at the ER with my mom who burned herself. One burn, sliced thumb, hacked finger ect all day long.
Keep a sharp eye on it for discoloration, don’t wait if it starts ok.
ooh. these are awesome photos!
ryc- i dunno if i would do my own shows. if i do, i would have no idea what to talk about. but i can guarantee you that i won’t talk as fast as dan. lol!
great pics!!!
ttfn…
Thank you. :] I really like that one, too.
I don’t like to watch huge firework shows. I just like it when I do them or my family does them. I like the hands-on ones, like the type you can do in your driveway…
ANG!!!!!! Those pics are awesome, wish I coulda been there! Glad you had a great day, but sorry to hear about the foot. Hope you get it sorted out, and DONT drop off the face of the earth…..what will we do without you?
Have an awesome day!
neat pictures. We never really do bleed enough all over the floor do we?…
We didn’t even do this much for fireworks here; Georgia and most of the Deep South are in such an extreme drought, it wouldn’t have been a good idea. Plus, I’m just not that into fireworks. Apparently, some of our neighbors are because I was hearing booms up until just past midnight… as I was TRYING to go to sleep!
I hope your foot is okay, missy! If you cleaned it out really well; you’re probably okay. I can totally understand not wanting to spend 3-4 hours of your holiday on that, though.
Woooo, I love the firework pics, we only have them once a year…Nov 5th, the day we celebrate a Spanish traitor trying to blow up the Houses of Parliament
Hope your tetanus shot covers you for stepping on that rusty screw. The 3 hour wait in A&E, I would have done exactly the same as you did. Love the last 3 pics…can almost imagine your kids twirling those sparklers like crazy!
Ouch! What did you do that for??? LOL Hope you have fun today getting your shot!
Looks like they had a blast– we went downtown to see the fireworks, which was great, but then we got stuck in traffic til 11pm!!
glad your family had a great 4th. don’t forget to get your foot checked out. don’t want you dropping off the face of the earth, though I’m sure you’d have your camera with you for the occasion. lol
Great Pics once again.
What neat pictures!!! Hope your foot feels better soon! the Tetanus shot always hurts more than the original injury…
(
I hope your foot doesn’t fall off!
Love the pics…….I need to learn how to sucessfully take night shots.
WOW!! Awesome pics!!! Unfortunately it rained in my area, so fireworks were a wash-out!!
I think you will be okay with the tetanus shot. My doctor told me that you could wait to get the shot. I wouldn’t have wanted to waste my day in the ER either. Don’t those shots last for 10 years?? You’ll be fine! But still .. good luck with everything!!
love the sparkler photos… reminds me of childhood!
Huh- what? What did you say???? ***rubs ears***
My daughter nearly took a firecracker to the head, my husband had a bottlerocket explode on his arm- and I walked the neighboorhood and sold glow bracelets for a quarter apeice…
But- it was all good.
How was my 4th? We ended up having a pretty relaxing 4th of July. Watched some fireworks down by the river. Exactly two minutes after the fireworks ended, the skys opened up and it started raining. Naturally we were 3 blocks from the car so we all ended up getting soaked on the walk back. Still had a great time. -Bek
Awesome pics as always. I hope your foot is ok.
Glad to hear that they day went so well besides the stepping on a rusty screw, bled in the kitchen and went to urgent care for three hours. I don’t let those little distractions ruin my day either.
Yup, I love the sparklers too….I was wondering….Are you grooming the kids to be Doctors or Nurses? It might be a beneficial occupation for them and YOU!!hahahaha sorry I couldn’t help myself…. We had a great 4th, our little town out did themselves on the fireworks display and the best place to watch was from our backyard!!!
ryc – thanks!
Wonderful pictures! I watched the Boston Pops on tv last night. Hope your foot is okay, and we won’t lose you?!
woohoo for sparklers!
I love the pics–stunning.
ryq: we’ve done nothing spectacular so far–we’re in the midst of moving, and I’ve been doing nothing but pack, and move. bleh. But we’re good–she’s had a lo of playdates lately,. which has allowed me to do what I need to do.
Thanks for asking.
One person! Loooong exposure
It’d be easier to cut in half and photoshop I’m sure!
My friend actually did the writing, and he’s very good, but I think *I* would have to photoshop for a while!
Thank you
I love yours more. I think the picture quality is better. What kind of camera do you have?
Oh of course I’ll be taking pictures! Hopefully I’ll get some good travel ones even though we’ll be inside most of the time! If you haven’t already, you can read about my Japan trip here.
yay for sparkler fun!! I’ll be excited when my kiddo gets a little bit older and can really get into the whole celebrations of things!
so, did you get your shot?????? LOL! BTW : I DID have birthday cake for breakfast…and I saved you a piece….WHERE WERE YOU????!!!! (lol) Have an awesome weekend Ang!
Oh yeah, I like the sparkler pictures too! Especially the one of Cooper? Can’t wait to hear about the tetanus shot – & maybe you’ll have pictures of that also. I really hope you don’t have to wait around in the Dr.s office, that’s such a bummer. Do you have a CPAP yet? Peace
Glade you had a good holiday and hope the shot didn’t hurt too bad!
Here I thought I was a genius with the picture taking on the fourth of july . . . my post is almost the exact same!! LOL Excellent photos!!
