Today I got my first assignment from the glass studio in town that I will be taking my work to. They will sell it on consignment and I will be doing the occasional custom order as they need it. I am SO excited about this. It means a constant source of extra money if I get some pieces done… well… if they sell… Maybe I’m a little over confident, but I’m pretty sure that my stuff will sell. ;-b

It’s a step in getting myself out there. Now… if I can just do something with my pictures.

I think Sherylanns idea of a barn book is a great one… I only need about two HUNDRED more pictures of barns. Of course all of the road trips to get those pictures would be great fun!

That’s all I have for today. An update from my sedate life. I’ll be out and about all day tomorrow and I go back into the glass shop on Thursday to do a little work with the people there to “tweak” My solder lines… I kinda like my lines rough and they said on my wild life pieces that’s great… but they like them super smooth… I’m all for learning something new so bring it on I say…

Today we went for a drive so that I could take some pictures.

We took the kids to the Mayfield Pond Park.

It is a true gem of a park that not many people go to.

We saw…

flowers,

and a lot of frogs, polliwogs, and tadpoles.

You can see the little guy on the left has just a nub of a tail left, the guy on the right doesn’t have his legs yet.

Here is a polliwog.

I was thinking about grabbing my boots and wading into the pond maybe even sitting on  the bank.

and then Ben spotted this guy…

A northern watersnake.

I decided against sitting in the water…

He isn’t poisonous but a bite is still a bite!

Isabelle caught a little frog.

The kids were loving it!

I love how brave they are.

Daddy was showing them how it was done.

A little closer look shows what he was after.

There were a lot of these guys around.

We just walked around looking and playing and terrorizing the local nature.

The kids waded in the river.

We saw this guy…

He was very small, much smaller then our turtles.

We saw turtle butt…

And duck butt.

It was a very nice day, spent with my family.

If you guys haven’t tried it lately I encourage you to get out there…

It’s good for the soul.

I’d share my zombie shelter with anyone…

I can pretty much get along with anyone.

If I had to choose some one I wouldn’t share with…

I’d say Hitler… let the zombies have him.

We went last night.

I am looking forward to this so much.

We went with my Mom and Pop.

Had to check the river for fish.

Charlie was not happy because we weren’t buying everything he wanted.

Hey! I didn’t get my creme brulee either… so he just had to suffer. :-b

Every time I see them I try to get a cool picture but I haven’t gotten one I love yet.

I will probably catch them at a few more events this summer.

Going out to Friday Night Live tonight!

It’s going to be fun… the only problem is… that I really, really… want a creme brulee… but we are watching our pennies right now… (watching them slip right into the septic. lol) so I will be drooling the whole time we walk around down there… Ahhh well.

The tooth fairy was negligent in her duties again last night. She may have to leave an extra four quarters to make up for it… being absent minded is a costly thing.

If I have to drool I may as well make you all drool too… Here is what I am craving. I have been a good girl though… One or two a year is really a sufficient treat.

I didn’t get anything really great but it felt good to be out taking pictures.

I did get this though.

I thought it was a cool rock,

and then I noticed something cooler.

I wish I had taken a few more pictures of him… I was focusing on the rock.

He’s still a nice surprise.

The rest of the day wasn’t great.
