  • What do I do when I am tired beyond belief but don’t want to sleep?

Well first I drink the one bottle of caffeine that I will allow myself today.

Then I get out of the house so I don’t take a nap.

Cooper and I took an early lunch to Ben.

We sat outside and enjoyed the sun and the flowers.

    I love Iris’s.

Then on the way home we take a side road along the Boardman River.

We took a walk along the river.

Found some beautiful wild flowers to go with the planted ones.

I took a ton more pictures by the river but I’ll spare you those… for now…

We drove by the Circle H Ranch and Ranch Roudolph.

    Took pictures of the horses.

Of course I had to take barn pictures.
So here are a couple of those.

And you all know if I can get a picture of a barn and of flowers…

    So much the better!

Which do you think is better?

    Left or right?

I’ll leave you with a field of poppies.

Mrs. Grouleu planted these a LONG time ago…

I wish I knew how she did it.
It is Poppies now and in a few weeks it will be the most GOURGEOUS hollyhocks.

One of my all time favorite flowers.

So you know where I’ll be when their in bloom taking pictures of the barn with Hollyhocks.

For now I’ll leave you with a field of poppies.

Which picture did you like the best?

    Why?

I know two posts in one day… I told you I’m trying to stay AWAKE…

  • I use “Simply Sleep” and it helps me get the deep sleep I need to face the next morning. I know a lot of people, myself included, hate taking things like that but it does work wonders!

  • Holyhocks,Ranunculus and Poppies are my favorites.
I love the Iris pic and the barn with poppies the best! Good eyeball Ang!!!

  • Oh my gosh – this is actually what you see when you go for walks outside your house????  That is completely amazing.  And all those horses – so beautiful.  Where do you live?

  • Yeah- that’s my monster- I tell you terrible two’s were nothing… these trying threes are something else…. I call them trying because I am trying not to kill her….

    LOL

yeah- actually I run three blogs believe it or not….

    and

    mommasather

Sometimes I have way too much time on my hands… my jewelry blog is the most up to date.

BTW post some picks of the holly hocks huh??? I am still waiting on my hollyhocks and gladiolas- and am getting impatient…..

  • Beautiful pictures.

I like the old barn the best, because I want to linger in its loft.

When I can’t sleep I usually draw or write, sometimes I go for a walk.

  • OMG, sweetie…you take awesome, beautiful photogrpah. And I can not pick just one, hehe.
But the field of poppies is very pretty and colourful. Would make a wonderful Xanga background. *hint hint*

Have a great rest of the day, and sweet dreams….later!
    Hugs,
    L

  • I love poppies & irises…. they are so beautiful…

I really couldn’t tell ya what to help sleep… I’m not having much luck on that note…

  • I love the barn w/the flowers!!  So beautiful all of them!!

  • Nice photos! I think I liked the barn with flowers (narrow) picture the best… less driveway, but still got all of the basic elements across.

  • Hmmmm.  Remember what happened to Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz when she walked through a field of poppies?  Maybe you should go on down to Mrs. G’s before bedtime tonite and stroll around!  I like the left picture of poppies best, it’s more focused on the barn and flowers and and not so much on background business.  You do live in a beautiful area!  Peace

  • BOO!! Miss me? I missed HUMP day…but I am sure you celebrated without my encouragemnet…LOL

I lofe the left pic. Makes the barn seem tiny compared to nature. You have a wonderful eye…I am impressed!!

  • great pictures, have you tried drinking warm milk? im a fan of children’s strength benadryl- low dosage so its safe, but it knocks me out anyway…

ive never seen hollyhocks so i look forward to when you post them for us

  • Brilliant

  • You certainly have an eye for a stunning photograph. I love both horses pictures and poppies/barn one. Personally I like both poppy pics but think the right one is better. Much more blue sky to contrast the scarlet of the flower petals. Iris’s always remind me of warm days spent in my grandad’s front garden, was a place of beauty and safety and always felt more like ‘home’ than my own concrete yard did.

  • I take a walk
Like the columbines, but your iris pictures are just great.
It’s been a good flower year for some reason.

  • I love the picture on the right of the barn better because I can see more of it.  This was an AWESOME post!!!

  • Like the the right because it has just a tad more purple and that goes with red and the poppies are bigger too. I always have trouble planting flowers to get them to bloom at different times. That’s a good idea, poppies and hollyhocks. Any more you can tell me about?

  • If I *had* to choose, I would probably say the very first one on top of the irises. They all are really lovely!

The little reddish one was a fairy lantern?

  • I like the popies in front of the barn and the panoramic photos of the horses running .
It worth it when you are tired Ang because you become so  productive in Art !!

    Love

    mIchel

  • i like the one on the left better cuz you see the barn clearly. you’re soo productive today! lovely pictures too! love the first horse picture since it also balances the green of the grass with them running. i love the horses because i used to ride every weekend as a child in nashville! what is a liberty call girl? i go by ang, too! i hate being called angie…cuz i knew a dumb angie in high school.

  • OH ANG!  Another beautiful post from you!  I must say, those horses look so free and pretty, but you know what : i have to go with the Irises – they happen to be one of my favourite flowers, but then again I am partial to the colour purple – LOL!  Have a good weekend!

  • Beautiful flowers. RYC:  Thanks

  • the pic of the barn on the right. beautiful pics by the way. the horse pics were fantastic. you must live in a great area

  • Where do you live ? The pictures are very beautiful.  I do hope to live in there. I like the pictures of flowers best. The flowers are so beautiful……

  • Morning Ang, I like the barn on the right, good contrast! Love all the pixs. We have Iris along a fence line not enough sun! They don’t bloom! Have a great weekend!

  • That first barn is awesome. I want to restore it and make it into a giant house.

  • I love Irises too!!  I especially love the fact that they come back year after year and I haven’t killed mine yet!!  But they are gorgeous flowers!  Speaking of gorgeous, your photos are incredible.  You have so many wonderful sites to take pictures of!!  I guess the one on the right is better …

I hope you are having a great Friday!! Alicia

  • RYC:  LMAO @ your comment!!  I never thought of that .. but he would be so busted if the girls started getting poison in their private area!  Yikes .. I just hope he keeps it to himself!!

  • Gorgeous pictures!

  • I like the barn on the right better.  Open composition is much more appealing to me than peeking through a window composition.

RYC:  I’m with Cooper.  I want it all.
