  • birthday lunch 009 BAY WATCH

Saw my first tall ship on the Bay yesterday. There are three of them that are out all summer long.

gerber daisy 003 Timber wanted to see a Gerber daisy. This is the one I picked up at the farmers market last weekend.

Tonight I am going to be planting Hostas in the front yard and setting up two of the cattle tanks… one we use as a giant turtle pond and the other will be our water garden this year.

    ***********************************EDIT*****************************************

Hostas planted, bush removed from the front of the house, turtle tank filled with water and rocks… now it has to warm up a little, water pond filled and waiting for me to plant the lilies…

I think it was a good day.

I’ll post a picture of both tanks in a couple of days when I have everything in them and they look like their supposed to.

  • I love your pics! Especially the gerber daisy. Love that color!

What size cattle tanks do you use for your ponds? The boys have been begging for a turtle pond in our yard. I’ve been wanting a low fountain with a big spray on top. I guess we could combine both and do a turtle pond with an aerator in it? Pictures, please, ma’am!

  • I do love your bicycle!!! and a trailer too…you must have been a very good girl!  Also I love the tall sailing ships… We took a sail on a windjammer barefoot cruise for our honeymoon, it was a barquentine called the Fantome, what a blast!!!  I’m dividing my hosta’s this year – I wish I could share with you, then I could come and check out your cattle tanks!

  • I looooove Gerber Daisies!

  • That is my all-time favorite flower, you know! Especially in that color. But, I thought they were called “Gerbera” daisies? Maybe that’s just another Southern-ism I didn’t recognize… LOL!

Love the ships. I hate being landlocked. Even the lakes here look brown because of the Georgia red clay. Sigh. I miss Lake Michigan. And Lake Charlevoix, for that matter. It was much calmer to swim in as a child, if I remember correctly.

  • ooh! a schooner they are so much fun

i love that color of gerber daisy, its just such a warm and friendly hue.

  • Hi! I saw your comment on my husband’s (Pea Hater) site. I love the pictures! One of my daughter’s (PXSmall) favorite flowers is Gerber Daisies. Your water tank garden sounds really cool! I have always wished for a lily pond. I doubt that’s gonna happen, though! Hmm— maybe in Heaven?  Happy belated birthday! Sounds like you had a wonderful day! Blessings on your Thursday!

  • HEY ANG!  That daisy is really pretty – I’ve never seen one around here that colour!

Looking forward to the pics of the tanks……you’re a busy, busy lady!

  • i don’t know how you do it all!!!!!

  • Happy belated birthday.
I was poking around Hapx23′s site yesterday & found your beautiful daisy today!

  • I could sit on a dock in the bay and watch tall ships all day.

  • RYC: I will be posting a 2nd tree picture in a couple of minutes

  • RYC: Oh, I’d love to come up that way again sometime; but I dunno when that might happen. We’re too busy sinking money into the house on new decks and front porches right now! Plus, we only have 23 days until I get to be lazy on the beaches of North Carolina at the Outer Banks beach house we rent!

  • sorry; i know i don’t comment much, but to be honest, i try to only comment when i have something to say

  • Wow. Which bay is that??

  • Yep, today was my last day. This summer though is going to be so boring, and I’ll be left alone too long.

  • your questions have been answered….

  • I don’t know if I have ever seen a daisy that color- it is beautiful!! Thanks for sharing.

  • You are torturing me with photos of the bay!  I NEED WATER DANG IT!!
