STILL CHIPPING
THE REQUESTS’ ROLL ON…
Okay, So my workshop/studio is a complete mess… it’s in transition. Right now it is patiently waiting for me to fix the floor in the building outside, and then I will need help disassembling my work benches and carrying them out there. So instead of showing you all of it right now, I thought I would show you some bits and pieces of it and then when the outside is all settled I will show you the wonderfully organized and well lit studio that it will become and you will all think I am an amazingly neat creative person instead of an incredibly sloppy one. I know there are those of you out there who know me in real life and know the latter to be true… bite your tongues please…
Glass globs, magnified glass, mirrors and small bevels waiting for projects… never know what I will want to use. Glass that is too small to be put with the big pieces and a pile that needs to be sorted into mosaic boxes that I haven’t done yet. The plastic tubs are glass scraps from my finished projects that are to big to throw away and waiting for mosaics… Some of them will be used this weekend because I will be going to the annual mosaic weekend at my friend Rosie’s.
Of course I will be blogging on it.
Miscellanious things I find that seem like a good idea at the time… Plastic animals and people, keys and bottle caps, all of these things can be used some where believe it or not… really, they can!
Acrylic paints… used by both me and the kids, can never have too many. Okay so those are some of the tools, Let me show you some of the pieces that are waiting to be worked on. These are things I’m doing for myself. It always seems to take longer to do those because I set them aside and work on other things for other people, that just seems easier to do.
Frog panel. I am actually considering putting some three dimensional glass wings on him… I think they would look good. He’s kind of stuck right now because I cut the first piece of olive green glass for his leg and decided I didn’t like it so now I need to find a green I do like. These are two panels from a six panel lamp, the other four panels are reeds only… It is going to replace the ugly lamp on my night stand when it is done… looking at it now I want to go finish it… hmmm… nah, It’ll wait.
Okay this is in our front door. I did this piece a few years ago when the kids had one of their frequent “Oop’s, I didn’t mean to do it Mom.” Moments…
I have to find some time to sit down at the scanner to show you all any more since most of the pictures I have of the things I’ve done were taken before I had my digital camera. Also… I have requests for baby pics, grad pic, etc… I’m working on it … really I am.
Ang
Oh Rach, I promise when the studio is all in good working order again I’ll do a nice post about it… Sorry for the cop out. Ang
Hey! I do have a piece that is on here, I posted it awhile ago… when I first started blogging, I’ll put that up too… since some of you may not have seen it.
It’s a fish I did for my Pop for Christmas.

That was fun! Makes me want to drag all of my glass stuff out even more (I’ve been fighting the urge for a few months).
Must be nice to have talent!
Nice glass, I love the frog & trout, keep up the great work.
What talent you have girly!! Amazing!!
wow.
you’re more awesome than id originally thought
Ooooo… I’m so jealous… I’ve worked w/ glass a few times (back in school) and loved it… thou it’s not something you can learn alone (I don’t think?) but either way you do need room (one of the things I was looking forward to w/ both kids in school was starting working on art stuff again….) anyway… I did a lot of ceramics and metalsmithing… (really it was jewelry design, but most of my stuff was non functional) but again that was in school… my kinds step sister is goes to Ohio State and does a lot of glass work… I get jealous of her… I never did go to art school, yada… but I keep telling my self one day… one day, I will have the time and space to start on my venture… and I too collect all sorts of things like that… cuz you’re right they do come in handy!!!
anyway… looking forward to seeing more of your stuff… it looks great!
ttfn…
Wow, I love the glass!
wow incredible glass work ang – i love it
WOW!! I’m impressed and in awe of your talent!!! I have got to be the most untalented person in the world .. as far as anything artsy is concerned. Oh, and I can’t sing either … but I do have a few talents!
I hope you are enjoying your evening!!
Alicia
Hello you x
Very cool. My work space is messy but at least I don’t have to clean off the dining room table anymore. I have my own little room and spend most of my time there. Your space is really organized.
Holy wow, that is some awesome, beautiful work, sweetie.
You are so very, VERY talented.
Thanks for sharing and I can not wait to read about your mosaic-weekend.
Hugs,
L
You know something, my admiration for you goes up every now and again when I read things in your entries. Today it’s shot up. Beautiful glass work. I adore those fish pieces! Well done you talented lady
I love the door Ang,it is wonderful!! It couldn’t be any nicer. Your junk looks like my junk.it is so similar!!
you are sooooooo talented!!!!!!!!
not only are you organized and neat, but you have talent to fall back on
OK, so if your workspace is messy…I need you to come here and mess mine up a little. I used to do stained glass (years ago) and I really want to get back into it. I even bought a grinder! WooHoo! I haven’t bought any glass though and this post has inspired me to get off my patootie and get with it. I really do like all the pictures you were able to share – thank you! Peace
so pretttyyy!!! I love all the colors
OH MY GOSH! Can I come visit????? I’d have a ball there with you and all that stuff!!!!!!!! One day I’ll have some workspace of my own, when baby is grown and we can afford to upgrade to a bigger house, and then I’m gonna have tons of stuff like yours to be able to get creative!
have a great weekend!
RYC: I couldn’t sleep so I got up, got the report done. Now I’m onto my next project – camp applications.
RYC: Can you believe I forgot to bring my camera?! I always try to bring it with me, especially this time of year with all the flowers coming up, but I spaced out and left it home… Oh, well
all kidding aside, you are truly gifted thanks for sharing
Awww…you are making ME something?
That is so freaking cool, sweet and amazing.
I will treasure that forever.
Also, I am not a les either, but I do appreciate a beautiful, sexy woman, or a set of nice knockers, hehe. So I totally know what you mean.
And yes, I will take tons of pictures when I go see Alli…I promise!
Now, not sure if there will be pictures when I go see my friend in Odessa.
And IF there are, well…never mind, LMAO!
Have a great weekend, sweetie.
Hugs,
L
Those are just beautiful!!! ryc: I know they would be great for Halloween time heheh
ryc: thanks for subbing, I thought I subbed you already but I am going to do it again
I don’t know which ones are creepier the feet or the hairy ones lol!
Incredible. I feel the need to redo my room too. I am doing a complete overhaul at my house.
I posted a photo a while back of my craft room and itwas a disaster then. I have tried
stained glass before but havent picked it up. I have to finish all my ceramics and my
sewing before starting anything else. If you want to see my craft room go check out my
photo blog look under craft room.
amazing stuff! Reminds me of the days I use to do crafts with my kids…we had SO much fun!
geeze you gotta lotta stuffs
I dont have a work shop, I need to convert one of our rooms into a painting area though……I just am a slacka
I’m so envious of your space! Maybe I’d be more inclined to work more with my crafts if I had more space to work. Maybe that’s part of the reason my first mosaic mirror STILL isn’t done…I swear, I’m afraid of the grout!!!!
Enjoy your mosaic-ing weekend though, it sounds fantastic!
Thanks for stopping by. Brewdude seems to know the most interesting people! Your work is positively beautiful. RYC: The Blue Men were absolutely spectacular. I’m really excited about them opening another show at Universal’s Citywalk in Orlando, practically in my backyard.
You are talented! Those are awesome.
I just love all of it – the workspace – the art – my favorite is the fish. SIGH…I want to be a stained glass artist too! Have a great weekend, hope its clear enough for planet watching!
great artwork
Nice work on the stainglass. My mother has her own stainglass shop called Teresa’s Treasures. She makes a lot of stuff for servicemembers because my husband and my father are in the Army.
