  • Let the Madness Begin

I cut Charlie’s hair a few days ago and he insisted on having a tail… ICK. I hated them in the 80′s and I still can’t stand them, but he wants what he wants. So I left him his tail. We arrived at my sisters this afternoon and she noticed it and started hammering him with the questions… Why? WHy? WHY???

Finally she just said “Charlie I’ll give you twenty bucks if you let me cut it off.”

He hemmed and hawed and then said “Okay. I want ten up front…” So thats how the deal went ten up front and Aunt D got the scissors… no more tail. After words she said “Why did I start so high? I bet he would have gone for ten.”

My response was ”Yeah…Now it’s going to be twenty for everything…”

  • i like tails! i had one for quite a while..but what a shrewd little guy you have there: ” i want $10 up front” …

wonder where he gets that from…

  • Well, your trip is off to a good start.  Maybe you can explain to Charlie that currency is inflated in Detroit?  You know, $5 loaves of bread and $9 movie rentals . . .

  • LOL…I did the same thing with my step son. He had long bangs (really long), and had dyed a skunk stripe in his hair (which was bad enough). I told him I’d give him $50 if he let me cut it. He agreed and said afterward that he would have done it for a much lower price. Eh, I didn’t care, I was just glad I didn’t have to look at it anymore!

  • Oh no……not a tail.  I saw a kid last night that had one.  It was pretty serious too.

  • Ooooo, I’m with your sis. I loathe those things. Had to laugh at your son asking for ten upfront. You’ve got a wily little entrepreneur in the making there

  • now that shit is funny….

  • ROFL….I would have shaved his head in his sleep and  swore up and down I didn’t know how that happened!!! hahaha!!!

  • I want 10 up front what a gangster….

  • I need one of those.  -haircuts

  • clever… I never like those tails back in the 80 either.

  • Ha, yeah… what a gangster is right. I’m surprised he went for it though. I’d have thought 40 at minimum.

  • Funny… I had long hair and then my mom cut it and left me with a long tail in the 80′s.  I looked a bit like a boy, lol!

  • So you must have made the trip to Detroit safe & sound…am glad! Forecaster is still calling for blizzard here…it rained on the way into work – with the whole big show of lightning and thunder. It didnt take long at 31 degrees for it to all become a big ice skating rink…its slick out…am sure its going to be busy at work tonight…lots of accidents. Stay well and have a great time with your family. Huggs Kiddo…..Penny

  • ew…tails..i hate them too…my dad tried to grow my brother a tail…i was like “ew, gross dad” yes thats exactly what i said…my brother end up not likin it anyway so they cut it hahaha

  • I think he might have gone for $5, a better starting point anyway. You’re right though, from now on, everything is $20  lol

  • hey ang It’s erica comment my new site.

  • By far the best $20 i have ever spent!

  • aww poor boy, he sacrifice for the money. :)

  • I had a “rat tail” for about a day at the end of the fad in the 80′s the next day it became a “fag tag” and it got cut as soon as I got home. Sis was correct on this one.

  • Yup that tail had to GO! I never liked them, I thought that they were even worse when they braided them. Rat tails…. BARF!!!!!!!

  • What a smart little guy!! Lol…He will go far with deals like that..lol

  • >< You’ve got a lot of patience just to let him have the tail anyway.

I don’t know if patience is the right word. Today I can’t think of too many of the right words.

  • Don’t ever let him have his way again! And whatever you do…if he asks for a mullet…just say no. I wish someone would have told me no…after the pics came back to haunt me.

  • A tail???  We used to call them rat tails— ew!!! LOL

  • My one-word post is done!

  • OH, way to go, SIS on getting rid of that thing. Sometimes Aunties can convince kids of the wisdom of changing things even when Mommas can’t. I’m sure the $20 didn’t hurt either. You should pay her back half, at least! LOL

  • hi Ang!!!…..i had my red hair waist (or was it waste) length, after leaving home at 17…..only rebelling from having worn a dad imposed crew cut( he cut all 8 boys hair the same)…..even braided it for karate demos, using a lead bead to break boards with……eventually, i learned to manage my assets better…i still cringe, looking at old pictures….maybe one day, i’ll get brave, and post a few…my hair pet peeve, now, is old dudes with pony tails, and a big bald spot…..yuck!….have to admire your son’s entepreneurial spirit!….and, how cool would a party at LeLo’s be?…………peace………animal.
