Yesterday the kids were home from school. The usual bickering and negotiations took place in regards to television and game playing time. Isabelle wanted Charlie to play Dance Dance Revolution with her.
If you have never seen it, this is my idea of the perfect video game… the kids have mats that they have to dance on copying the steps from the television screen.
Charlie wanted to play his computer game, which he had already been playing for an hour. Sick of listening to the seemingly endless argument I decided to try and come up with a solution.
“Charlie, if Mommy says you have to shut off the computer at two o’clock, will you go play DDR with Isabelle?”
When I paused waiting for Charlie’s answer Isabelle leaned over to me and said in a covert whisper…
“You’re the Mommy.” Like I had forgotten the fact…
“Thank you.” I replied laughing… It’s bad when I’m not even thirty-five and my children are concerned that senility is setting in.

hahahaha great post…….in there eyes we are old and crazy as hell
35 is soooo old!
LOL She is so sweet to be concerned!! (So, did he go play with her?)
ROFLMAO!!!!
And why didn’t YOU play DDR with her???? hmmmm???? Is there a problem Mommy????
BAH!!!
My kids did the same thing when I referred to myself in the third person. It just made me do it more! The brain has been kidnapped. I found the ransom note. I’ll post it later tonight.
I think its hysterical when my kids do things like that to me. I’ll bet she seriously thought you had forgotten YOU were the Mommy!!
LOL! My kids are off all week for winter break and they’re both sick, so you can imagine how much bickering is going on here
Well, okay, they are actually being reasonably good except for the occasional fights over the tv. I may try to get them outside today in spite of the hacking, wet, coughs coming from them. We’re having a heat wave (40°) and who knows how long that will last…
I like DDR too; at least with that video game they’re getting a little exercise too!
Funny comment by the girl… my kids have pulled a few of those “Geez, Mom! Didn’t you know that’s!?” on me from time to time.
Off to take my boy to get his learner’s permit. Another whole adventure begins! Joy.
ROTFL…Don’t you just love those little reminders? As if we could forget who the parent is!!
Have a great day!!
lol kids say the darndest things……
ROFL! Mine just tell me I need Weight Watchers.
Maria loves DDR, but ALL of them love Guitar Heroes. Ever seen that one? LOL
Trish
Heh – glad to have found ya – just randomly on the recently updated list. Your name caught my eye
and here I am. Thanks for the greeting! Also Ang.
Ahh kids…You just have to love em.
Have an awesome day.
he he he, I can’t wait ’til I have some of my own…the non-furry kind.
CUTE KIDS
Um. Should be you’re the mommy.
Ha! I love my belle belle! When are you coming??
Haha, from their eyes you are probably on the cusp of death. Children of only a few years have a great deal of difficulty imaging the incredibly long amount of time that is *gasp* 35 years.
Okay. I played DDR with D2 once. I was so bad at it, that I got to laughing, which lead to peeing, etc. Not good. At least one third of the kids remembered that you are in charge. That’s good any day.
I love DDR ,we did it on the boadrwalk and it was so stinking fun!!
you the mom girl!!
RYC: Hopefully we don’t loose any of the Robins this weekend. It’s suppose to be really bad. – a lot of snow.
Hahah…too funny. That’s why they were silent. So was the problem resolved?
i suck at DDR. i try… and it’s a mess.
hi Ang, ………my daughter, diana, is obsessed with DDR……she plays it at the arcade, and practices her moves on her ps2 version……she’s danced herself into amazing shape….. i no longer have to worry if she’s getting enough exercise….i tried it….it’s fun, and i might even compare it, in cardio benefit, to our martial arts workouts…..except, i don’t have to worry about her breaking bones……………….animal
wow…. smart little one..good she realizes that …did the boy realize that too??
35, wipper snapper, I saw DDR played this weekend, looked tiring
