    The Frog Prince

This is one of my favorite Illustrators. I have this print hanging in the bathroom… Where else does a frog prince go?

Here is a link to another painting that I found recently that I really LOVE. In the past I haven’t liked this artist. His paintings always seemed cold and sterile to me, or worse, lonely and full of sorrow.  If you check the catalog on his site you’ll see what I mean.Although there are only a few samples of his work.

It’s hard to believe this  is by the same artist.  It’s Andrew Wyeth.  The Carry.

Tell me what you all think.

This is called boredom… maybe I should repost the finger spelling from my last post…

I think I’ll post one of my favorite poems instead. I already put up some ART so I may as well… I know you all are going to beg me to go back to sperm and snot posts soon…

An Irish Airman Foresees His Death

I know that I shall meet my fate

    Somewhere among the clouds above;

Those that I fight I do not hate,

    Those that I guard I do not love;

    My country is Kiltartan Cross,

    My countrymen Kiltartan’s poor,

No likely end could bring them loss

Or leave them happier than before.

Nor law, nor duty bade me fight,

Nor public men, nor cheering crowds,

    A lonely impulse of delight

    Drove to this tumult in the clouds;

I balanced all, brought all to mind,

The years to come seemed waste of breath,

A waste of breath the years behind

In balance with this life, this death.

  • frog princes go in the woods and maybe the pond too

  • Are you sure that is by the same artist? It is hard to believe. I love the painting though.

  • Oh, nevermind…I only see one pic…are there supposed to be two?

  • Like them both. I like the Wyeth pic better tho. Thanks for sharing

  • Nice…..Where For thou price and frog go?….where o where….haha….

  • Nice paintings…thanks for sharing.  I especially like The Carry.  It makes me feel that If I jump into the river it will carry me away from all this.

    Have a day!!

  • I agree with the last comment.  “The Carry” is full of life, and I like your Frog Prince illustration.  The rest of the Wyeth site seemed a little bland to me . . .

  • http://www.brandywinemuseum.org/ has beautiful Wyeth works.I love them.and a frog prince seems like he would enjoy the crapper.

  • not an andrew wyeth fan. but then, you probably figured that, didn’t you?

  • love the wyeth work- makes me want to go sit by a river and just watch…

i can see how you’d put the frog prince illustration in the bathroom, the waterfall in the background seems like it would be conducive to bathroom-y things

  • The frog is looking at him strange. -not like someone in love. lol

  • Great Picture! And you’re right, the Frog Prince is the best

  • i like the water print the best.  thanks for your sweet comments!  you are such an angel!!!!

  • I like The Carry – but then, I am a big fan of waterscapes

  • ryc; i’m not sure if it’s “fending off others” or “unconsciously attracting others”. for cloaks not only hide us, but also make us vulnerable to judgement. and that judgement is not necessarily always negative. life is interesting, and full of wonder, isn’t it?
wishing you a perfect evening my dear friend; peace and love, always, john :)

  • RYC: Oh dear God NOOO! I don’t have it! That’s what’s wrong…you’ve lost our brain!!!! Okay, okay…we just have to see where it might be. Maybe someone has seen it? Maybe…uh oh…maybe it’s been KIDNAPPED!! I’ll have to see if anyone has sent me a ransom note. You check, too, okay? I just hope no one ate it or something.

  • RYC:  They were so ready for a boy.

  • I like them both!

  • I like The Carry… not a big fan of the frog prince; but hey, I have no artistic taste whatsoever… 50% ain’t bad from me! LOL

RYC: Oh, yes, there were singers; and… even better! There was video! Go check out my hubby’s site for the two videos of him and DAH having their fun times. Sadly, they were the only two sober ones out of our crowd. Hubby drank sweet tea all night; DAH had water with lemon. PowerFox75 DID celebrate a bit; I haven’t seen him have that many beers in a LOOONNGG time. Spying_Mom, well you saw the size of her beer… she had TWO. (Of course I had 1 1/2 margaritas the same size!)

We also have big news, which is also posted on AvidBassDad2007′s site… go check it out.

  • Max Parrish has long been a favotite of mine too…

  • Everyone in my family used to be fluent in sign (Deaf great grandparents). I forgot most of it so I had to look up your previous post.

  • wow. i had no idea there was such a thing as a frog prince. wait….is that the whole kiss the frong and you get a prince thingy?

  • That’s a beautiful poem. It flows so nicely.

  • I really like that pic!  And the poem! Have a SUPER DAY!

  • Interesting painting, sweetstuff!

Hope your day was a good one, and you got some fun and relaxing done this weekend.

    And guess what??

And here’s wishing your UPS-delivery dude is a hottie, hehe!

    Big hugs,
    LeLo

  • Great poem.    I remember it from the film “Memphis Belle”

  • Great picture.. The sign language pics are cute…you  really must have been bored.   Thanks for stopping by to see the eye candy….Now don’t get me wrong, I think I have a hot husband, but dahmmmnn…that guy is scrumptious.. I doubt I would ever get out of bed if I got to wake up to that every morning.  He He He…..

  • I’m tired…..

  • have a great day sweetie!!!!

  • I remember this piece from Yates…

  • now, your taste in poetry, i can agree with.

  • A frog prince in the bathroom?  Sounds right. LOL

  • I don’t know why she put the frog prince in the bathroom. She has frogs in every room in the house ….

  • Beautiful pic!    And RYC:  I’d ask before I moved in for the hug though… lol  I’ll just have to do it quick before he calls the cops on me.  *heh*
